Can you confirm you had no issues with the GPU as long with the PSU ? I just ordered the FTW3 and kinda scared to buy it now, considering of this issues with the card in general.
I have the following PSU, SSR-750FX ( GX 750 )....not sure now if that's the same as yours, just want to be on the safe side.

I ordered a corsair RM850x, until I get it installed i turned down the power target, it runs much cooler and doesn't really suffer much of a loss in fps.
How do you turn down the power target?
I just pulled the slider down in Precision X1 Undervolt FTW

I am running an AG750M It runs every game I have except MSFS 2020, When It goes into the cockpit it reboots, I am hoping this it the problem...
I have one 8pin on a chain because this PSU only has 3, 8 pin outs and that leaves me one For the CPU and 2 for the GPU...
I have stress tested the PC and RUN Port Royal at 11340 stock and 11992 with an overclock just messing around, Iracing doesn't really stress the GPU all the much at 7680x1440 @144 FPS cap. Runs in surround beautifully , When I put in the 3080 I did not uninstall drivers, I just installed the latest Driver From EVGA
Anyone think this might be my rebooting problem in MSFS2020, there seems to be a 20minute update every time I load this program lately...

Corsair HX850, 3080 black gaming.
I'm using two separate pcie cables for the connectors as well.
No undervolt. Slight OC bsod, but only after an hour or so of idling and possibly a cpu issue instead.

Just posting to add to the list. I have a 3080 FTW3 Ultra Gaming running on a Silverstone Strider 1200w and so far so good for about a month now.*Keeps fingers crossed* All three power plugs are coming from their own plug on the PSU if we are keeping track of that too.

Gamemax 850 Gold with 3080 Black Gaming, steady as a rock so far with separate runs to the connectors. Originally had a 5 year old CoolMaster 1000W Gold and it failed, probably due to age, lol so much for future proof!

Started running into power loss issues with my 850W GA after I installed my Ryzen 9 5900X alongside my 3080 FTW3 Ultra. Fresh install of Windows, drivers and BIOS updated, ETC.... The event logs are showing Kernal power loss errors. It was working fine with my old i7 6700k.
I opened a support ticket on the PSU and I'll wait to hear what EVGA has to say.

This is why I asked about the EVGA G5 series. That's what the RMA is saying I am getting in place of the EVGA GA 750 that can't power the RTX 3080....... This list is not making me feel good about the replacement they are sending me.

This is why I asked about the EVGA G5 series. That's what the RMA is saying I am getting in place of the EVGA GA 750 that can't power the RTX 3080....... This list is not making me feel good about the replacement they are sending me.
I'm in the exact same boat, they're sending me a G5 850W to replace my GA 850W. Hopefully it'll work, from what I can tell the G5 doesn't seem to have the same problem with the 3000 series, but who knows...

That must be frustrating. I could be wrong, but that sounds more like a GPU problem, not a PSU problem.

Wow, I know EVGA gets a ton of credit for their customer service and I had the opportunity to experience it first hand. Just called regarding my 850W GA and the guy on the phone instantly said that there were some reported issues and offered to swap it out with a different model. It was seriously painless and the guy I spoke to was great.

Hey I got you Pm but it wont let me reply to you because some weird EVGA rules. @tpandin
My first G5 had crashing problems so they sent me a replacement and it seems to be working as of now. My PC has not crashed in 4 days so whatever problem the G5 had with crashing must have been due to a faulty part of some sort on the original PSU(Possibly the capacitor).

The rep I spoke to did say that they'll ship what they have in stock... I guess as long as it works that's all that matters. I did question him on whether or not I'll receive new cables, or I just recycle the cables from the GA. He did confirm what ever they send will be compatible. Hey I have the same PSU. Could you tell me how your "VGA" cables from the PSU are connected to your GPU? Like do you have a power cable that is split into two 8 pin connectors and then you use one seperate cable or do you have THREE seperate "VGA" cables connected to your GPU?

Was your first G5 always having problems or only when you switched to the 30 series? My PSU was working fine with a 2070s with zero crashes, but since i switched I've been crashing. I'm thinking it's gpu releated and not PSU.

I bought the PSU and the GPU at the same time. I tested throwing my old EVGA 1070 SC GPU back in and it was still crashing. So I sent the PSU back for a replacement and so far it has not crashed. But the original PSU before the replacement worked fine for a week or so. Then it started crashing within 5min of boot up....even while sitting in BIOS. It started out crashing once a week and then got worse and worse until I had to replace it. I read a few reviews about the G5 on amazon and they had similar problems with the PSU breaking down after a few weeks.....so I'm nervous it may happen again.
Cyberpunk drops this week so I'm scared it will blow out on launch day 😂😂

UPDATE : EVGA 850 BQ does indeed have 3 PCI-E connectors. Two slots modular, and one non modular!

Hey my question is how do you have your 3080 plugged in? If that is the back of your PSU that I just linked, did you just use two Y cable and plugged both into them and just left the other one? Like the picture on the right?
