Guys, you can race anything. If it's on a track and you've set the car up for track use, it's a race car. That being said, this thread is a prime example of the internet. Egos and cat pictures.
This very true. I love me some cat pictures. It only takes 2 of anything or a timer to have a race. Many egos and fishermen.

You guys are way off topic. Aren't we supposed to be talking about Rush's fail as per admin?

It really bothers you that not everyone is against me, Doesn't it? I still don't even know who you are lol.

No. Also, don't care. In that specific order. Just pointing out a fact.

Although the Boxster saved Porsche, I really do not call that a racing car.  The 911 GT-3 is though.

You have no clue to the Boxster racing heritage. The car from factory is a high performance machine.

This AWD stuff lol watch a heavier less powered Camaro Z/28 show the Nissan GTR hows it's done on a track.

Nice video. I really like the GT-R even though the Carmaro beat it by 0.13 seconds. That is really not that much, but I understand at 100 MPH it really is.

Hey Rush, you did say the insurance will not pay for your car to be fixed?
If so, did they give a reason and can you appeal?

They said because they only give 3 days to change the policy, So they were offering me to fix the other car, But we paid cash to fix his car.

I'm not really trippin' to be honest, We ordered the parts, $1,000 so far, We'll see what else we really need while fixing it. I'm not going to appeal it, It's cool. I don't need that insurance increase anyways lol

How much more is necessary to get the car back into shape?  Are you still driving it?  Did you add it to the policy yet, as you may have to show it fixed before you do?

I'm not 100% Sure how much it's going to cost me overall, Yes, I'm currently driving it. I just got a no insurance ticket last night (They stopped me to check my tags, Which they also gave me a ticket for not having any even though I told them I just bought the car, They said it shows that they were issued already)

I'll go get it fixed. I can't add it to the policy because they want pictures of the car.

They keep lying and making up stories and such. I think the only real person here that races is Bill and Winvert since Bill had his car in a magazine and Win has the tickets and videos.  But for sure I am the one that is considered the REAL racer because I play a lot of racing games like Forza and NeedForSpeed.

I don't qualify?  I mean, I've raced my 2013 at the dragstrip a couple of times AND I drove a NASCAR race car.

So let them get the pictures......that seems like a heck of an idea instead of driving around a brand new car with no insurance.....what am I missing here?

If I were to be in an accident, My insurance is covering like if it's liability right now.

If they took pictures of the car for full coverage right now, Then I get it fixed and lets say I rear end someone, They'll deny my claim -_-.

Randy Pobst did the driving, not Motor Trend. He does it for several publications. I think you're having a hard time with American cars getting better and better and Motor Trend showing the evidence of this. I've had to fix more problems on my daughters Mitsubishi Eclipse then any car I have ever owned. I will never by a Japanese car again.

My Boxster is a marvel of German engineering. Mid engine, great handling, excellent weight distribution and it's not slow by any means. Has a rear spoiler that deploys and retracts depending on your speed for additional down force. How many cars had that feature in 2003? With 116k miles on it, there is zero rust on it, interior is in perfect shape, it's like the car is in a time capsule.

What is it you don't understand? It doesn't matter if the video is from Motor Trend, the fact is he set the record for fastest time in a production car. Do you think all other production car drivers were sand bagging it? He beat all other production cars period, he is a fabulous driver.

what i understand is that everything coming out of motor trend for the last couple years is nothing but a blatant GM advert. Not sure how anyone can't see that unless your just blind or so overly loyal to GM you chose to ignore it.

Damn bro, you just got the car.  I have a GT mustang also and haven't ever hit anything with it.  You gotta share the road my man.  That is what it is all about.  The car isn't a toy, although it is marketed as one.  Anyway hopefully you can get it fixed and you don't hike up your insurance.

Also you had flowmasters on it? WHY?  Ford makes excellent mufflers for this car from the factory stock.

He got cut off in traffic and rearended someone

^ This.

