All i want to know is if the P67 FTW will work PCI Express @ 16x/16x with space between the cards... that's all i want... if is yes then probably i am going to get it.

Currently if i want to get 16x/16x with my Maximus IV Extreme... card have to be installed next to the other so there is no space between the vcards...

if you read the way the NF200 chip works, you would then know that you don't actually have x16 -x16 to the CPU.  Sandy Bridge CPU only has 16 lanes of PCIe graphic capable lanes.  Your second connection @ x16 is only to the NF200 chip.  The NF200 communicates with the CPU though an x8 lane.  secondly, when you attach a second GPU, the 1st slot drops to x8, as the NF200 consumes the other 8 lanes.

So in essence, in SLI/CF with the *67 PCH, with two video cards, the best you actually have is x8 - x8 to the CPU.  Add a third card, and you now have the NF200 dealing with taking the info from 2 video cards and pumping that info through 8 lanes to the CPU.  If you are only using 2 cards, you are better off using the 2 native *67 PCH (x8-x8) connections, and forgo the NF200.  The NF200 is really only necessary in the case of more than 2 video cards.

I think you are commenting it without experiencing it or reading how it works on this particular Asus board... no offense...
On the Maximus IV Extreme, 2nd and 4th one are 16x/16x each and related with the NF200. And actually... you can use those slots to get exactly 16x/16x... acording to GPUz or AIDA64 or any other app.
According to Asus manual, populate all 3 slots it will be 8x/16x/16x. Or can disable NF200 using PCI Express slot #3 and use 8x/8x from the onboard controller.

Here is my experience:
http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=963683

I have 3 variations directly related with what slots i used. The lowest scores was with 8x/8x from onboard controller.

Nope, I know exactly how it works.  You got a slightly better score, and you certainly can't argue with that.  ~6% that you would hardly see in any gaming application.  Did you note the two lower graphs at x16-x16 and how much harder your GPUs were working to generate that 6%?  And how much additional heat they were generating?  The graph clearly shows the bottleneck created by the NF200, so that much of the NF200 is true.

Unless you got your pictures/comments reversed, your worst run was actually x8 P67 + x16 NF200.  the GPUs where working hard there too.

But I will concede, 6% IS 6%, and anything is better than nothing.  Apparantly, when the NF200 can use all 16 lanes, it performs slightly better than the native P67.  But I do stand by my first statement that the x16-x16 is only from the slots to the NF200.  The NF200 can not create new lanes to the CPU, there are still only 16 that can be used.

Yeah, 8x/8x pics and 8x/16x pics are inversed... The lowest score i got it was with 8x/8x using native CPU Lanes.

Gigabyte is done making P67 boards and is moving straight to z68.  This is totally what EVGA should have done, versus being behind the 8 ball.

Totally understandable, the P67, with the launch of the Z68 completely lost its reason for being in the lineup.

Actually I saw the most recent Gigabyte Z68 UD7 in this article http://news.softpedia.com...ts-Priced-195161.shtml

This one is much better, but you will need to cut off your left n*t to buy it at $398

And anyone is still believing that somehow the FTW will be $200
If it is, it's gotta be pretty gimped

Correction....it makes sense for Gigabyte to stop the P67 and move forward with the Z68. I read that Intel lowered the chipsets pricing and the Z68 will encompass all of Sandy Bridges features into one. I guess I will wait and see how the Z68's are configured.

100% agree SirJames, there will be some very surprised EVGA fans when pricing comes out, whenever that might be, probably while I am installing the z68 from gigabyte, lol

Coming back to the topic:  (P67 FTW)

The board is said to have 8x/8x/8x/8x available. Does that actually mean it's 4-way SLI capable and therefore has (2) nForce 200 controllers?

Well since Techpowerup misquoted the original P67 pricing from Tcmagazine, I'm thinking the FTW will be maybe around $279, but the question now is if the Z68 is really better at OC'ing then why should we bother with the P67?

What I'll say is this - it sure would be nice for those of you who are still interested in an EVGA board to have some word from the company on pricing instead of this guesswork so you don't go out and get a Maximus.
For Heaven's Sake, Gigabyte has already released pricing for their upcoming Z68 board!!!

the p55 classified is still going for $300 on newegg and anyone who thinks sir james is off on the price point for a much better p67 board has lost their rocker. personally with no specs from evga or prices, also with gigabyte stopping all production of p67 boards and focus only on z68 i have to believe evga has done the same and just not said anything. besides who will want a evga p67 in may when they can get a gigabyte z68? use your heads here people. sir james i agree 100% about evga prices and honestly think they wont even release a board for this flawed chipset design when z68 is weeks away.
whatever evga releases it will be $300+ p67 or z68 and evga stands to lose more money even releasing a p67 board at this point cause they wont sell.

really think people would you have bought a 790i evga board 3 weeks after x58 evga board released?

I am sure the boards will be P series and not Z since there was no mention of H boards at all.  Which will only mean a lack of SSD caching for most people.

According to Jacob "Sorry I do not have an ETA yet." I find this disappointing, I was hoping, actually I still believe, EVGA P67 FTW would ship the first week of May. With Z68 (now pseudo confirmed for release May 10th) it seems pointless to wait any longer than that for EVGA. Oh well just a little update that tells you nothing :(
to EVGA: good luck we're all counting on you!

That thing is genuinely larger than I figured it to be, and there's really no way to cleanly plug in that cable without it dangling.

That cable is so short, now we know what that PCIE 1X slot will be used for. I guess EVGA couldn't find a way to make that cable longer so we could put it outside of the case ... oh well.
