On my new build, I am getting random "XX has changed, do you want to enter setup?" messages almost every time I boot. The hardware it identifies is always random, but includes M.2 storage mode, SATA mode, memory and CPU. When I enter the BIOS, everything looks the same, and when I save, "no changes". What's going on here?

Does a cmos clear help sort the problem? Is your bios fully up to date? Does the issue occur on older and newer bios versions?

I recently updated to the latest bios (1.05), and unfortunately am still seeing this issue.
What do the messages actually mean? When it says "CPU has changed", does that mean it thinks I've installed a new CPU? That said, when I go into setup, and save, it says "no changes".
I'll look into changing the battery, thanks for that. How would the battery relate to these messages?

Yep, it thinks you put in a different cpu.

Occassionaly getting a similar message on bootup as follows: "data mode has changed do you want to enter setup." Going into setup and saving it says nothing has changed. It's only happened a few times since building the system a few weeks ago. Everything at default settings, nothing overclocked, running latest bios (1.08) and video drivers (5730). Shutting down and doing second boot usually fixes it.

Today on first bootup, similar situation with a little different message: "CPU/SATA mode has changed do you want to enter setup." On reboot, system powers up no problems.. Will try clearing CMOS and also changing battery.

Thanks for the response but no dice on CMOS clear or putting in a fresh battery. Today similar issues. On first boot this morning computer stopped at the A6 code and there was no video to the monitors. On doing a reset, came up with the warning about SATA change in Bios and do you want to enter Setup? Clicked no and rebooted and everything booted normally. Noticed somebody else got the A6 code on boot with no video and someone suggested going into BIOS and deleting everything from the boot order except Hard Drive/Windows. When I went into the BIOS, everything was checked with first boot device being Hard Drive/Windows. So I deleted all the other stuff like from USB, CD Rom, Network, etc. Will repost to see if this corrects the issue. Note: the system always eventually boots up in spite of this error, but it's a real pain booting every few days and getting thrown into setup because of reconfigured BIOS settings which never happened. Thanks again...

I had the same issue with previous bioses. I have the 1.09 right now and I don't remember having this issue with this one. I'll post it here if this happen again.

Sorry - Guess I wasn't specific enough on the MB info. It's the KingPin edition and the latest Bios seems to be just version 1.08.

Well after all is said and done, the final fix to this issue appears to be configuring the boot order devices to show only Windows/Hard Drive as first boot device leaving all the other options underneath empty. So far so god with no more boot up errors. Thanks to everyone in the group.

OS Drive was always listed as first boot device; problem I think was there were other devices listed under there as second, third, fourth boot devices such as USB, CD Rom, Network etc. Once they were all removed, I haven't gotten the boot up error since saying "Bios settings have changed, do you want to enter Setup?" Not sure why secondary boot devices would cause this, only that the error has since gone away. Thanks again.
