14900K preorder on Newegg, should be here before end of the week. Also waiting to see if intel will drop a 14900KS version, would put the 14900K in the Z690 Dark build after KS upgrade for 790. For now I'm hoping we can get a bios update for the Z790 Dark for this new chip. If both boards can get updates, even better!

Any idea if a UEFI update is still coming? RPL-R is releasing tommorow.

Looks like there won't be a new BIOS for "14gen"
EVGA is dead

But 14gen should work without bios update
or with little modification by injecting microcode

Got my 14900kf sitting here next to my z690 and no other cpu. Gonna give It a few days, see what happens. Got 14 days no quarrel returns so If no progress I'll just return It.

Rulik006 feels it might work without the update. Are you daring enough to try?

Not gonna lie, I'd be tempted If only my DDR5 were here, everything else Is a go. Waterblock, CPU, Motherboard. Just waiting on the RAM. Due tomorrow. My Bios Is 13th Gen ready, already flashed to that. I'll see If I'm feeling brave tomorrow If no updates.

Don’t know why you’d expect a file posted in the middle of the night by a now by small company that is on the west coast of the US. The techs that post in the forum are sleeping. Company rep stated here on the forums publicly they were working on bios updates. Also said they would have more to say WHEN THEY WERE READY with it. And everyone here takes their silence since to mean they changed their minds? As a reminder, 13th Gen update for z690 came out on launch day. Why is anyone shocked or angry we don’t have news yet?

Because it takes less than a minute for a rep to swing by and type:
Guys, relax. It IS being worked on, and it WILL be posted. We promise we won’t forget about you.

A little more confirmation is never a bad thing especially considering how anxious everyone is over the state of the company.

Looking at performance test so far it seems the gains with 14th gen are so negligible its not worth upgrading if you already have 12th gen or 13th gen.

That is not excuse no to release new BIOS.. you are just downplaying the importance of new BIOS release to support 14th gen.

I bought the i7-14700K and the z690 kingpin is the only mobo I have, I legit though the bios update would have been ready and was stupid enough to put it in and waste $20 of thermal paste, all I can think of now is returning it for the 13700k, but I am mentally burned out to drive an hour round trip to make the exchange now, I am just going to hope that we get an update, I am literally without a working computer right now. Please let us know, I want a working computer, but if I have to wait a Month, I may as well skip 14th gen all together.

Same but 14900kf. Thanks for your sacrifice and confirming it's not working. Saves me opening a sealed product and having them take a cut for opened box losses.

I'm giving It until friday, then if nothing's been updated I'm probably just gonna return the board and cpu and go AM5. Really wanted to stick to EVGA because the audio quality is the best I've heard.

I personally think there will be an update, but when? Can't imagine a company with such awesome values and customer support over the years tarnishing it all and leaving on a bad note because of one last bios update. Do think It'll come, I just personally can't wait weeks.

If any of the 14th gen CPU's won't work it'd be the 14700K as that's the only one w/any real difference from 13th gen counterpart. The rest of them besides the 14700K might work (partially?) w/out a new BIOS.

I returned the i7-14700K to micro center, I kept getting error code d6 and 5 beeps, worried me that something else went defective, I picked up a 13700k and everything is stable again, I have the Z690 Dark Kingpin. I also have bios version v2.13.

Thanks for testing and letting the rest of us know.

I would assume it's likely that if EVGA is no longer in the motherboard business they may not have the ties with intel they have had before with getting tools, support information, and engineering samples to test with. It's possible they are still working on the update but have had to wait to ensure they have been able to test with new hardware.

Can you please expose tXSDLL? The 2048 value that it defaults to is only compatible with speeds up to 6800 MT/s.

As last request, I vouch.. The board is thinking im using low memory frequency and giving me too low tXSDLL i want to control it.
same as:
tcsh, tmod, tzqcs, tzqcal, trefsbrd

i cant expose with bios mod, need to be "inserted" i guess

And here we are post launch day with no bios and no replies from EVGA. I guess it's surprising the forums are still here. EVGA, you had a great run. Sad to see you go. My greatest sympathies to those that enjoyed EVGA throughout the years and decades. I suppose it's time to move on.

Not a good way to end it by leaving customers in the DARK. At least tell us no BIOS update is on the way or that you are still working on it. Either way some info would be appreciated.

The EVGA forums remind me of lost loved ones’ social media profiles. They’re gone but their profile remains. I wish I could say I was shocked when I recently discovered that pretty much all remaining EVGA products are now sold & shipped through third parties, but I guess I’m more sad than anything. This company definitely had a great run, and I agree about moving on. I’m just not sure where to move on to, but I suppose that’s partly why I got back into console gaming.

Yes, I can confirm that we are working on it and as soon as available we will notify everyone on the forums as well.  Thank you for your patience.

Thank you for letting us know
I appreciate everyone at EVGA to continue to support this MB even though its close to 2-3 years old
Again thank you
