I would theoretically buy a 6800XT for a reasonable price, but I think the price will be reasonable by the time a 3070 is as well.. And considering I might need CUDA support in the near future, AMD will sadly have a skip from me :p

The only reason to buy a 3070/ti is if you absolutely need a card and can't get anything else at msrp.(or as close to it as you can get) Those 8gigs are going to be a huge limitation.

Well prices indeed seem to have gone down a bit.
I am beginning to see 3080 for 1400 plus shipping and 3080ti for 1700
gputracker eu is a great place to track prices.....
It covers most of the big stores some local small ones are not shown but you get a good overview.

From my own experiences and what I've seen others say - stock is absolutely not the issue. We're at a point where stock is constant, the prices are high enough that most don't want to buy it(for example, think it was jimms.fi from Finland where there was a decent sized stock that lasted ~1 week, at prices lower than most places). I can look at larger retailer sites and they always have stock, for a month or so at this point.. Just the pricing is skewed :D That's just my personal observations, good luck to those who need a card and will pay the price if they see a card :) random_matt

FYI, a major pc retail store in Spain had a sale of several products, including GPUs, and one of them was the 3080 ti FTW3 Ultra at its MSRP price (1500€, 21% VAT included). There are 2 things noteworthy, first that the "sale" was to put the GPU at its MSRP (default price right now is 2000€), the second one is that you could see how many units were on "sale" and there were 90+ GPUs at that price. If you ever wondered where did the EVGA European GPUs go, there you have your answer.

Its clear EVGA is not focused on the EU. The real question is what are your own EU focused AIB manufacturers doing - do they even have a queue? The EU laws are not friendly to non-EU companies so you can start by blaming the EU and taking back your sovereignty as a first step. At least you have retail availability of cards - even if they're marked up. There is no retail availability/stock whatsoever here in the US... the average person has to buy from shady scalpers, you can still buy from a proper retailer. The retail markups means there is no secondary market for scalpers to exploit.
The US queue isn't great either - unless you sign up within the first hour or two, it could be a long wait anyways. 9 months in and the original 3080 queues have hardly moved meaningfully.

I sadly can´t PN on this account yet. I am a business owner an I´m desperately looking for a GPU <1000€ in austria. Already checked most vendors I know and the few that have GPUs in stock charge up to 200% msrp

All your tablets and cellphones, and IOT devices that run on ARM. Even apple has purchased a license and is making stuff with them. And yes i know they are making their own, but it is on the ARM architecture that they didn't come up with.

Both Ti cards are not so good only expensive. If you can get a 3070 or a 3080 for a good value go for it. I'm registered for a 3080Ti but if i can get a 3080 i will take it.

AMD prices seem to move down a lot faster.
Now you can get the "best" "binned" 6900XT for 1500 euros.
Nvidia prices went down a bit but the availability at that price is very limited.
I wonder if magically when the prices drop a bit more EVGA will start sending out mass emails to the list.

my BIL got a stock 3070, I installed it in my PC and ran assassins creed Valhalla on my 65 lg oled. it did [link=mailto:4k@60]4k@60[/link] with minor drops when spinning fast and large enemy movement on ultra. that's before OC and fine tuning settings. the 3070 is above the 2080 super and that card did pretty well in benchmarks.
