Yeah, I'm probably gonna go for a 1000 Watt T2 or P2 when my April bucks get added.

OR you could get the 1200 and be really on the safe side and add another GPU later on............well since......you know.....you'd have plenty of power available.......

Size constraints on my motherboard make tri gpus unlikely. Also, I probably can't use my 3rd pcie x16 slot at all as I am using both of my nvme slots with pcie drives. Besides the fact that the headers for power and usb block installation of 2 slot cards there. I tried it once to give more breathing space for my cards. Unless there's a pcie extender with stand so I can place it on top of psu cover.

Looks like at full load I can save $15 a year. 1000 vs 1020 watts 24/7 at 8.63 cents per. Assuming 2% Platinum vs titanium gap.

Anybody wanna guess what figures we would get Diamond (gotta be something above titanium) class efficiency?

the biggest thing to note is that peak efficiency is @ 80% load. if you are only 50% load you are not at peak efficiency.

Titanium is supposed to be 2% more efficient across the board. The 10% load at 90% efficient is the main draw for me. The more expensive your power, the sooner you break even. It's a shame it cost so much to run a 240V line.

My 3 1080 Ti at full Folding@Home load w/ 85% fan speed runs 800W.

A friendly reminder for everyone. If online calculators say you need, for example, 649W power supply, dont go and buy a 650W power supply and think everything will be fine. Always stay safe a buy a bit more.
Trust me, it will make your life much easier on the long run.

i guess he sees that your 90 degree plug that does not come with that power supply and assumed one is there? but ~810W on air seems fine to me. 90% tpd for the 1080ti is 225W. times three cards is 675W. plus the rest of the parts at 145W is 810W total.

no, i do not need calculators when i can do the math myself. and 850W for two 1080ti's is plenty. spending more money on something you'll never use/need is just wasteful.

This^^^^

Fun fact, I ran through the EVGA Wattage tool and it recommended 850W for 2 x 1080ti with a Z170/i7 6700k and one hard mechanical drive.

I have 3 1080 Ti and a water cooled CPU on a 1300W PSU and it's only pulling 808W, so...

My 1080 and one 1070 are currently pulling 400w from the wall on a AX860i, granted I only have a 25w cpu idling away and 1 HDD but I would not be worried about a pair of 1080Ti's and a 1070 onto this PSU.

the point is as the title suggests. we are discussing the power draw of two 1080ti's and to my knowledge it seems the consensus is 850W is plenty for two 1080ti's.

I have 3 1080 Ti and a (AIO) water cooled CPU on a 1300W PSU and it's only pulling 808W, so...

And, then with them slow cards all you need is an 850 Watt PSU overhead I would still say a 1000 Watt PSU.
So pull out your 1300 Watt PSU and put in an 850 and be done with it.

Is wanting enough power to cover my ass a bad thing? I just added my 4th card, so now the 1300W serves me well.

I was Joking based on what Chris21010 said all you need is a 850W for two GTX 1080 Ti Graphics Cards.
But now I know you are adding a 3rd card from another Thread from Chris21010 . (Now you are posting a 4th card)Coin On
You should see my big rig it has a 1300 G2 AND a 1600 G2 One for the MB/CPU/Pumps and one for the GPUs
I am all for Overkill, but some are not. Also you do not use UPSs and I use them heavily.

Got in on the Hybrid Kit when it came back in stock. So I am now expecting it and a 1000W P2 power supply Wednesday the 10th. Now I have to do the step up from the 1080FTW2 within 20 days or so. I'm still hoping for another step up option but I'm setup either way. The FTW3 elite in blue is due to ship at the end of the month. Can't wait to kick my ppd into high gear.

That sounds great. I don't get near your ppd so my processor might be underpowered. My 1080 only gets 750k on a good day, most of the time it's down in the high 600s.

Got my new PSU hooked up and waiting for my FTW3 and just requested SC Black step up.
Now I've got a hybrid kit to see about offloading.

that hybrid kit would work great on a 1080 ti founders. that is what i did on my founders card as you can keep the fan, front/back plate, and most of the housing. you basically just remove the clear cover over the heatsink and plop that bad boy right on there.
