What's everyone's opinion on the older ek xlc loop? I could order that and a titan pre-filled block today.

Supposedly good if you get a good one, but the problem with the older EK Predator range (XLC) was that there was no stand-alone GPU AIO, you had to buy it as an extension to the EK CPU AIO. Unless you buy a 360 radiator, it may not perform as well, and that may create issues for some depending on their case size.They have the pump attached to the radiator rather than the waterblock, which makes the radiator bulkier than a standard radiator as well, again creating problems for some depending on what case you're using.
 
EK stopped selling the Predator range themselves back in early January because there were some issues with leaks apparently and they may have even done a recall (not sure about that though), so you'd have to buy from a reseller and may end up with a bad one, as well as possibly paying a premium for it due to demand. There's still a few around but not many. A custom loop might be a better option, and cheaper.
 
Maybe this is the industry's way of getting back at NVidia for not letting anyone else release the Titan XP? ..but unfortunately the victims are the ones who purchased the Titan XP, at least as far as decent cooling goes.
 
* as I suspected - looking on Amazon, you can buy a used 360 Predator for $280 lol, then you have to buy the Titan X waterblock for ~$130 from EK, plus another $30 to have the quickconnects on it.. plus shipping on all of it and you're looking at $450-$500 for a partially used cooling system.. forget it.

No they didn't. They are still using the media materials from the 5188 model and the exact same specs and description as the $119 model, which is according to their own materials is functionally identical.
They need to tell us what improvements justify increasing the price 50% for the same product.

No worries guys, after waiting months the price increase is only $40.

Now at $159.99.  Seems like EVGA is really trying to screw their customers.

One more proof their a big problem with management in this company. Seems like it is run by kids.
Im bying this kit because I have no other choice and I never buy from them again. Lesson learned :)
 
Edit: I just realised that the new shroud picture they put on the hybrid kit for 1080 ti/ titan x is the same picture of the 1080 kit modified with photoshop.

You can afford a $60 game, what is another $45 for BS season passes and micro-transactions....not like you NEED them right?

I do agree that it stinks.
But ultimately only EVGA knows how were ordered or how many they normally sell for Ti launches. They could probably order a larger amount for the general 10 series launch as on the whole there is a lot more volume there.

I'll still probably shell out for one anyway as I'll have two cards in my system and really need the top card to stay cool.

I guess this is THE week boys. Like the previous 30 ones before it ;)

I checked a few times from work, never saw it in stock. I wonder if it appeared for a brief minute before selling out. I guess someone would post if they had scored ..or not - plenty of non-EVGA members wanting this AIO.
 
Wonder which has better odds - scoring a Titan XP / Ti FE AIO cooler, or beating the house at Vegas. After 8+ months, I'm thinking Vegas.
