We've all been there when our PC flakes out. I'm still waiting for my hair to grow back from when my second video board kept disappearing from its PCI-E slot. The nice doctors will give you some good medicine and everything will be all better. LOL

You could always try reseating the CPU like I mentioned earlier. Depending on the amount of airflow through your case and how much humidity you have where you live, it might have caused an issue where the pins contact the CPU base. I haven't seen too many, if any, complaints about Intel's CPUs failing after being in service for this long. It won't take very long to try, about 20 minutes, and what do you have to lose?

There doesn't seem to be too many Z77 motherboards left. I have one of these but it only handles a dual SLI setup: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157293
The ASRock is in a PC I built for my sister and it works OK but it had to be RMA'd once. I have a brand new RMA replacement MSI Z77A-G45 Gaming motherboard I could sell you if you can't find anything else. I have a heatware account but I haven't had time to get a PayPal account set up.

I like my 4790k. It doesn't need any OC since it has a 4.4GHz boost from Intel. There are a lot of choices for a Z97 motherboard. I wish I could have afforded the MSI XPower for 4way-SLI:

ASUS and EVGA both make very high-end motherboards that will support 3-way and 4-way SLI. I am just partial to MSI for now. I went with MSI video boards because they were over $100 less than the EVGA equivalent at the time but now that they match my motherboard's color scheme exactly it looks like I'm going to be keeping them for a while.

Re: nvlddmkm.sys BSOD 2015/06/30 09:20:50 (permalink)
The only EVGA motherboard I've ever owned and still own is the E-173 750i SLI. I got it as B-Stock for $30 and couldn't pass it up at that price. I never tried to OC my Q6600 but the board was very solid. What scares me away from EVGA motherboards is the price and the numerous complaints I see. The high failure rates and BIOS complaints are unnerving to me even though many owners will swear by them.
