It is pretty cool,looks like the resolution tops out at 1080p.
Probably all they could squeeze in for now.

Shame only the RSI Constellation is in the hanger I would have loved to check out my Captured Vanduul fighter and my Tanker. In due time I guess.
 
I still think its pretty cool they are opening some things up at this very very early stage of development.

I'm High Admiral and have the ghetto hangar still. Not sure I think their method of determining hangar version is correct at the moment.

I'm pondering doing a Rift hangar video in the next few days. Just working out the manual cfg settings for SBS mode for cryengine.

What kind of FPS are you guys getting in your hangars? I think there might be a problem with mine maybe. Im getting 8fps in the business hangar at 1080p very high settings on a single GTX 480. Seems a bit low to me. My friend with a GTX 260 gets higher fps than me with the same settings.

Considering that the GTX260 isn't a DX11 card, he must be preforming magic. Sure he doesn't have a GTX460? Windows 64 bit and DX11 are a hangar requirement.

Yep you're right. I told him to double check. He has a GTX 470. I was thinking maybe the game was running in dx10 or dx9 for him and thats why he was getting better fps than me. Didnt know it was DX11 only.

It's mostly to do with unoptimized art assets at the moment. Right now the basic hangar is totally bugged. The Deluxe hangar seems to be working ok though.

I've got an Elgato HDMI capture box coming from Newegg. Fraps does not work for what I need. I should be able to make the videos this weekend.

I might pledge one of these days.  The $80 package+$5 skin looks good.  Can you fly the air crafts yet or just walk around in the hangar?  Any info on if it'll be pay-to-win?  What does it mean when it says "# month insurance?"  I see it's also designed by the person who came up with EVE Online.  I liked EVE's concept but didn't like it enough to pay the monthly subscription.

 
 
If you plan on pledging, contact someone (that you know you can trust) that  is an original backer to buy the package for you. Otherwise you will not get lifetime hull insurance. (if your ship gets blown to itty bitty bits or stolen its replaced) If you do not have life time insurance then there will be hull cargo weapons insurance available in game but at a price  of in game currency. 
 
No you cant fly yet. the games early pre-alpha stages, its not due to be released for another 2 years.

It is the objective to absolutely not make the game pay to win. with the exception of the lifetime insurance on the hull any player is capable of capturing or buying any ship once the game is released. the packages being sold are simply perk insentives for supporting the development  of the game.
 
Chris Roberts is the founder of RSI he was the creator of games like Wing Commander and Freelancer. I am pretty certain he had nothing to do with EVE online but i could be mistaken.
 
The game with be free to play but as with all games it costs money to keep them going. Nothing in this worlds free. Servers, bandwidth and developers all cost money so there is already an option to purchase subscriptions to help continued ongoing development of the game.
 
So far almost 18 million dollars for development  has been payed entirely from players backing his dream. With no sponsorships or investors to worry about, the game will be truely be built by gamers.. for gamers. No middle man like EA out to make the profits for their share holders.

Just about everyone that posts in this thread is an original/veteran backer.

There are 3 levels of hangars available right now. It's based on ship size -- aurora and 300i get small, hornet and freelancer get medium, and Constellation gets large. There is also a 4th hangar type -- asteroid, but it's not ready yet. One would assume it'll be shown with both the Cutlass and the Caterpillar.
