What is the best way to contact EVGA about step up? I'm kind of bummed that the 1080 Ti didn't ship today. It looks like for most people it either goes out the day received or the day after. They received mine yesterday.

I'd wait. They explicitly saying 1-3 days so despite what happened to everyone else they're still within their range. You might have to get some new stock from their warehouse or something might be wrong with your card. I'd call them on the very last day of the window though, just to see what's up.

You could of course just call support anyways, though I'm pretty sure they will just tell you that RMA/Stepup usually has  a 1-3 day window.

My card was supposed to arrive on March 30th, but the package was delayed on the 29th in California due to weather. Now my package won't get there until Monday. I hope it gets sent out within 24 hours so I'm not GPU-less another weekend. 4 days shipping from VA to California, should be the same coming back to me.

I'm extremely confused about how to receive my 1080 FTW2 from EVGA. They have already shipped it but what must I do when it is delivered? In the email it said I would need to sign in, and it gives me an option to sign it online, but it doesn't work, requiring me to do all these steps in the UPS website that idk how to do. Must I actually sign it when it arrives? Can someone else sign it? Can it just be left at the front door?

If there is a signature confirmation someone has to be home to sign for it. They can also hold it at the hub and you can go pick it up if no one is home during week days.

They send you a postcard in the mail with instructions to fully activate the account.
You can print a signature sheet for then to leave it at the door. Otherwise you could setup an alternate delivery location at an UPS store once you have fully activated your account.

So I'm entering myself into the 1080 Ti Step-Up and it's asking me for how much I paid for the product (1080 FTW2) but it's asking in CAD. I enter 905.85 CAD which is 679.99 USD converted and it says I must pay 0$. And that can't be right, so instead i enter 679.99 even thought it's asking for CAD. And yet again, i have to pay nothing. Why is this?

Edit: It was just glitched out I believe. I entered in with trial and error to find 679.99 USD from CAD.

Don't worry about it too much. I enter $910 cause it was a nice round number that was close to the actual $679.99 usd amount. When I got the email later about paying it has it listed as the proper $679.99 us. In other words they will correct it if need be.

Well, should've expected this. Apparently no one is at evga to accept my 1080 ftw so ups is going to try a second delivery.

Same boat as you. First delayed because of weather and then UPS tracking states delayed again due to wrong city on shipping label, although I printed the label that was provided in my shipping instruction email. Today the UPS tracking says "label corrected" and it has 1 day remaining for delivery. I am hoping for this coming Friday for delivery but do not expect it. Oh well, i just need to have patience. Good luck with yours.

I'm really liking the Founder's Edition and vapor chamber it uses. My case runs about 5C cooler with the Ti because it doesn't blow hot air into my case.

Drawbacks are that it gets warmer than the ICX card at full load, but the max I've seen is 75C in my case.

Does anyone have the answe to this?

On Your Products page, if you click on details, it will give the date for each part of the step-up.  It also gives a phone number to call if you need more than 14 days to ship your card back to them after receiving your RMA number.  I had two, EVGA GTX 1080 Classifieds and although I applied for the step-up and paid for the shipping for both on the same day, I didn't want to be without a computer so I shipped one card back, keeping the other in my computer.  Once it became apparent that by using UPS ground shipping, I wasn't going to be able to ship the second card back within the 14 day time frame, I called the number and was told that this happens all the time because of the many people who run SLI, and they put a note in my file that the second card would be delayed.  That's all it took.

I just shipped the second card back to them this morning after receiving my first GTX 1080ti FE yesterday, (Friday).  This time I'm using USPS Priority Mail and it turned out to be a bit cheaper than UPS and will get there on Monday.  With UPS Ground, I shipped on a Friday, and it didn't make it to EVGA until the following Thursday and was marked as received on Friday.  I live northwest of Chicago and using UPS, the package sat down at the Hodgekins Illinois UPS hub all weekend and didn't start moving until early Monday morning.  According to the tracking I'm getting from USPS, my second card has already been sent down to the main Chicago mail hub and is due to ship out sometime tonight.

So..., a long answer to a short question, but the site does say that the card should be received within 14 days, but they are very flexible and will work with you if you have a problem making the 14 day limit.  They were very nice and polite about it and took only a short phone call to take care of.  The legendary EVGA customer service is still alive and well!

By the way, the FE GTX 1080ti does show the advertised 30-35% improvement in performance, even over the higher clocked 1080 Classified, at least in benchmarks so far with the single card.  Not as 'flashy' in appearance as the Classified, but it does work and so far doesn't appear to run any hotter than the Classifed did.  Of course, I have a large, very well ventilated case with plenty of air flow.

