i have an issue i could use some help with. ive followed all the info thru this site, watched the video on installing updating bios on you tube every one throws around. i followed it to a t and still get a boot to black screeen on my 4080fe.
ive tried all the bioses and have the same issue. i can connect to the igpu on my 12900k, install a clean win 11, itll run fine, except if i reboot in win itll just shutdown and not boot properly. as soon as i install my 4080fe i get a black screen on boot, i can tell its in windows but it wont show the desktop. also itll give me a d6 d7 code and not boot sometimes. the ram and cpu and gpu worked fine in a z790 and on my am5 x670e motherboard. im just hoping theres some fix i missed. i did an rma last year and it did the same thing on the rma mobo i received. could this be a bad cpu? any help would be appreciated, im trying to put my classy to work for another build

    D6 = No gpu detected.

    Sounds like you got yourself a dead gpu. Other possibilities could be a faulty slot, or card not seated correctly.

    Also found this reddit thread with comments about what to do if the screen goes black and doesn't come back. https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/s/v9SNfdBvkm

    I would also suggest checking the slot as Sajin suggested. You can do a visual check, but easiest thing to do is try a different one. It is easy to not have them fully inserted. You're not using a riser are you?

    the gpu is 100 percent fine, im using it now. the pcie slot works with my 1080ti, but i had the same exact  issues with the rma i received. i do have the gpu updated already with the nvidia tool. no not using a riser, although i have used a riser on the same gpu in another build and it worked fine. i was just hoping there was something evga figured out since last time ive been on. i have zero issue with the same cpu/gpu on another mobo and zero issues with the same gpu on my am5 build. is there a certain way to fully reset the mobo? i took out the battery for a while and when i set everything up again it still had the time and date. thanks for the info guys

    So I flashed bios without cpu to 2.12. Went fine. Added cpu and ram, booted it and it posted with hdmi connected to the board. I disabled fast boot . Rebooted it with display port connected to mobo and I get no display, it shows it posted into bios but no display. Rebooted it same configuration and it keeps posting and rebooting in a loop . So I’m thinking it’s some issue with display port and this board, I haven’t added my 4080fe yet since I can’t even get display port on the mobo to work

    Hope this fixes the issue, please give an update after the CPU swap.

    I'd also---> Inspect those CPU socket contacts, after you pull the old CPU

    the new cpu didnt help, i have issues with any bios greater than 2.0 i installed 1.15, still had some issues but now it boots every time and displays on, i did notice on bios 2.12 that itd loose my 4080 fe, it wouldnt show up in bios or the os randomly.  now im conflicted whether to keep this as my daily or find something else, im afraid if im in a critical spot and need my pc i might be out of luck. on 2.12 if i restarted it in windows or save and exited bios id loose display thru my 4080, but it comes back after i turn it off and back on. the 4080 works perfectly in other systems.

    are evga bioses comulative?

    edit now that i thought about it, when i was running this board and all the 2.0+ bioses came out i could never get them to install or work right, even with the rma so i guess i just wasted my whole weekend lol

    Any bios revision could introduce problems. That is why it's recommend not to update your bios unless you're having issues. Sounds like you might need to sell your 4080fe, and find another 4080 of a different brand that is more compatible with the newer bios revisions if you need the newest bios to correct a specific issue. Otherwise just stay on bios revision 2.0, and call it a day, or swap the evga motherboard out with a different brand from some other vendor.

    I’ve been updating Bios’s for the past twenty years with zero issues, ever, the 4080fe has worked fine on two other z790 mobos and an am5 mobo, i had the same issue with my 3080ti and this board , all my issues come from this mobo, I was hoping that this issue with this board would have been figured out by somebody, I just like this board and hoped for a fix.

    If I remember correctly, the 2.0+ BIOS revisions were specifically targeted for 13th gen support. I'm not sure if there are any updates past that beneficial to 12th gen CPUs. Most people can run the later BIOS versions with their 12th gen (the first few 2.x versions were...rough), but I recall a few people with 12th gen that had better luck with the 1.15.

    In any case, you shouldn't be having the issues you're having and seeing that you're also having memory issues, I think you might be in for some tiresome troubleshooting. I don't know what you're running, but I'd say with this board (which I have), and 12th gen, you likely can't get past 6000MT/s on 2-DIMMs. That's what I ran with 12900k and what I still run with 13900k because this board wouldn't tolerate over ~6400 for me. G.Skill has been mostly good for me. Sajin's link should help you find compatible kits.

    Looking into this I see you were communicating with us via our support ticket system and we recommend to proceed with an RMA for the board. If you have any questions or issues for the process please contact us for support.
