Looking back in the thread I see someone talking about runing with HT off. With it off you will get higher Gflops. Temps should be a bit lower also.

Lu523 your GFlops in LinX are too low for your cpu and clock speed to be using the latest linpak binaries. Please download and use the version in the opening post of this thread.

Thanks.

Indeed but you will have only 6 thread... So actually it will be actually half the computing output... Granted each thread my run slightly faster...

I agree with you. Depending on what you do HT is well worth it. I run WCG, so I use HT.

Agreed. I also had another member look at it and they felt the same.

Lu523, you need to do some work there buddy. Your GFlops are too low for your cpu and clock speed. Also set the test for 20 runs so it shows finished without errors.

Thanks.

I'll OC my 950 but I'm not going to do it on my own. I need someone with experience actually here with me. I just would feel better. Plus I think I would learn more if it was explained in spoken words. I can't read much as I'll bore too quickly :P

Would love to AC this thing to get it to 4.2, especially now that I have it WCed. But alas I know no one in my area (well know personally) that knows diddly about this stuff lol

Yea, that's Intel Speed step dropping the multi down to x12 during idle, if you look at my everest sidebar it shows the true CPU speed. Look at the Bus speed, its 216.5

Your Gflops stayed constant and shows your clock speed was definitely up there. Show a screenshot or snipping tool pic of cpu-z with the higher multi in the same test submission post. Also correct your listed info to reflect what cpu-z shows as your clock speed if needed. You posted 4.557Ghz, but Everest sidebar shows 4.544Ghz.

Ok thanks, ill fix it. just glad i dont have to do that again, cuz i can only stress at that speed when its like 50 degrees ambient temps on my case lol. Otherwise ill be breaching 85c.

Re:X58 Stability Club 2011/04/07 11:38:47 (permalink)
Ok I fixed it. Not sure what to put for CPU speed. Mine is (217 x 21=4557mhz), but in CPU-Z its (216.5 x 21= 4546.5)
So which one can I put?

For example, If I use 200 bclk and x21 multi, that gives me 4.2ghz, but in CPU-Z its 4189.5mhz. Would that still qualify? If so, then keep mine at (217x21=4557mhz)

Thanks again!

We are using the cpu-z speed for everyone. So if cpu-z doesn't show your clock higher then the other person's cpu-z clock speed then that person's bios clock is also above yours.

Make sense?

Sounds good to me. I was just curious about the minus .5 bclk we lose when in windows. I think people with 200x21 should still get the 4.2ghz stability club, even though cpu-z says 4189.5mhz

What do you think?
