Hoping someone might have some insight on getting this to work. I have some G.Skill RAM F4-3600C16D-32GTZR (2x16GB) 16-16-16-36 and it won't boot in Gear 1. Setting XMP and 3600, Auto Gear, will boot in Gear 2. I've tried upping VCCIO, settings timings manually, etc. I also tried Command Rate 2 because I  know that was the setting in my Gigabyte board. Won't work. I'm at a loss right now. Anything I might be missing?

I tested XMP 3200, 3333, 3467, all in Gear 1, Command Rate 1, all others auto, and no problems at all.

The system will get to the splash screen then restart. It will do this several times then just go to a black screen with no display. The post code showed 7F which in the manual it says it's basically a placeholder.

I have an 11700k and I know for a fact that both the memory and the CPU will run at the XMP settings in Gear 1, Command Rate 2, because it worked flawlessly on the Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Pro AX. Hoping to not have to return this board.

Any help is appreciated.

When you set your memory speed, what does your bclk say it is set at on the cpu oc tab? I did have one situation (can't remember exactly what) that caused my bclk to try and set itself really high, which obviously wouldn't boot because it was then trying to set my cpu at something like 7.5GHz. I think it had to do with the memory toggling the ratio clock it works from between 100Mhz and 133MHz. I had to go back and set fclk to 100 after setting the memory speed to get it to boot. Since then I started from optimized defaults and didn't have that issue, but I did see it once. Your post about the ratios in the other thread reminded me of it.

don't return the board.  wait for the first BIOS update.

I am running my 64gb of ram at defaults because I was not stable at gear 1.  and I could only boot at 3333.

surely system stability and memory support will be part of the first post release bios an I will wait.

Just one other thing to check. if you look at the manual page (p26), did you make sure your memory was in the right slots? Should be 2 and 4. I saw someone bring this up in the other thread, but didn't see you answer so it's just one more thing to look at.

Yes, correct slots lol. I did check bclk and it's always been 100. I really like the board itself, it feels quality, but this XMP thing is ridiculous.
I know there's no QVL but the memory kits I have are on the QVL for EVGA's Z390 & Z490 boards.
On this topic, does anyone know what memory topology this board is? That might be the answer.

It could also be some of the other timings, like secondary and third timings, outside of the standard primary ones that the board is setting incorrectly though I would have no idea what they should be. There's like 30 of them haha.

I'm in the same boat and hoping a new bios would help.
Running G.Skill F4-4000C16D-32GVKA (4000 16-16-16-36 1.4V) I load the XMP1 and set the speed to 3733 and Gear 1 manually, all which is well within the RAM abilities and should be achievable on 11900K, and it just won't boot.
    I'm in slot 2 and 4

4000 16-16-16-36 from XMP works fine but will default to Gear2.

Yeah, I am not so sure everyone will be able to run 3733MHz gear 1. That According to Igor's lab and some other sources, there is a bit of silicon lottery involved there. I know it was an MSI chart, but if you go to that link and look at what they have, it shows the possible memory configurations and while 3600MHz is green as in "everybody should be able to do this", the 3733 and 3866 are in the "your mileage may vary" category. I think the z590 FTW even has some notes there about those being hard to boot.

That said, you have a very similar kit as me. I had to bump mine up to 1.45V to get it stable at 3733MHz 16-16-16-36, but mine is default at 4000MHz 16-19-19-39 1.4V. I don't think you should have to bump yours up, but you could try it. I'd be surprised if that kit couldn't handle it. You could even try 1.425V just to see if a little bump gets you there. They also indicate on that page that bumping up the VCCIO Memory Voltage (Not VCCIO Voltage, I think EVGA calls it VCCIO_Aux) a little may help stabilize memory settings and to make sure that the SA (System Agent) Voltage is between 1.25-1.3V. Again, this was based on another board, but those were the findings they had for the most stable memory settings. You can check the owners thread to see what tuanmassey and I posted for our voltages there. Ours were in "auto" mode, but if yours is doing something strange you could try to adjust it manually. It sounds like Igor's Lab expected to see some board manufacturers' VSA being higher than it should be and that stability could be found by lowering it.

The crappy thing is that Intel only guarantees 3200MHz on these. I don't know what causes peoples' mileage to vary or why you two are having trouble with kits so similar to ones others have gotten working. Hopefully if there isn't a setting you can find to fix, eventually there's a BIOS update with some stability improvements.

Great tips! I was able to get it to work in gear 1 (3733 16-16-16-36) based on your feedback. See screen captures below. Now to see if I can get past 5.2GHz with this CPU...

I tried all those and nothing. This is sad. Went through one at a time when eventually hitting all of the settings at the same time. I even tried 3733 just in-case 3600 was for some reason glitched.

Looks like I'm waiting for a BIOS update though I'm not very hopeful it will help.

What happens if you use only 2 matching sticks in slot 2 and 4?
There are issues with using different kits (even of the same models). Same happened to me, where I ordered 2 sets of 2 DIMM for a previous build. One set was Samsung, the other was Micron, same part numbers.

I read that Mobo traces might effect, like when have 4 DIMM Slots each set might behave differently with respect to the maximum clock that slot can achieve. But I think this is also on the new IMC that Intel downgraded on the Rocket Lake CPUs. 3733 should be okay. But 3866 and 4000 are hard, latter is unicorn level rare on a binned B-Die.

Is that in gear 1? CL14 at that speed is not bad at all.

no luck with these F4-5333C22D-16GTEG kits either.  sure would be nice to see a dang bios update on this motherboard.

You can't run 5333 gear 2? The spec says "5100MHz+ (OC)" and I have been wondering what the limits were.

nope.  stuck in a boot loop if i set XMP profile and gear 2.  pretty lame to be honest.  I bumped VSA and VICCO voltage up as well.

I have 8 sticks of premium DDR4 here and I am only stable at 2133?  not good.

Did you try backing it down to 5100 just to see if it made a difference?
