So would someone like to race someone with two identical cars off the assembly line or whatever the manufacturing is now? I just think that would be a true test of driver ability...

What about the ability to build your car, to put everything together and then be able to handle it. Nobody wants to see 2 identical stock cars race.

Hey I never said I didn't like you. I have way more experience then you think. I don't call you names, like "ricer" or "sad person" I just call it like I see it. You have zero finesse off the line and rely on the all wheel drive to get your car moving. Put you in a non all wheel drive and all we would see is a smoky burn out.

That takes a different set of skills but whoever has more money will be able to hire someone to put the best mods or buy the best mods available in your price range and your car can be faster... I know you get what I'm saying and I inderstnad people don't want to watch cars identical race but most spectators only care about the sound or speed they don't care about driver skill..

A Porsche Boxster is not a race car. Even the high-end Porsche 911's have all-wheel drive. If you drive one of those 911s, then you might have some room to talk. The Boxster is no where close to a race car. Just because the name plate says Porsche, does not mean it's a race car. I'd take a 914 over that Boxster all day.

LOL! I also love the Amphacar, but have to agree with you, as the 914 is within the same realm as the Boxster. It is just newer sheet metal.

Amphacar is cool though. It sucks as both a car and a boat but still has a cool factor to it. Not the same can be said for the other 3 cars mentioned

I was really only here waiting for the same couple people to have the exact same argument they have in every single thread that is even remotely about cars. As for your incident.....I picked 3 months 4 days in the "how long till Rush wrecks it" pool. You really did me a disservice crashing it so quickly

bill1024 Hey Rush, you did say the insurance will not pay for your car to be fixed? If so, did they give a reason and can you appeal?
They said because they only give 3 days to change the policy, So they were offering me to fix the other car, But we paid cash to fix his car. I'm not really trippin' to be honest, We ordered the parts, $1,000 so far, We'll see what else we really need while fixing it. I'm not going to appeal it, It's cool. I don't need that insurance increase anyways lol

We could argue, but it would not matter. AWD is much better at launch. Since there is a lesser chance of spin-out, the non-racer, like yourself, would perform much better in that instance. I like your imagination. I guess you think that labels matter and guts don't.

How much more is necessary to get the car back into shape? Are you still driving it? Did you add it to the policy yet, as you may have to show it fixed before you do?

Huh? Non-racer? Labels? Imagination? What on earth are you talking about? Well, I've raced a lot of my life at Mission Raceway Park. Both down the strip in a Mustang and and I was a member of the SCCBC and raced my purpose build FWD Honda Civic on the road course. I have never raced an AWD car or found the need to. While AWD is great at launch, if we are talking about a road course which I find much more entertaining, then you only really do that once......or if it is a rolling start like most are these days you don't even need to launch from a stand still.

Okay, but I dragged raced a 1971 'Cuda with a 440 cubic inch monster under the hood that I rebuilt myself from 1980 through 1893. I had Mickey Thompson tires (40's on the back, 50's on the front) on this beast. I grew up close to Heidelberg Raceway in Bridgeville, PA. They used to have a NASCAR race there many, many years ago. I have also done laps there, but I was very young. I do not think that makes me a racer. For road courses there is the opinion that RWD is good, if you like drifting. I just like the control of AWD in most any situation. This is just my opinion. As for the other stuff, when you talk too much you leave yourself open to those things. I now see where the "ricer" comment comes from. Never raced a four banger and I would never consider it.

Wow a Cuda that is awesome. With a 440 too, much better than the hemi IMO. My uncle had a Green Super-Bee with a 440 Six pack and pistol grip 4 speed....that thing was awesome. I think dude if you are involved in the race scene, invest time and money into it, have 100+ passes down the track and spent as much time at track days as you could then I think that would constitute someone as being a racer. You don't have to be a pro to be a racer, just like you don't have to be using LN2 and setting overclocking records to be a computer enthusiast. As for the four banger it was really fun, reliable, and the car was damn fast around the track.

I live in a racing town, Indianapolis. I go the Indy 500 each year. I have many friends in this business today, as they are mainly related to the Indy circuit. I liked the work in rebuilding the car. I do not have the time today, although I like getting out on the Speedway and have taken some laps very strongly with my Infiniti, which is AWD. I like to go fast in those circumstances but do not have the time to invest into this, like I did when I was much younger. Although the Boxster saved Porsche, I really do not call that a racing car. The 911 GT-3 is though.

Guys, you can race anything. If it's on a track and you've set the car up for track use, it's a race car. That being said, this thread is a prime example of the internet. Egos and cat pictures.

They keep lying and making up stories and such. I think the only real person here that races is Bill and Winvert since Bill had his car in a magazine and Win has the tickets and videos. But for sure I am the one that is considered the REAL racer because I play a lot of racing games like Forza and NeedForSpeed.

You have no clue to the Boxster racing heritage. The car from factory is a high performance machine. This AWD stuff lol watch a heavier less powered Camaro Z/28 show the Nissan GTR hows it's done on a track.
