Muezick where do you live? damn i am having regrets. did you do a flat rate box or something?
I live in CA also so I am sure that helped. Funny story I actually used way over sided boxes also and a ton of packing peanuts. All the boxes I could find were either half an inch too small or giant. Express mail for 6lbs and I was able to use my own box.

Muezick sending mine via UPS this morning it cost me 21 bucks. plus 7 bucks for the box. it's going to arrive there Thursday. The next option, to have it arrive wednessday, was 84 lmao
I just sent mine off USPS fully insured and it will be there Monday for 21$ each. I checked fedex and UPS and it would have been crazy $ with them.
I sent mine from USPS costed me 27$ with insurance, should be there Monday. I was seriously considering on not getting insurance as I dont have an invoice to make a claim anyway if something goes wrong, but it was only 10$ for insurance so I was ok.
Brianm0121 Did anyone who already shipped their GPU have the anti static bag to put it in? I unfortunately got rid of the anti static bag without even thinking about it, kept everything else though (retail box, covers, manuals, etc.). Trying to think where I could pick up an anti static bag without buying one from amazon since all the pc stores (comp usa, tiger direct, etc.) closed their brick and mortar stores long ago and I doubt Best Buy has them.
I didnt even have a box. I emailed EVGA and they told me to use lots of newspaper to wrap the card and thats what I did.
My hoarding ended up paying off lol. I shipped them in the original boxes I got them in for extra protection.

My package should get to them by Tuesday with USPS for $24.25 with $600 insurance ($9.15) Hoping that by Thursday or Friday I'll get an email saying the 1080 TI is shipped to me.

I shipped mine from PA, it was slightly less than 3lbs. Decent sized box and decent padding. Since the box was not huge I didn't need too much padding.

I ended up refreshing about 9:56 am before it was officially time to release the graphics card at 10am PST and had it all setup up mins after. I already had my invoice uploaded a week before so that was one less step to do after that it was shipping time.

EVGA uses UPS and they use what is called 200lb Burt Strength shipping boxes. Regardless of who you chose to use. I highly recommend that you find a true shipping box similar to the ones EVGA uses and protect your card that you are shipping with a good amount of impact protection. It is recommended that you use the original retail box your GPU came in as well, inside the shipping box.

Don't worry, i know it's easier said than done, but since i've luckily been through this stuff before so i know. You see All of us are pretty much still in Q, unless they are ready to ship, and of course Every new business day lands on a Monday, not on usually a Saturday even for UPS unless they say otherwise, it always on a Monday, of course Sunday's are are the big day off of the week.

I used USPS online. Saved about $5 vs. what they charge in the post office (We all get a discount if we create and pay for the shipment online). I can tell you in my situation it saved me about $8 overall vs. my using UPS last week to ship the GPU in for the ICX upgrade (Although most of that difference is purchasing online and less insurance). With USPS I paid $22.65 for 36 day priority that includes tracking and $579 in insurance. With UPS and my AAA Discount I Paid $31 with $700 in insurance for ground. Both versions take three days...

And those AAA and the USPS online service is good to have if your doing a lot of shipping and traveling as well, plus the insurance is a no brainer in case your shipment becomes damaged in any way.

Thank you and great to hear from you! I have been slammed at the office for quite a while (Very good thing BTW). That has kept me from being online as much as I once was. But I have been around. Mostly in the Crunching/Folding threads. I am just now able to get back to some enjoyment. Timing was awesome to say the least. My excitement level for the 1080 TI FE is as great as my excitement was to get the the GTX 295's back in the day. In fact, come to think of it I felt the same way about the 8800's too... As for the authorization code. I am not sure what you mean. Are you speaking to proof of your prior purchases or?

Yeah, the proof of purchase, which since i get it directly from Evga.com, i guess that they have my order in their database which is good for me heh. Btw, sometimes it is, like you said good to be busy, as i'm still trying to get well from being in and out of hospitals and getting meds current. Keeping busy can really help from going crazy to lol, like trying to clean the parents house, and pay their bills along with my own heheh. Take care bud, i have always wanted to try Folding/Crunching, but have always been afraid of losing my Gpu's early from doing such intense work. P.S. I think more people should learn about Folding/Crunching, and how it may be able to benefit Science and Biological causes? Take care.

