For some reason my new RTX 3080 ti ftw ultra doesnt display the bios screen but will boot up and show the windows screen.
I can get the screen to come up with an HDMI cable though. I have tried two different DP cables and both ports on my monitor.
I have updated precision software 1.2.2 and firmware update to the card.
I have done a clean install of the latest Nvidia driver.
I have update my BIOS to the latest which is ironically 6/24 from Asus. I have the Asus z490-E Strix Gaming board
I have read others having issues with other brands.
I called evga but they said to contact the board manufacturer.
I just came from the EVGA RTX 3080 FTW Ultra and had no problem whatsoever.
Anyone else run into this issue?

Figured out the solution. I had to re-enable CSM and made sure setting were set to an auto uefi/legacy. I remember first getting this board I couldn't boot to windows on my NVME without it disabled. Not sure if the latest bios fixed this but regardless now I can use DP and see the post/BIOS screen.

same issue for my 3080ti ftw3 ultra as well with msi b550 gaming carbon I even used DDU to uninstall everything prior swapping from my evga 980 to evga 3080ti. it really didn't like displayport cuz nothing display till I hook up another monitor via hdmi. with csm disable and UEFI enabled, it will only display on monitor connected via hdmi. had to enable csm and force it to do uefi in order to get post info on my main monitor connected via displayport.

This reminds me of when nvidia released a fix years ago for old 7 and 8 series card with a similar issue. This to me appears to be a vbios fix in the 3080ti cards. Not sure if LTR being added is connected in anyway but with so many others having this issue I think we will have to wait for a fix from evga through precision or nvidia releasing something? Any 3070ti owners with a similar issue?

Lol I figured as much and this is the reason I haven't contacted Asus because I expect this. The latest bios for my board is 6/24/2021. This is clearly a gpu issue. Hopefully a vbios fixes this. No one wants to be to blame but us consumers need a fix. Haven't had to turn back on CSM with my 2080ti or 3080. Disabled just worked until the 3080ti came out.

I'm having the same issue. But it is much more hit or miss for me. Sometimes I can see the BIOS splash screen, sometimes not. Usually the monitor will come on after Windows gets to the login screen but occasionally the monitor stays off even once windows has started. I bought a new DP cable, updated my BIOS, updated my nvidia driver, etc. Seemed like it was fixed for a little while but then it happened again.

Intersting how I'm able to still get rebar with CSM. Can you have it enabled and to auto uefi/legacy? This is what had worked for me. With CSM enabled regardless of your rebar does it fix your issue of the post screen showing with DP?

This isn't an all motherboard must be the video card issue. I am also running a 3080 Ti FTW 3 now on an Asus Crosshair 8 Dark Hero motherboard using DP to my three monitors and not having any issues at all. The monitors kick on as soon as it detects the video and shows the boot up go to BIOS screen. CSM is off and resizable BAR is enabled. All BIOS and drivers are current.

Same issue here... 5800x Strix B550-F and EVGA 3080 Ti. Since I can't enable Resizeable Bar when CSM wad enabled so I switched to HDMI because I believe the Resizeable Bar is more important than that 21 FPS lol

Ugh, I hope I don't run into this when I finally get my 3070 ti. I have an Asus TUF x570 pro mobo and my EVGA GTX 980 Classified has the same problem you describe. If there's any DP connection at boot, the card fails to come up, I get a beep code indicating the mobo didn't detect a video output (which I had falsely assumed was a failed overclock), it automatically restarts and then I see nothing until the windows logo. Made it very tricky to get into the bios, even after adding a 5 second delay. Just HDMI boots fine, but then I'm stuck with a choice between 120hz and no HDR or HDR @60hz (not that a 980 can push HDR on DP). And I don't want to enable CSM. That screws something up, I just can't remember what. Sigh. EDIT: If y'all didn't know, this is a known issue on at least the 980's.

I'm guessing you have a wide or ultrawide monitor? I am having this exact same issue on my EVGA GTX 980 with my Samsung Odyssey G9 monitor (UWQHD). I've heard about the HDMI workaround, and I also found in my case setting the monitor to picture-by-picture mode (giving a normal aspect ratio screen) also works around the issue and lets me see the BIOS/boot screen. I tried updating the DisplayPort FW on my card (was far out of date) using the nVidia DP FW tool, but that had no effect on my system.

