So I thought I'd better post my current rig while I still can, because tomorrow I have to drain the loop and tear it down and send the motherboard in for RMA - you might notice there's only 1 stick of ram in there, that's because the DIMM slot #2 has packed a sad (hence the RMA). Also the first character of the post code display is not working (common issue lately).

Specs:
  • i9-11900K CPU with Optimus V2 block - you'll see from the pics it can run on 5.3GHz on all cores stable (although hot), but for regular use I run it at either 5.0GHz all cores, or just at spec clocks.
  • EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra with an EK water block - stable at 2.2GHz, but most of the time I run it around 2.0-2.1GHz clock (which is only +100 on the GPU).
  • In the photos there is just one stick of Corsair Dominator Platinum 4000GHz which I just put in over the last couple of days while I was troubleshooting, however I have been running on G.Skill Trident Z Royal Elite 4800MHz sticks (2x16GB) all the time previously, until the DIMM slot crapped out.
  • EVGA Supernova 1000 T2 psu.
  • Corsair 7000X RGB case - the window door is tinted, so first shot is door closed, 2nd shot door open.
  • Cooling loop has 2 x 360mm radiators - one at the top, and one facing out the side of the case (you can see it behind the reservoir).
  • The front intake is 3 x 120mm fans that came with the case.

So here's the pix:

Really excellent system you have and I read about your problem with the memory slot crapping out and the LED lights burning out on the motherboard.

TY much, I try. Kind of wish I could had waited a bit longer in one sense, but then I would not have the card I have now. Those 12th gen intels are pretty sweet vs my 10th gen i9 10900KF.

That is going to be amazing, that will be one sweet PC.
I just cannot justify upgrading twice in the same year. So have to resist, not going down the path of chasing every new shiny again. When you finally add that stuff up you spent over the decades on hardware your jaw drops. Biggest mistake I ever made.

U must believe anything if U think that coolers only last 8 -24 months oh you saw a video on TV did yea well golly if Steve said to eat a tide pod over half of his viewers would be sick 2 i think 🤤🤤

lol true - my wife's CLC120 has been running flawlessly for over 3 years... and more significantly, the CLC AiO coolers have a 5 year warranty, so EVGA expects them to last *at least* 5 years.

My glorious Corsair H50 has made rounds in my PC for several years many eons ago, my younger brother's PC and now my brother-in-law's PC.  I think it's been going strong for about 12+ years now?

I bought my 3090 ftw3 in Nov 2020.  I can't believe it's been over year with this setup.   It kind of feels like it's brand new since there are those still waiting on a 30 series card.   I'm still waiting for a PS5 at msrp... but not paying scalper prices.  All my previous builds where custom watercooled for over a decade.    Decided to just use AIO coolers for this one.   Mainly using it for my Photography editing and content creation... so I'm not into the benchmark scene like used to.   I game and stream once in a while... but mostly editing and shopping on Amazon... LOL.   Not as cool as the custom loop rigs in this thread... but here is my over 1 year old rig and office setup:

RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra
This bad boy replaced an EVGA GTX 1080Ti FE.
Installed last week... working with EVGA, it took about 7 months to land.

My mind is blown!
Currently using stock (normal) bios...
All I have done is bump the power and temp targets to (stock) max in PX1.
EVGA 850 watt power is feeding it well.
1440p / 144hz with tons of headroom. Runs at 1950MHz most of the time.
Beyond the astonishing power of the GPU itself,
the card seems to have uncorked the whole system, allowing it to finally reach it's full potential.
The box just rips now and is so much fun to use. BONUS! It is also keeping my Den nice and warm this winter!
(has otherwise run for many hours without a single glitch, hang or crash)
Here are a couple of shots with the glass off the case.
Cheers!

Lian li mini, 5900x, 3090 kingpin hybrid, waiting the optimus waterblock to go full custom cooling.

Posting pics/links not working for me. Maybe I’m too new.

Basically, it's a 1HP HE water chiller form Penguin chillers into a mini fridge for my PC. Same cooling concept as an AC. I made some mistakes along the way but it works decent for now. Inside it has a 15 gallon reservoir. It has a few problems in the future I'd like to fix but after the project I just want to enjoy it for now. I am going to build something that deadens the sound a little bit when it stops raining here.