Well get well man! Sounds like you are putting up a good fight. And yes, they have the records. They will make the transition easier because of that. As for burning out parts... Anything can happen. But I have a 780 Classified that has been working 24/7 purchased July 2013 still working like it did day one. I also had a GPU fry (Pop, smoke, done) 15 minutes into a game after being installed. For me, the reward is the combined efforts providing true life changing opportunities for folks we will never know or meet.

I sent my 1080 FTW card back in a usps priority mail box. Medium size fit it just fine in its original packaging minus the box. I just wrapped it in some bubble wrap to fill in. $24 with 600 insurance. Worked out just fine. There are 2 medium size boxes, just hit the larger one and you're an all set. Now to wait for the 1080 Ti SC or SC2 to get added to the stepup list.

I have the same card and original box. The large flat rate box says it's only 3" high on both versions of the large flat rate box and the original box is about 3 3/4" to 4" tall. I didn't think it would fit in the large much less the medium. Maybe I'm reading the flat rate box dimensions wrong but going by what it says it's only 3" tall on the medium and large. Both versions of each. I guess I'll just wait till Monday and go down in person to make sure instead of doing it online. Even if it does fit, they say to make sure at least 2" of padding all around it or it will be rejected. Did you have enough room to add padding around all sides inside the medium box?

There is a new medium box. They called it a shirt box at my post office. It is longer than the older box. I did not actually worry about the 2inch thing. The foam the 1080 came in had plenty of padding and fit well in the box. I had something bubble wrap I added. I generally make sure there is close contact on the sides and pad the rest. The cardboard inner box wouldn't fit, but the foam inner core did fit.

So I am waiting to receive my 1080 FTW ICX Upgrade to come from EVGA as I sent back my ACX 3.0 and will def be doing the Ti Step Up. I have never done Step Up before and am curious as to how long we can anticipate for the ICX Ti cooler to be added? Anyone remember how long it was for them to add the ACX 3.0 cooler for 1080 when they were released? Thinking of waiting near end of my 90 window to do to see what option there will be.

ipkha I sent my 1080 FTW card back in a usps priority mail box.
Gotcha. I'll just go down Monday morning to make sure instead of doing it online. Don't want to take any chances. I tried UPS and they are outrageous. The slowest method was going to my almost $40. I could use my work account and get sent through UPS for less than $10 but not worth the risk of them finding it, lol. USPS will be fine. Will just have to go in person and make sure it will fit. Thanks for the info. Hopefully I will have my card by the end of the week after this one since I only picked standard ground on shipping back. I'm in no rush really. Just glad I got in before the month+ waiting list.

dustinr26 So I am waiting to receive my 1080 FTW ICX Upgrade to come from EVGA as I sent back my ACX 3.0 and will def be doing the Ti Step Up. I have never done Step Up before and am curious as to how long we can anticipate for the ICX Ti cooler to be added? It has been quoted at multiple places that EVGA will not be adding any "custom cards" for Step-up. I saw one post where someone said that EVGA rep told him only FE would be added. Seeing the pattern I am inclined to think there is a chance that non-OC ICX might be added but since it hasnt even been announced it is very less likely. Only time I have seen an OC card added is for UK 1080 SC so EVGA is unpredictable in the regards. But I would suggest people who are waiting for EVGA to add those cards to enter the queue for FE anyway, since you can easily cancel before making the payment.

They base it on availability. So custom cards like FTW and Classified are completely out as they are short supply. The rest are open season based on demand and stock levels. Only FE is available, so once the base iCX unit is out for awhile it might get added. SC and such get larger orders while FTW and above don't. It's really a waiting game at this point. I'll hold off until either the SC gets added or a hybrid cooler of some sort gets announced. I can't afford water cooling without my evga bucks to help and I'm not a fan of 100% fan speed on a shrouded blower fan. That's the only way reviewers got 2ghz on the cards.
