I can understand where they are coming from. One of the big changes I'm making with the chat program before I take my new site completely live is rewriting the backend of it to implement more and better security and administrative features that it currently lacks. Maybe if they want to make some arrangement with me I can share my source with them.

I think with the changes I'm implementing it would be easier and more desirable for them to use. If not, everyone is welcome to use mine!

We should just switch to IRC based chat. In my opinion there aren't any good web-based chat clients. IRC with the X-Chat 2 or the Irssi client are the best solution.

Maybe I should create an #evga chatroom over on FurNET or AnthroChat IRC.

at the very least, it could be added as a hyperlink on the top of the main menu, i dont think their are many liabilities that way, but still a little bit of an issue but i think that might be a good way to resolve this. that way he doesnt have to moderate it and skydive can setup his own moderators if he wants.

I dunno... After using IRC for years, everything else just feels "Meh." IRC seems to have the most advanced features. And besides, ASP is just horrible.

problem being that skydive lets things fly in his chat that evga wouldn't.  and then people will undoubtedly end up there for support and he have to explain that its not related to EVGA at all.  the way it is now works.  just evga needs to get it setup again already.

This really makes no sense at all.  I have yet to have anyone show up on my site asking for EVGA support.  Aside from that, very shortly my new company name will be plastered all over it, they will have a new registration / validation process and there will be no mistaking they are not at an EVGA related site. (as if there was any question currently)

i was referring to eviling with the hyperlinking from EVGA.  Its inevitable someone would end up there then for support, where as now its those of us that do know about it.

You need to slow down. You're not young anymore! [trollface]

Actually, I really can't say anything. I've quite literally been working around the clock for some time now and it caught up with me this week.  Immune system finally got worn out and I've been down with fever and other fun stuff.

EVGA forums chat Wednesday, June 06, 2012 0:07 PM (permalink)
I wish there was a chat system much like gchat implemented in the forums. That way i could strike up a conversation with any one of the very intelligent people on the forums at anytime if they were online instead of dealing through PM and not needing to know a skype name or anything.

i think it would be pretty cool to just have a sidebar with all of the online users listed and you can just click on whoever you want to talk to and start up a conversation.

what does everyone else think? yay or nay?
