So EVGA gave me a 750G5 to replace my 750G2. Is the G5 any good? Dont have much experience with G5
Nominally, no, but all you can do is try it out. It's a different platform, newer design and may not trigger protect as easy. The 3080 Ti FTW3 seems to be particularly abusive to PSU's.

I've got a 3080 Ti FTW3 with fan cooling, and a EVGA G5 850w PSU, and things are working fine for me. Although I have the card undervolted a little to keep the temperatures under control (power limit set to 85%). I do experience a little instability under the most intense gaming situations, but haven't had any full system shutdowns (at least not while I'm sitting at the system. I've come back after long pauses while leaving the system on to find it sitting at the login screen after a restart, not sure what's up with that).
My step-up queue just popped, so I'll be upgrading to a 3090 FTW3, plus a hybrid kit whenever those come back in stock. I'm fairly certain I'll need to upgrade the PSU some more, but we'll see what happens when it comes in. Given my current EVGA PSU fried my HDDs the first time I powered it up, I'm not sure I wanna stick with them.
Sounds like it is restarting sometimes if its leaving you at the login screen if you don't have it automatically log you off after a while of inactivity. Might be PSU related but could also be an overclock instability if you have an OC or memory.
It's definitely restarting on me. I assume PSU-related, since I actually had it underclocked to keep the temperatures under control (fan cooling just ain't cutting it for me). As soon as I went back to my 2080 to send the 3080 Ti in for the step-up program, stability went back to rock solid (same as it was before I put the 3080 Ti in), even with heavy OCing. The 3080 Ti would also randomly freeze/crash in certain games occasionally.

Hi Justin! I got your message, but since I'm not allowed to reply directly I had to contact you this way. Hope you or the mods don't mind. TX-1000 is working well. No sudden shutdowns, coil whine or puffs of magic smoke. My unit has a build date of R2105, so it's pretty recent. I'd like to think that your TX-850 will work just fine. Maybe the problem was with some other models, like the one I had? I had to RMA my Prime Snow, but because this model isn't manufactured anymore, I got TX-750 as a replacement. I'm sure that the replacement wouldn't have any problems powering my PC. Replacement came directly from Seasonic and has a build date of R2103.

since cpu may consumes quite high watt

Thanks for the update! Good to hear that the TX-1000 is still working well. I think I may try that instead, just to be safe with wattage if I end up going with Alder Lake.

No worries! The reason I went for TX-1000 was exactly the same as you mentioned. I wanted to be absolutely certain that the new PSU has enough Oomph! to feed new Intel CPUs and possibly RTX 4080 as well. ^^

I've run my EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra with both Corsair RM850x V2 and RM1000x and both worked perfectly fine.

Not a 3080/3090, but maybe works for reference. RX 6800XT Red Devil OC bios EVGA G+ 750 R9 5900X (stock) 32gb ram, 3 hdd, 2 sdd, three monitors, 1440p and 4k uncapped. Works fine, tested in RDR2, Cyberpunk, AC Valhalla, Kena Bridge of Spirits and a couple more.

Corsair HX-1000

Works fine so far when pushing it to 100% load in some benchmarks.
But I kind of hate the cables included with the Corsair HX-1000, its as if they push you to purchase their premium cables afterwards. The included PCIE cables are all bulky sleeved dual connectors, which is a total mess in my case as I connected 3 of them, so there are 3 loose daisy connectors hanging. I'm looking forward to replacing them with single connector ribbon versions but they are out of stock atm.
I had a Seasonic Prime PX 1300W before, but it was loud as hell, so I replaced it with the HX-1000. Wish I knew about the website cybenetics.com beforehand, which have a noise certification database for most PSU models.

Works for the default wattage firmware but I wouldn't attempt delving into trying the firmware with the boosted power limit.

Since Be Quiet actually has two Dark Power Pro models with 1000W, I'm going to assume that the first page is talking about the Dark Power Pro 12 1000W but I can confirm that my Dark Power Pro 11 1000W has zero issues with my new 3080 Ti FTW3.

I'm running a 3080 Ti FTW3, with an i9-9900K 2 4.9GHz, 2 regular SSDs, 2 M.2 drives, an Asus ROG Maximus XI Wi-Fi MB and Asus Ryugin 240 cooler.
All powered by a Seasonic X-850 SS-850KM3 Gold 850W Power Supply PSU.
No problems.

EVGA 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra - Thermaltake Toughpower Grand RGB 850w 80+ Gold Tried running the PSU on both AMD and Intel. Kept tripping OCP. MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF - stock settings 32 GB of G.Skill Trident Z @ 3000 MHz (4 x 8GB DIMMs) 1 ADATA M.2 drive, 1 regular Samsung SSD Gigabyte Aorus Ultra Z390 Intel i9-9900k - undervolted to 4.7 GHz @ 1.195v 32 GB of Crucial Ballistix @ 3600 MHz (4 x 8GB DIMMs) 1 ADATA M.2 drive, 1 regular Samsung SSD, 3 HDDs The 3080Ti will not be able to run on stock settings and even with an undervolt. Any sort of power spike will trigger OCP on the PSU, if not it'll cause strange issues with the display driver crashing and restarting. I ended up limiting the power to the GPU at 80% and undervolting it in order for it to work. I later switched out to the Corsair HX1200i PSU (complete overkill) and the 3080Ti has been working flawlessly at stock settings even with my 9900k now running at 5.0 GHz.

I'm running a AMD 5900x OCed with PBO2/CO and now a 3080ti FTW3 Ultra (moderately OCed so far) on an EVGA Supernova G2 850W PS that I first bought for a rebuild in 2016. I re-used it when I upgraded my machine recently from an Intel Core i7 6900 to the Ryzen.
Under full load on both CPU and GPU the CPU will draw around 200W, and the GPU I've seen hit around 415 W so far. I'll have to plug this into the Killawatt meter to see what the total draw is from the wall, but I haven't yet. The PSU has so far not had any problems with this. If it does I'll probably go to a 1000W, but no higher. Just don't see the need.

I've tried both a Seasonic TX-750 and PX-1000 with a 3080 ti ftw3 hybrid and both result in hard reboots, so I wouldn't consider either to be "working". Still trying to find something that will work. Have an rm1000x on the way now since it's on the list, will update if that works.
