rafale kram36 Appreciate you running these test. Kind of hard to call that stable. They did pass the test without errors though, just not optimized for the best performance. What would you call it? Stable or not? I would call them stable but we probably would want to add a separate ranking by Gflops. joeomerta sorry to clutter the thread but does the skull in the signature's say 4.2 + MHz? Yes it does. I'll look into doing some work on the way the club listing is done and get these guys put into the club list. Really appreciate the help on this. Never noticed the Mhz inside the skull before. I'll check with Drerex to see if he feels like changing it. Might also see if he can downsize the banner a little bit. With the TOS signature size requirement it doesn't leave much for anything else in your sig. I already got a PM from a mod that I was over the signature size limit when I added two lines of text to the bottom of my signature. BTW: Some of you guys are way over the limit on the TOS signature size. Just want to point this out as you can be expecting a pm from a mod about it one day. The signature size is 770 x 250 pixels and is also the size of area you have to work with where you put your signature info in on your profile.

woot ^^ looks like I'm pointing out something strange... after a crash while trying to solve my memory bandwidth problem (trying to go through the 900 wall), i cleared CMOS for the hundredth time since last week, restored defaults, re-applied my usual settings (basic peripherials settings + 24/7 voltages and cpu Multiplier 30x) the ONLY thing I changed is UNCORE from [Auto] to 4000MHz I mistakenly "save & exit" without touching RAM settings and rebooted on my memtest86+ cd.... and faced someting odd: my usual memory bandwidth with XMP default settings (DRAM Ratio 2:12) (9-9-9-24-88-2T) is around 12300 MB/s (and 8GBytes reported instead of the 12 installed IF set BY SPD because of 1T), but this time it reported an incredible increase to 16258 MB/s @ 664MHz... and 12GB installed... so: 1T AND 12Gb ok + HUGE bandwidth bump: **** :o went back to bios setup and the only things that weren't usual: 1T command rate [Auto] along with all my ram reported and tRFC =107 ([Auto], instead of the usual [Auto]=88) I just don't understand how or why, but the result is: ------------------------------- Thanks to Rafale who provided valuable info and support: Core i7 980X Batch #: 3020A457 CPU clocked at: 4.2445Ghz Voltage: 1.411v (vdrop off) - under load Idle temps: 19, 25, 32, 34, 29, 39 Load temps: 91, 93, 86, 87, 95, 93 GFlop peak: 80.2963 Uploaded with ImageShack.us -------------------------- Now, I have to rework the voltages because UNCORE @ 4000 makes the stuff WAY too hot despite the lower CPU frequency, won't try anything higher in clock until I find the ideal vcore for these settings... and may add "Find info on how UNCORE works" on my To-Do list

If it could be wider, it would be better. The new sig requirements are no too restrictive it width. I don't know if it would help displaying the clock a little better.

Your Vcore seem pretty low. Being able to run 2000MHz on the memory with only 1.375V on the VTT is also nice. Do you only have 6gb of RAM?

Not quite the same board, I have an E759. That Vcore that you are seeing is what is set in BIOS but Vdroop is enabled. Idle voltage is 1.517V and load is approx. 1.458V, so when loaded it is not quite that bad. And yes, I am on water...rather everything is on water except for DRAM. Ambient approximately 22C IIRC
