They're shipping from Alaska. He might need to defrost them before use.

Wow, that was quick...

I've had my 1300 G2 for a bit over 2 years now.  Good solid PSU.  Plenty of extra power and no complaints here...

I also have a 1300 G2 and it's been great. It's running a X99 FTW, 5930K, 2 DDC style pumps, 13 140mm fans and 3 970FTW's OC'ed to 1500MHz with no problems.

Wish I could have ordered the PSU sooner. Now I can't build this weekend, because I couldn't order it. Someone had somehow got my credit card number, and ordered something from Sprint for $10. The bank called us, and we had to cancel the Visa. It took 2 days to get the new card in the mail.  :/

That suck's. At least it was caught early, and it was only something small. Although I'm sure that was a test purchase to see if the stuff they had was good and the big purchase would have happened soon after.

Very true, good thing you caught it early. I am getting ready to do a build close to what you are doing now but I think I will wait on the dark m.b. but hope you post some pics to show what it looks like. What tower are you using?

The tower is in my sig. "Cooler Master" (CM). I will take pics, and do a Mods Rig, after the PSU arrives. Soon as I have enough time to do it next week.

Yes, all is good once again. Chase Bank is pretty good with this stuff. They are always on top of it. Yes, it's happened before, but never had a loss.      =)

Yep. I'm busy on Sunday, so I need to get it done Saturday. I always like doing a complete clean install of Windows too. I'm on the free Windows 10 with this setup. I think I will stay on Win 7 until I buy the full pro version of Win 10, probably sometime in January. Have to install all my programs too. I'm glad I'm on Vacation from 12-24-15 to 1-4-16. Gives me time to get other things done.

Took me a few days to get everything put together and OS and programs loaded.  Although I had two OS's to load along with all programs/software for each.  W10 Retail and W7 HP.  I'm still finding programs I didn't intall a week later...

But it's all worth it.  No doubt you'll love the nice performance improvements...

I would also like to say this more ram never hurts, you know those games that launch that crash due to memory leak issues? Even if you are not video editing, having 32gb+ of ram will let you muscle past it for a better gaming experience before the game gets fixed.

I just got this board to replace an Asus X99 Deluxe (which fried my 5960X on the first XMP profile after just over a year!) and couldn't be happier.  This board is far superior to the Asus Deluxe in every way.  It overclocks way nicer, my watercooler is already noticeably more active, it displays the temp on the motherboard LEDs while its running (so awesome), the visual bios is super easy to use and update, and it looks good while it is kicking ass.  I had nothing but issues with that Asus board, from USB issues which would freeze the boot process if certain controllers were plugged in, to strange boot freezes and 'bd' errors on startup.  My main gaming rig was down for just over a month while I waited on parts but now it is running better than ever just in time for some time off of work :).  I had always bought EVGA boards in the past and the Asus X99 Deluxe was my first board from a different manufacturer.  I won't be doing that again.  EVGA hasn't let me down yet, and I will stick with them from now on.  Their power supplies and graphics cards are awesome too!

Get this board, you won't regret it.  Merry Christmas!

The 1st and 4th PCI-e slots both say the same thing. x16x8 is on both slots. Can I use either one for my GTX 980? Does it have to be the 1st one for a single card? Towards the bottom of the 4th slot there's a plastic cover with a big E on it. If I put a video card there, that plastic cover I believe would interfere with the card when trying to put it in the slot.

EDIT: Since I'm not getting an answer, which is holding up progress,       I'll just go with PCI slot #1 just to be safe.

I think that 4th slot is to SLI 2 cards (Slots 1 & 4). I think slot 1 needs to be populated. I'll just play it safe, and use slot 1.

Always choose slot #1 when you only have a single gpu.

I would be more willing to do it, if you were 100% sure with that answer.      :P

Sorry if I upset the apple cart, but ...
There is more to the DDR4 RAM Story.
While lower "Timing Settings" are more desirable.
DDR4 is more efficient / powerful for reasons other than latency specification.
Density of the memory modules is one reason cited for the performance difference.
DDR3 settings are 7,8,9 with DDR4 settings at 14,15,16 almost twice the latency.
Yet DDR4 runs at 2100 MHz base / stock speeds with DDR3 at 1066 MHz.
Also a much lower voltage of 1.20V.
So I am suggesting a higher speed kit that can be run at lower speeds and adjusted timings.
For example: Desktop Memory Model F4-2800C15Q2-64GRK
$429 listed on 12/24 on a popular resellers site.
A 64 Gig kit with the best reason for having more RAM being not having to upgrade if the need arises.
X99 MBs support up to 128 Gig kits for a very substantial price.
With Dx 12 rolling out, and Gaming Engines being developed to take advantage of more powerful hardware and OS parameters.
Who knows how much RAM would be the Right number?
I have two DDR3 Dominator kits which have performed flawlessly for me.
I would not criticize any one for choosing a kit as well respected as Dominator.
I will say that 32 GB max support on the X58 platform seems very limited to me.
