So I have been having a serious issue with my card.. The heat levels are fantastic and I have erased and then reformatted my computer in order to ensure my drivers are up to date and that no other programs are interfering with my GPU.

Now I crash in:
Warframe every 10 -15 seconds
TF2 every 60 seconds,
Second Life varies between 20 seconds to 4 hours

I have dialed down every setting I could and in cases when I was able to, I dialed down and turned off physx..  No difference.

I am finally at my limits. what is strange is my friend and I built our pcs together and used the same components and he is chugging along just fine!..  Someone please tell me that there is a solution...

How exactly does it crash? Be more detailed.

Good point!  I suppose in this case it is a good thing that it is reliably... un..reliable?  :-) Either way I started 6 games and they all responded as follows:

    In Second Life

The Display Driver Crashes and then : a pop up appears with the title \
    “NVIDIA OpenGL Driver”

A TDR has been detected. The application must close.
    Error code 7
    Would you like to visit
    for help?

    In Smite

I will play and this game seems to be more stable, however after a random period of time ranging from 10 minutes to 1 hour the game will freeze. When I alt tab out I get the display driver crash notification but the game is thankfully able to gracefully recover as I alt tab back in and continue with my face melting.

In Warframe  and every other game really

The game Freezes and I am still able to hear sound. In fact the others in my group can continue on. It is not until I task manager out that I am then removed from the server and booted from the game, according to my poor abandoned team mates. (to be maudlin about it)  When I “task manager” out I find the same pop up stating that the display driver has crashed as in every instance..

Thank you in advance for any wisdom you can part with!

    -Full Computer Specs?

    -Have you overclocked the GPU?
*If overclocking has been done, try setting the GPU back to default.

-Are you using the latest drivers?

    Intel i7 - 4770k
    ASUS ROG Maximus VI Motherboard
    16 GB Ram
    Windows 8.1
EVGA NEX750G Power supply (in case someone may think its a power issue)

GPU just factory overclocked and the drivers are the latest.

Down clock the GPU and check fan speeds and reinstall ALL of the drivers, Also try to clean out the GPU heatsink if you can.

    the drivers are the latest.

That could very well be the problem, the latest few NVIDIA drivers seem to be plagued with various issues..I would uninstall EVGA Precision and then use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to uninstall the NVIDIA Graphics Driver and all the optional driver components in Safe Mode using the Clean and restart (Highly Recommended) option..After restart, let Windows install the standard drivers and then perform a Custom (Advanced) install of NVIDIA Graphics Driver 350.12 or 347.88, selecting only to install PhysX along with the Graphics Driver, reinstall Precision and go from there..If you have any games optimized with GFE (GeForce Experience), revert them before uninstalling or the game settings will remain optimized by GFE..Optimizing game settings with GFE can have adverse effects in some games.

ok just dropped power target to 80% with new drivers after using DDU.  GPU temp target to 71 and offset the GPU clock by negative 105.  The mem clock offset was negative 122

    Still crashed.

Give the following a shot to see if it helps correct the problem...

Modify TDR timeout period via windows registry.
    • Exit all Windows based programs.
    • Press Windows Key+R, type regedit in the Search box, and hit enter. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Browse to and then click the following registry subkey:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\GraphicsDrivers
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers
On the Edit menu, click New, and then select the following registry value from the drop-down menu specific to your version of Windows (32 bit, or 64 bit):

    For 32 bit Windows:

    1. Select DWORD (32-bit) value.
    2. Type TdrDelay as the Name and click Enter.
    3. Double-click TdrDelay and input "A" without the quotes for the Value data and click OK.
    4. Close the registry editor and then restart your computer for the changes to take affect

    For 64 bit Windows:
    1. Select QWORD (64-bit) value.
    2. Type TdrDelay as the Name and click Enter.
    3. Double-click TdrDelay and input "A" without the quotes for the Value data and click OK.
    4. Close the registry editor and then restart your computer for the changes to take affect

Have you tried increasing board power? If not, try setting it to 105-108% and test with factory clocks.
