As difficult as the newegg experience has been, and although I didn't get a card from the drop, the length of the window, the captcha, etc. ... I did feel like newegg was trying to combat the bots.

I'll try on the next restock but after my last experience with the EVGA site I'll just be waiting for my Strix pre order after that. It looks like the better card anyways.
It's unfortunate that this is the conclusion a lot of people are coming to...can't blame them tho

Waiting all day refreshing for stock only to have the site crash right after I entered my PayPal info and hit submit. Then the item being removed from my cart and sold out by the time the site came up. Very frustrating.

what's been the issue? On the first major release of units, the EVGA site crashed down almost immediately when the release occurred. The perception was that only bots got cards, although I have heard of a few success stories. Everybody is hoping the next release will have resolved many of the issues.

Hazedconfused, I feel the same way. I've been lucky enough to glimpse it a few times, but by then the system wouldn't let me check out. I wish this prrocess was a bit more like ordering tickets. Limited number per person, reserved for two minutes while in the cart, etc.

Each drop has been bad, all very similar issues, but the one that really kind of soured my mood was the 3090 Launch. There was stock set aside for Elite Members (which I think is good). I had really prepared myself for the launch, really figuring out how the cart worked and how to navigate to the pages I needed to be to try to checkout in under 10 seconds. Within a couple of seconds of the launch I had a 3090 in the cart and was on the final checkout page where you hit Confirm Order. For the next 100 minutes I tried to get my order to actually confirm, never got it through. Through that entire time EVGA was saying there was stock available for Elite Members still. It just was insanely frustrating to waste 100 minutes trying to get an order through, constantly going back to the payment screen to resumbit payment information, constantly timing out on various pages and processes. Its one thing to do it for 10 or 20 minutes, but 100 minutes really kind of messes with you, especially since in the end you get the item removed from your cart with an Out of Stock error, so there is no reward, no brightside. There just seems to be no rhyme or reason to getting a card, it doesn't matter how much preparation and effort you put into it, it just seems completely out of your control. Not a fun experience. I understand it is a difficult issue for EVGA to deal with given the demand, not everyone is going to get cards, but they really need to find a way to make it less frustrating when you don't get one. It wasn't the not getting the card in and of itself, it was just 100 minutes of absolute frustration. I don't expect they will have a solution for this during this launch, but hopefully they can make improvements to their site to try to address the issues in the next two years before the next series of cards come out.

Unfortunately, I am right there with you. Same thing happened to me. Hopefully EVGA does more Elite Member stuff so we can get a 3080 or 3090.

Had the same thing happen with bestbuy... would add it to the cart, but would get an error on the shipping and the system would ask you to select a store for pick-up. The kicker is it states “on-line only”.

Customers can't compete with bots......Please fix this issue. DO PREORDERS and let customers stand in line. This model is broken in favor of bots and reseller's not customers.
This seems to be a stipulation from NVIDIA.

It would flag it as on-line only, after you tried to pick a store for shipping.You would pick a store, and it would say not available in your area. It was quite comical.

Ate least you got to add it to your cart lol. I've seen on 3 separate occasions I would refresh, hit the add to cart button, and then it just tells me unable to add to cart.

the idiots buying from ebay dont realize they can build a cheap comp from cyberpowerpc for 2500bucks that includes a 3090ftw3? Yet its selling for 3.5-4k on average on ebay. maybe they are just impatient and need it now