Well, this is the first I've heard about a DP firmware update tool, I should try it. My monitor is an Asus somethingorother with standard UHQ/2k aspect ratio.

I have this exact same problem with Samsung Odyssey G7 on display port except sometimes I can't even get into Windows. Here is what I experience: No Bios screen ever on DP main display If the monitor is set to low input lag 240HZ, it will black screen indefinitely even after boot. If it is 144HZ, it will sometimes display Bios, but I can get into windows It is maddening and inconsistent as it doesn't always happen PLEASE HELP / FIX , I also think this is a VBIOS issue I DID NOT have this problem ever with my 3080 XC3 Ultra

Issue:
CSM on -> DP 1.4 with all HDR feature ok, but no re-bar
CSM off -> DP 1.4 no post and BSOD
CSM off -> DP 1.2 all working fine but NO HDR at all, re-bar work
Please have a new VBIOS fix this problem. Thank you EVGA!!!!

switch to another dp on the card, if you are using dual monitor, it will happen, just switch to another display port.

The same problem for me using MSI X570 Ace motherboard and a brand new 3080 Ti Strix OC. Screen turns on at Windows login. If I need to do something in BIOS I need to switch to a HDMI cable. Irritating…
Before the Strix I had a 3090 Tuf OC and that card did not experience this problem. LHR related?

after reading akak4747's post decided to do some test today, so I grab my old gsync monitor XB270H from other pc, which has display port 1.2 started with 2 monitor, Alienware aw2721d (dp 1.4), ASUS VE247 (hdmi) bios display on VE247 hook up all 3 monitor, Alienware aw2721d (dp 1.4), Acer XB270H (dp 1.2), ASUS VE247 (hdmi) the bios display on Acer XB270H it does seem to have issue w/ dp 1.4 device

I upgraded my Monitor to the ASUS ROG Swift 360 Hz monitor PG259QNR, and lo and behold - cannot see my BIOS screen using any of the 3 DP's.
Switch back to old monitor - no problem - could see the BIOS.
Then used my ASUS 360Hz monitor with HDMI ports and could get the BIOS screen. I switched the 360Hz monitor down as low as 60Hz and 144Hz and still couldn't see BIOS screen using DP.
Swapping out my MOBO tomorrow to a ROG STRIX X570-E Gaming from an MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX ATX, needed an upgrade anyway with the powerhouse Ryzen 5800x so who knows if that will make any difference?

quick google and check the spec on amazon, VG248 QG, also dp 1.2 whereas PG259QNR, dp 1.4. seems to confirm the issue people been seeing here. something is weird with UEFI and dp 1.4 with the new 3080ti card. I suggest people contact both the motherboard vendor (MSI, in my case) and EVGA, hopefully they can sort things out.

I bet they will just keep pushing to each other. Evga will tell u to go consult with MB vendor, and MSI/ASUS will tell u to go consult with EVGA. Lol, Limbo now.

I wish I could say what it is I've done, but this issue has gone away for me.
I updated my MB BIOS and got the latest graphics drivers and all that but I think most people here have tried all that.
I'm NOT using compatibility mode.
I AM using Re-Bar.
I'm NOT using fast boot.
I was trying several different things and I've lost track but maybe something here will help me narrow it down. Would love to help others get this fixed on their systems.

This is an issue with UEFI detection, if you believe this issue is with the video card with can provide a replacement via the warranty but this more than likely wont resolve the issue as this has already been proven to be an issue with uefi detection in motherboards, most manufactures have already released updates for.

The most recent update from Zotac: (It's in Chinese)  According the the most VBIOS release for Zotac 3080Ti, they acknowledged there are issue with 3080Ti massively impact DP 1.4. So they have released an update of their VBISO for Zotec 3080Ti to fix that iss2ue. @EVGA, can you guys take a look for the same issue? We are so demanding for this new VBIOS, and stop pushing us to the MB vendor. It has already been well known as the 3080Ti bug that was originally caused by nVidia. A new VBIOS will fix it!!!!!!! (as long as EVGA willing to release it)