Some chick was at a stop sign to the right of us, I was behind another car just going down the street and the chick decided to jump not into the lane to the right of us (The clear lane) But to the SECOND land where we were driving... She had to pass the clear lane and go to the lane WE were on, Which caused the guy in front of my to slam his brakes, To which I slammed my brakes and they locked.

Going to talk to the dealership about that. They're some huge rotors and they keep locking up when you need to brake hard.

Ahh I see here now.  Well, all I can say is... yeah you need 20' to stop any car.  Doesn't matter what it is.  I got reareneded once because the dummy behind me was in a big push and someone failed to yield from a stop sign.  My car got fixed though.  Person that rear ends the other person typically is at fault.  So $5000 from the insurance company and my car was better than it was before it got hit (needed more repairs in that area).

Your car isn't totaled is it?  I can't for sure see if there is frame damage but I'm no body man anyway.

Seems kinda a waste of money bro.  You took off brand new parts and replaced them with brand new parts that will annoy other drivers a little bit more.  But on the other hand, at least this isn't silly like what I saw the other day, which was a Fiat with mufflers swapped out.  It was loud, and totally pointless on a silly little car hehe.

You're going to get brembos after you had an accident?  Good luck bro but if you have very little stopping distance, it doesn't matter what brakes you have, the car still will slide if you lose traction.  You already have ABS and traction control as well as a high quality brake caliper system from Ford.  Look at the other guy's thread though, a 65 mustang barely has any brakes on it.  I have seen with my own eyes, at least on the Falcon which is basically the same car.  I have seen VW beetles from the same year have much beefier brakes stock.  What you have is a much, much more upgraded vehicle over the old stuff.  I wouldn't change out the brakes unless you're pushing 600 + horses out of the car and it is necessary to (btw I don't suggest doing this! because if you add more power to a commuter car, you are BOUND to get into a big slam of an accident, let alone a lot of tickets from the cops.  that stuff is better off saved for the track.  most people buy cars with about ~ 165 horsepower in them because it is all they need and pretty much all they want, avoids trouble).  People were adding brembos and whatnot to SUVs after they upgraded the performance in them since the vehicle is really heavy also.   Save some cash, man.

And yeah the parts are expensive.  Aluminum hood, fender work, body work, prep, paint.  To repair the front clip of the vehicle might cost over 5 grand.

But hey man, at least it wasn't your fault and you drive safe.  That is important over all.

And yeah the parts are expensive.  Aluminum hood, fender work, body work, prep, paint.  To repair the front clip of the vehicle might cost over 5 grand.

But hey man, at least it wasn't your fault and you drive safe.  That is important over all.

I was going to get brembos with insurance money, But since it's not covering me, I'm going to leave it alone. I tried the braking thing, IT stopped fine, But the problem is it jumps a lot. I checked for a fix and it turns out, All the bushings are shady, So I'll be upgrading the bushings on the IRS which will help with traction on takeoff and braking.

That shouldn't cost much, I'm waiting for BMR to release them officially. Shouldn't be too much.

The guy who doesn't know that when you take your foot off the throttle in a corner when driving an AWD car it will under steer? He is the non-bias driver for the non-bias motor trend? I never would have guessed

Randy is a straight shooter....he sets the time that he sets regardless of the car he is in.

Darn Rush, you gotta stop getting tickets. Put the car in the garage. If you do not, you'll continue to take money that could go toward the car and give it to the city. I like my money too much. I had a bunch of tickets over the years. I got tired of the higher insurance and in giving my money to whatever city was ticketing me, so I slowed down. I got two here lately being inpatient and running late to a golf tee time (of all freaking things) and hated to spend that money. Even had to do the freaking defensive driving on-line course. What a joke that was.

Yea I only tend to speed or do stupid driving on this one road out in the desert. I'm not putting anyone in danger and there are never cops out there.

I honestly can't believe all your grown ass men are acting like little kids on the playground. It honestly looks sad when I come in here and watch you guys fight over the same thing for 10+ pages. Let people believe what they want and MOVE ON.
