Im in need of some help here I really dont know what to do. I recently just installed my EKWB waterblock on my RTX FTW 3 3090 and now my system isnt booting. It was running for months before the water block install.
 
Post error code 62 with Gigabyte x570 Aorus Master Mobo and an AMD 5950x with the RTX 3090 plugged in.
I have narrowed it down to ti being something wrong with the graphics card. I popped my old 1080ti in and Im not having any issues.
The board is definitely getting power and there are no circuits that got fried or liquid that touched the board.
Is a ground being missed ? Does the board need fans plugged into work ? LED on the back is lighting up.
System detects when I removed a PSU cable showing the red lights so I really dont think the board is damaged.
 
Can EVGA look into this for me or does anyone here have any insight? I dont believe I did anything to cause this. Im not new to watercooling .. but I will pay if I have to to repair it if its out of waranty over this. Im desperate and need help :( 

I will give it a try. Will they RMA this product if neither works? Do they repair boards if there is damage to them they deemed customer caused? Ill try to take pictures of my tear down and reassembly. This build cost me over 7 grand and the GPU was a biggest  investment outside of my storage and I hope I just didnt make a 2000 dollar mistake
 

These things are impossible to get :( I really hope its something stupid I missed. The board looks perfect though. The freaking thermal putty they used around the VRM's is insane to get rid of though :( is that stuff conductive ?

No it's not conductive at all. Just make sure you pay attention to detail. I assume you downloaded the block install instructions from ekwb site as I don't think they include them in the package anymore.

i also did exactly as described in those videos to remove that remaining thermal putty. What i find interesting is EVGA didnt use a single washer .. any chance that he back of the GPU die needs those grounds around the mounting points ? They use metal washers on the pressure plate .. and that SOB is going to be impossible to put back on.
 

I guess its worth a try to be honest. Im going to go back stock and let you guys know tomorrow morning what happens. To be quite honest this was my first EKWB purchase for their water blocks and Im not impressed. You can see the machine marks on every inch of the metal and I paid nearly 320 bucks for the product after shipping. Oh yea and also the acrylic covers the RGB PIN header on the graphics card itself so your forced to use your mobo for lightning and the RGB cable is terribly placed and damn near too short for any case and looks terrible. Comes with no instructions in the box but they can be found online. If its the block shorting something out Im just going to file a dispute with paypal wave good bye. Not paying international shipping for a return

mine is working fine on EK block 3090FTW3 Ultra 
 

EK is some of the best you can get man 😎😎

Same thing when I went back stock .. getting fluctuations of error code 62 and error code 92. Something to do with the PCI Express Bus. Calling to setup an RMA tomorrow.

Mine is working fine on EK quantum Block, did you put All the thermalpads on 😎

I even tried without the backplate, no luck.
I de-installed the WB, cleaned everything and re-installed it, no luck.
I don't know what to do now ...

Yes I cleaned everything right.
I re-installed the retail air cooler on one of the cards and the error is still there.
It's like the card is "locked" and triggers an error as soon as the PC starts. The motherboard doesn't boot and shows error B2 (or 62 it's hard tot tell) on a Maximus Apex IX. The white VGA LED is also on.
On my other PC (Asus ROG Strix X570), the error code is 97 and there's also the white VGA LED on...

I had a similar problem with a 2080Ti and EK Waterbock. Turned out it was the Nickel backplate causing it to not post. I figured it out when I took off the back plate an tried it and it posted. I put it back on and I didn't post again.  After racking my brain for a while over it. I tried loosening the screws on the backplate and poof it posted. You have to be careful of how tight you screw in the back plate on the EK blocks and be very mindful of the placement of thermal pads on it. Hopefully you get it fixed....

I have EK backplate om my 3090FTW3 Ultra and All is good but i put 2 extra thermalpads on 😎😎
