Can someone already running dual 1080Ti for folding give me some power usage numbers. I'm getting odd results from various power config websites and could use some real world results.

How specific are you looking to get? I have two 1080 Ti and a 1070 but I don't think I have a way to measure power. If you look at benchmark tests, under load, a single 1080 Ti is around ~280W. I went for a 1000W PSU and I'm doing fine with 2 1080 Ti and a 1070.

I don't think anyone knew about it until now. I would grab one but the price isn't worth the ~10-20% increase over the 1080 Ti.

well... i hate to say this but i just couldn't hold onto $1500 without spending it >. < so i'll have two 1080ti's that i can put on my kill a watt power meter and give you exact power draw friday. BUT, i will say that if you are using founders cards they will most definitely be throttling down due to their hard thermal limit of 84C. so unless you are putting them under water you will most likely never see more than ~200W max out of each card.

I'm looking towards a 1080Ti FTW3 and whatever AIB style card I can stepup my 1080 FTW2 to.
Pretty sure my 660W power supply ain't gonna cut it, but I've seen one SLI review put combined draw at 654 Watts at the wall. I've seen between 1000 and 1350 watts depending on the power supply calculator.

I do not think a single Game out their can push a Graphics Card as hard as Folding and some BOINC GPU Tasks can.

I can at least go by your numbers. I'm strictly on air cooling here and 2062Mhz is as far as I've gotten so far as stable overclocks. My gaming needs aren't SLI friendly anyway. I only run a 4 core processor so I'm hoping 1000 Watts will be enough. Them 1200 Watt units are expensive. If I'm gonna buy one I'm gonna go titanium.

I would say anyone going SLI or Two GTX 1080Ti Graphics Cards should get no less than a 1000 Watt Power Supply.

The cards are rated @250W TDP each and 130W for cpu and another 50-100W for everything else is only 750W. Getting 850W will work as long as you do not OC.

I don't go to extreme with the overclocking. My CPU isn't overclock able but I do oc my folding cards if possible.

well each card can do 120% tdp, so max of 300W per card is only another 100W across the two. even so when was the last time you saw F@H run at 120% tdp?

I am running two GTX980Ti and an E5-1550 on an EVGA 850G and it seems to be running fine.
Just make sure your using the heaver duty cord that comes with the 850W and not a light weight one from a 650W PSU.

I have a server grade power cable from a blade rack. It's a pretty thick cable. I think I'm gonna get a 1200P2 unit for some spare capacity.

The Cable that comes with 1200 P2 is the same size as my Dell Server Cables just not a long.

Anyone think I'm pushing it if I run 1080Ti FTW3 and 780Ti SC together on AX850?
1070FTW & 780Ti ran fine though while I had it.

OK! two 1080ti's on a 650W PSU will work until the ambient room temps start to cool down and the cards are no longer throttling themselves down to 1700MHz. as for what i read from my kill a watt meter i saw 550W avg while it was running and not rebooting itself due to power spikes. 750W should be fine on air, no OC, but 850W is what i would consider safe for two 1080ti's.

Well, this certainly puts things in perspective. I definitely need a new PSU. But that price jump from 850 to 1000 to 1200 is just frightening. I guess I'll finally cash in my evga bucks. Of course I'm only considering Platinum and above, I wish I could afford titanium but that's a stretch.
