Intresting to see the Gigaybte 3080 OC has sold OVER 100 bei Mindfactory so EVGA whats going on?

From what I can see prices are high on those two sites though. Plus I'm french so it wouldn't work anyway some sites don't do shipping to other countries like that or with big fees.

Summary (some of the stuff is allegedly leaks and rumors but with strong inside confirmation) : 
1) FE might be sold in Europe through official resellers
2) Prices of cards might drop significantly
 
1) Basically what it's saying is that retailers in Europe will be allowed to sell the FE at MSRP (720€ in France) starting by LDLC Group (french network retailer). It seems the MSRP price of the FE will be enforced by Nvidia, because they have the power to do so : they can just remove the ability of non-compliant retailers to obtain and sell FE cards, resulting in sales loss not to mention broken trust too. 

2) What that also means, most likely, is price drop for other cards, for two reasons :
- First, they (especially LDLC Network) LOVE using the demand / supply excuse in order to increase price. Currently, mainstream cards (Asus, MSI, EVGA and Gigabyte) are sold from 1000€ to 1100€. Guess what, if the FE card maintains 720€ price, many people will rush for the FE instead of the custom cards so the demand on custom cards will considerably decrease.
- Moreover, the rush of the people will put so much demand and pressure on the FE cards without the ability of the retailers to increase price that they might finally be lowering the price of the customs in order to balance the supply of the different cards, as otherwise people would just wait for FE to be back in stock. And that time spent waiting while cards 300€ more expensive aren't sold is money lost by the retailers.
 
Now, they probably won't lower back to MSRP the custom cards as there still will be people ready to buy even at 1000€ but that should at least put enough money gap and time pressure on people and on retailers so that the prices quickly (within weeks instead of months) decreased. Especially with AMD right around the corner.
 
That's mostly theory (though strongly suspected to be right) for now but this is promising news if it's true.

If so, both resellers and buyers deserve a solid kick in the nuts, IMHO.

Today, Mindfactory sold many (!) Gigabyte 3080 Gaming OC cards for 979 Eur... didn't expect them to jump on the scalper train, too :(

In german forums, more and more people realize that EVGA ist poor regarding 3080 supply, different to taiwan based brands for example.

I received my card from computeruniverse the other day. 3080 FTW3 Ultra. Yes EU stores prices are higher than the listed msrp on the EVGA EU store, but they are also next to impossible to get from the EU evga store at least at the moment. Those that did manage to grab one had it sent to them straight from the taiwan factory. This is nothing new tho it's been happening since 1xxx series. If you want your card early be prepared to pay a premium once vendors realize the supply issue after day of launch they start raising prices. It's simple supply and demand. I don't know why anyone is surprised taking corona into consideration. Computeruniverse was actually selling the card 10 euro above the revised EVGA EU store msrp the day before the official launch until they caught on to the demand issue. At least EVGA has a step up program and if a 20GB version does indeed launch this December you can pretty much make back that "scalp" price by trading in for that version.

Well long time passed since launch, Nvidia still plays dirty game, Scalpers, Local EU retailers joining scalpers as well, EVGA in which i was most interested in is EU ignoring completely :) I guess AMD is gonna get my money this time, there is huge possibility that for 1440p its gonna be better anyway.
