Hi everyone

Long time ago I started work with my Cooler Master Cosmos S

The problem, however, is that it really cramped inside and hard to get to anything.
Especially that I changed to x299 and bought an EVGA X299 DARK motherboard which is big and tall.

I really like my COSMOS and I've spent a lot of time with it, but is time to change it for something bigger.

I liked Raijintek Eris Evo a lot, but I did not like a few solutions that were used in it.

Hoever design of this case is definitely that what I like.

I noticed that the ERIS EVO is a simple structure, so nothing prevents me from making my version, especially since I have access to a lot of machines.

So I decided... LETS DO THIS!

And that how started Project "BEHEMOT"

Speciffication of my platform which I am going to use in this project:

- EVGA X299 DARK
- i9 9940X (delid + custom IHS)
- 4x8GB DDR4 Patriot Viper Steel 4000 CL19
- Corsair MP300 480 + 960 GB
- GeForce 1080Ti AMP Extreme (for now, rtx 3080/3090 soon)
- Corsair HX1200i
- Arctic P12/P14 PWM PST

In new case I am going to use 2x 560 xt45 radiator and... MORA 420... INSIDE!

Patriot Vipers doesn't has temp sensor so i decided to do my own and it work perfectly

My awesome helper!

Overclocked my i9 9940x

14x 4.9 GHz
Mesh 31
Vcore 1.31V
Mesh Voltage: 1.165V

Here is the screen with 5.0 Ghz and Mesh 31

This is one of the highest score in HW BOT for 14 cores with H2O cooling!

Something is wrong with my r20 because it still shows the same result in the table. I need to reinstal it

Patriot Viper Steel showed awesome performance! Full stable set! WOW! Max temp 40,5C.

Final voltage is 1.485V

I wait for first components and after that I will designed next of them.

I decided that it will be better to order more items singly than all at once because probably half or 3/4 would need to be changed and ordered again If I will take all at once.

Some new parts will come soon

I changed connection between CPU and GPU and remove Pararell loop. Now CPU temps are 15C lower!

    Some Fans :)

    I have 5x P14 so I need 20 more :)

In finall case I will install inside:

25x Arctic P14 PWM PST for radiators
6x Noiseblocker eloop B12-PS for air intake

Arctic P12/P14 are fantastis fans! I cant undertsand how is it possible that they are so good and so cheap.

I had to drill a few holes so it took me a while. The material is 3mm and 2mm stall so it was not easy to do it with a cheap drill.

I use neodymium magnets for covers to have easy access to cables, pumps etc

Next update todays evening or tomorrow :) I have some buisness to do :)

Re: Project BEHEMOT 2021/03/13 13:03:23 (permalink)
Ok, Lets go with next parts!

To keep the right distance from the top, I use a small "thing" made of two m4 cubes, two m4 washers and an m4 screw.

    It start look very good

The fans will be mounted on top of a magnet frame so I can access the motherboard ports without any problems. The fans will be powered from one PWM cable, so all you need to do is lift the cover with magnets and disconnect the PWM cable to get to the IO ports of the motherboard. Easy and simple solution.

For the fan frame, there will also be dust filter with magnets. The top fans and those at the bottom next to motherboard will intake the air which will be sucked in from the inside by the fans on the coolers at the front, back and behind the mobo tray.

I also use power button, reset button and button for interior light.

I must make PSU frame because big hole with cover next to PSU is a little bit to short If I want to remove PSU by it

Cat made quality controll and all is approved

    David and GOLIATH

COSMOS is soo small compare to BEHEMOT.

I ordered fittings but will show them when they will reach me after 2-3 weeks.

    It will be some special

Maybe tomorrow or next week I will mount MOBO Tray. I am too tired to do this now

Now I am going to designe frame for front and back radiators and MORA 420 LT

I love scrolling thought build threads like this.

And I always had the impression that the Cosmos was a fairly large and roomy case.   But your new build makes it look like a mini mid tower.

Ladies and gentlemens, MORA is here!
    What a huge monster!
Space between MORA and mobo tray will be enough for barrow fittings and all cables.
MORA will hide all cables and soft tubes, great!

I worked a little bit with p14 cables and 9 fans have only one 4 pin pwm connector without tons of cables.

Now I can design the mount to the MORA.

I am thinking about taking the journey and building my own case. I tried scrolling through to find these answers (perhaps I missed them), however, I have the following questions:

    1. What material are you making the bulk of the case out of? Aluminum?
        A. follow up question: How heavy is this? Will you need a forklift to carry this around?
    2. Are you doing the metal work or you going through a company?
    3. I have been researching if there are any grounding concerns when making your own case. Is this something you are concerned about?

     Keep posting, this is inspirational.

    1) I use steel 1.5/2/3mm of thickness. This is very big case with a lots of hardware, water blocks etc in final config so I decided to use heavy and solid materials. Unfortunately, steel is very difficult to machine and very heavy so empty case weight around 45 kg.

    2) I design all parts and send it to my friend's company to make ready elements but some of them I do myself.

    3) Hmmm, interesting because I didnt think about it. I must ask my friend whose did around 6 custom cases.