It says business days, so they are essentially giving you 3 weeks to send it in.

While both of my FTW's where on the way to EVGA, I bought to 1080 Founders editions to use in the mean time.  I really can't hear the FTW's even at 100% fan speed over my other fans, but I was able to hear the 1080 FE's, just because their sound is more higher pitched like a jet engine.  I didn't really find it too distracting but your mileage may vary.

Ah.  Thanks.  That's interesting and quite makes sense.  Hmm, I wonder if my 55yr old ears would - because higher frequency discernment lessens with age - not be as bothered, if bothered is even the right word; perhaps not make more note of, the higher pitch.
It's academic really, as I'll step-up regardless, though I do notice the fans on the FTW if they spin up under load -- this in an R5 case with aftermarket fans and DH-15 -- but it's nothing untoward.  I presume at idle or unstressed tasking that the FE is relatively quiet enough not to be obtrusive.

Can someone please help me with cooling the 1080 TI? I finally got mine but I need a AIO cooler or a water cooling kit. I can't stand having the card run over 67C and I can't stand it being loud. Obviously the classified was cooler since it had EVGA's ACX cooler

I am waiting for the evga hybrid cooler but it's been out of stock for a week now. I need some sort of easy to install water cooling for this card. If someone could recommend one, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Yeah it will do until the AIO is released...  I was benchmarking last night and peaking at 60C at 100% fan.  It makes some noise but does a decent job and thankfully the fan noise doesn't bother me.

When I'm wearing the VR headset or headphones I can't hear it anyway.  :)

My case fans all run at 100% in my HAF X, so I can't really hear it. I like my motherboard to run cool, and it's usually about 31C in my case and my 5960X peaks at around 80C at 4.5GHz. The 1080i idles at 29C and about 70C full load, but since it's cool in my case, the fans don't kick in to full speed, so I can't hear it.

Thanks!  Checking that, I TIL'd, that it has spots for 3 200mm fans.  Impressive.  Even at 100% I imagine they aren't super loud in anyway.  Cool.  Nice idle temp on that GPU.

Re: 1080 TI FE Step Up Thread 2017/04/02 15:18:16 (permalink)
I actually changed all the fans recently to the red LED 200mm versions at $18 each. I've had the case for 9 years now and one of the fans broke. I added a second fan up top so that it has better airflow with more pull.

My Corsair H80i V2 is set up in a push-pull config, which makes it a bit bulky. I bought the eVGA 280mm CPU cooler, but have to take the case apart and fit it up top below the two 200mm fans that are pulling air out. The 2 fans on the 280mm will be pushing out at low RPM as the 200mm fans already do a fine job. I believe I'll have much lower temps with my 4.5GHz overclocked 5960x, but not so much because of the fans, but because of the double sized radiator.

Back on subject, I may decide to Hybrid kit the 1080 Ti, but that will be based on availability and after I see what kind of room I have left in my case after installing the new closed loop CPU cooler.

I feel you, in the same boat. If the card ships out Tuesday, it'll be close. I believe UPS delivers to residential addresses on the weekends, but only Saturday.

comrade

Thanks! This was helpful!

It says business days, so they are essentially giving you 3 weeks to send it in.

Didn't see this before. That page says both "days" and "business days". That relieves some stress.

What in the crap is this. I'm fairly sure somethings wrong with my step up. There is no way I just purchased an upgrade to ICX $100 along with original cost of $650 to have to pay an additional $130 to step up. I wouldn't have purchased the ICX upgrade if I was going to get shafted like this. I would have sold it outright and preordered and would have had my new card for the ~$300 including shipping this step up is costing me. The entire incentive was to get back original cost during stepup. I have now spent $750 on this ICX card and they are valuing it at $570. Granted I should loose out on that $100 as that was the cost to move to the ICX I shouldn't also loose out on original cost.
Cost Breakdown:
New Product
$699.99

Original Product
- $569.99

Step-Up Cost
$130.00

Shipping Cost
+ $12.12

Tax
+ $0.00

Total Cost
$142.12

Well, if you're on the part of the iCX upgrade, it should only be 99.99 + Shipping to them. But after that, from iCX to 1080 TI FE it'll be 20$ plus shipping to AND from EVGA. That is, if you got the 1080 FTW2.

I did have the SC but yes. As I look at my products page its listing my cost to step up at $130 not the $50+shipping it should be.
