I went and bought a Kill A Water meter because I was curious to see how many watts my PC is currently drawing from the outlet while under different loads. 430 watts was the highest reading I saw, and that was during a custom Fire Strike run @ 1440p. The average range during this run was 260-270w. CPU: I saw consistent 212-214w throughout an entire Cinebench mult-core run. Sitting idle: 83w running low fan speed profiles. Numbers were all over the place when gaming. COD Warzone max was like 318w and that is at 1440p using the highest graphic settings. I currently run a 5.0 overclock on my 9700k with a 1.288 vcore, 1080ti black +82 using PX1 (250w TDP on these cards). I have multiple SSD's, and 7 fans including the two 140mm on the AIO. I recently replaced my 750w G3 psu with a 850w G3 specifically because I knew I would be buying a 3080 or 3090, and the minimum 750w needed for these cards was too close for my comfort. I do not have a 4k monitor yet. I haven't had a reason, or the GPU for it, but this will soon change. I am not an electrical expert by any means, not even close. I know how to run wire and install outlets and fixtures. That is it. So with that said, unless you have a beast of a system, a 750w psu will be just fine for running an overclocked system similar to my own, with any new RTX card. So please share your knowledge if I'm missing something here, preferably someone who really knows their stuff.

Of course 750w is enough. I think it all depends on the consumer/configuration. Are they planning to run SLI or do they want to run 50% for less load and audibles on their PSU? For those on exotic cooling etc., clearly would need a lot more because of the OC goals otherwise 750w is more than enough for most average gamer systems. I have a PC with a OC on the CPU along with a complex loop and many mechanical HDs. I average 500w-600w and that's at full load even with folding.

1000 T2 working great here with a LOT of added components besides the 9900K and 3080 FTW3 Ultra...I assume I use quite a bit of that 1000 watts. I've maxed out the 450W BIOS power limit and OC'ed it without issues but don't run it like that all the time. My UPS was showing 700-800W usage max with my CPU and GPU overclocked when I had my 2080 ti FE (and 2 fewer drives) so this probably cuts it pretty close. I swapped from OC to undervolt when my daughter fell asleep in my office to keep the noise down and am falling in love with it. Less noise is actually nice and the 200mm fans in my system can be really quiet combined with the 3080 being undervolted.

ASUS ROG STRIX White 850w PSU (its a rebranded seasonic) I’m running the FTW3 450w OC bios and a 10850k OC to 5.2 on all cores, all stable. I use the castle 360ex AIO and 3x case fans to cool is down. Hope this helps.

Only had this 3090 FTW3 ultra for a few days and it seems to be working OK (touch wood) with Corsair HX850i. Am using 3 separate 8 pin cables.

Card: EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra (24G-P5-3987-KR) PSU: Super Flower Leadex Platinum SE 1000W (2020 build date) Connections: 3 separate 6+2 pin lines run from PSU to the card, no daisy chaining or splitting, no extension cables. Original factory cables used. No PCIE riser used on the card. Install Date: 11/11/2020 Usage so far is mostly a metric ton of VR on the Valve Index at 120hz and some benchmarking for good measure (raster and raytracing), with a dash of 120hz 4K pancake gaming. Loading it up with some machine learning stuff later is on the TODO list. Running beautifully so far on the most recent OC bios (not the XOC beta bios), temperature/noise and other metrics are all as expected.

Would love to know if this has been working with no issues. I have only seen one other post with the 850W p2. It's the one I was planning on buying to pair with a 3080 FTW Ultra and a 5900X. But have not seen it mentioned much. Not sure if to go up to a 1000W gold.
