I’m thinking this is a monitor issue. I have 3080 Ti FTW3 and have no issues with seeing the startup splash screen using display port. Doesn’t matter if it’s a cold boot or a restart. Why I think it’s a monitor issue is because my wife’s setup has an older BenQ monitor from 2013, and that has a hard time showing the startup splash screen using display port. The lack of splash screen has been present with the 1080, 2080, and 2080 Ti that have all been in her system, all former GPUs that were in my rig. When in my rig and using a newer Asus monitor, I always saw the splash screen.

Yes, it is a problem with DisplayPort 1.4. Most people run DisplayPort 1.2 which does not have this problem. I have an LG38GN950 that requires DisplayPort 1.4 to get a high refresh rate (because it is high resolution). I can tell the monitor to only use DP 1.2 and the problem goes away, but then it is capped at 75Hz.

the UEFI detection seems to be completely opposite to how Windows detect the monitor

but in windows,  a > b > c,  meaning a will be default as primary over b and b will be over c.
 
confused me why my newly added monitor with displayport is monitor 1 when i swap my setup from 1 Dp + 1Hdmi to 2 monitor with dp.

The windows monitor api controls this, the bios has no say over how windows enumerates and numbers them.

Yeah, it is a VBIOS problem with certain monitors (with DP 1.4). It is not the monitor's fault, the problem is in the VBIOS. I've tested other nvidia GPUs, GTX 1080, RTX 2070, RTX 3070ti, and only the RTX 3080ti seems to have a problem with DP 1.4.
 
Many people are running DP 1.2 don't see the problem, so they are assuming it is a problem with the monitors hardware/firmware. However, I have access to multiple monitors (DP 1.2 and DP 1.4) and multiple GPUs and have been able to isolate the problem to RTX 3080ti + DP1.4. Now I only have one DP 1.4 monitor, but many other people using other DP 1.4 monitors (from different vendors) have reported problems with the 3080ti (from multiple AIBs and FE).

The problem happens to me with dp 1.1 and 1.2, my monitor does not have DP 1.4. It must be a general problem with DP and monitor hz. haner if they get the vbios out asap. Where can you check if they have taken it?

I still think that nothing is known ... I am waiting for the bios for the rtx 3080 ti xc3. I hope they get it out soon.

OC mode BIOS updates are available for the cards that have a secondary BIOS.

Thanks for the reply.  I ran the Normal Mode exe and updated the bios.  There seemed to be a problem when doing so and now there's a problem with the OC Mode update.  The screen has been "dead" for over 5 minutes and has not re-recognized.
 
EDIT: Did a hard shutdown as nothing was responding.  This was a very stupid move but what else was I gonna do, leave the machine running for weeks to go through tech support?  Anyways the OC Mode bios updated:  previous VBIOS was 94.02.71.00.B0, current OC Mode VBIOS is now 94.02.71.80.75  So both Normal Mode and OC Mode VBIOS' have been updated and I can now see the BIOS on boot-up.

I’m confused? Do I need to turn the OC switch on and the. Open precision x1 and another update will pop up for that or the one I just did with the normal bios applies to both?

I would recommend shutting off your PC, switching from Normal Mode to OC Mode, boot up, then re-running Precision X1 and it will see the outdated OC Mode VBIOS.  Then it should notify you.  I imagine.

I'm having this same issue with BIOS post screen not showing & my pc boots straight to my desktop on the non TI version ---> RTX 3080 FTW Ultra.
Is there a fix for this, too?

Updated normal vbios with no problem, able to boot correctly with bios and no more white vga light on the motherboard. 

Same problem here with ASUS strix 3080ti, seems like the problem for evga has been fixed, does anyone know when can we have something for asus?
