Should you write the SKUs of the stolen cards somewhere? Although I insist that we never buy something without proof of purchase but on the other hand fraudsters can make fake receipts and deceive people.
There is no reason to buy something from EVGA again. Greek souvlaki I do not know English I translate with Google .... Sorry.

the_Scarlet_oneso buyers should take the appropriate steps if they purchase a stolen product. To do those steps they should be aware that they bought stolen card. I bet majority of people will not bother to register card while it works. And only at this point they will figure out that they bought stolen card. And it will be too late to open dispute on eBay or file chargeback.

Easy solution if you are worried about buying a stolen GPU, request Serial Number before purchase. Enter this into EVGA’s warranty checker. Should come up with a notice of no warranty. https://www.evga.com/warranty/check.asp

100% No one is going to be thinking about whether or not the card is stolen when buying from Amazon/newegg market or eBay. Always use your credit card so you can do a chargeback people.

Maybe The time elapsed is a concern that varies from card to card. However, most cards these days have a zero fraud liability. If you are the victim of retail theft, that is most definitely consumer fraud anywhere in the USA. In the following hypothetical scenario, the consumer has a strong chance of at least partial recovery: 1. Unknowingly purchased stolen merch 2. Paid in good faith with zero fraud credit card 3. Product fails, manuf. refuses to honor warranty due to item originally being stolen property 4. Consumer files police report 5. Consumer notifies card company to initiate fraud protection refund Realistically, the cards were probably stolen by miners or a group that intends to sell to miners. Online retailers leave too much of a paper trail for this to go the AmaEggBay route.

Yeah I really doubt any of these cards will be sold; American corruption insures they will go to mine crypto.

I am sorry EVGA, but this is a scummy move on your part. You will get an insurance payout from this I am sure of it, but to hurt the unsuspecting buyers is down right an awful thing to do. You are a big Corporate company and denying warranty to a buyer who is unaware of this situation will make your Great reputation for me go to Garbage.

It is illegal to purchase stolen goods. Has nothing to do with EVGA punishing unsuspecting buyers if any of the stolen cards make it into their hands.

No company in the world warranties stolen goods. Is the only way to keep your good impression is to LITERALLY INCENTIVIZE THEFT AND ILLEGAL SALES? Anyone who buys it is receiving stolen property, which is a crime itself. Here's an idea, set all your most valuable goods on the street for someone to steal and then when it breaks, pay the crook the value of the item they stole. That's a great business plan.

Let me guess.. you already purchased one and were not able to register it. It is illegal to purchase stolen goods - it's called 'receiving' in many states. Doing it knowingly can result in criminal charges, doing it without knowing may result in no charges, but the goods will be seized and returned to the rightful original owner, and you would need to claim against whoever you purchased it from. Yes it sucks for you, but blame the freaking THIEF, not the victim!

This only harms the buyer if they need warranty service... so like a very small percentage of people who buy these cards. Do people imagine that the majority of graphics cards require warranty service? The way EVGA customers talk about warranties baffles me.

And that is why people should report to the police if they receive stolen goods. The only way the thief will get caught is if people actually do their part instead of trying to blame the company that the product was stolen from.

the_Scarlet_oneAnd that is why people should report to the police if they receive stolen goods. Then what? Nothing. I don't think local police office will bother do to something about report that someone bought stolen graphics card off Ebay. Once someone spend $100 from my debit card that was activated, but wasn't used even once. When I reported it to bank and ask them is they will try to find those people respond was " No". EVGA should not only show information that GPU is stolen, but also should collect all information( where it was purchased and so on) from people and feed it all to police office who work on this case. But if they got insurance for those cards, they probably don't want bother at all.

Nereus One thing's for sure: DO NOT BUY GPUs ON EBAY or similar marketplaces - you may end up with a GPU with no warranty, and the police at your door to retrieve the stolen property.
Where else are you going to buy from, I've been on their queue more than a year ago and still haven't got any notification. It's almost impossible to but from retail. I guess I just have to avoid buying EVGA product.

I'll tell you how's gonna work. Evga get payout from insurance and won't warranty any of the cards. And the ppl who did this will most likely sell them overseas to miners. They won't use the warranty anyways. EVGA can't ban GPU from mining FYI. Congrats EVGA, Congrats the team pull this off. Who cares about gamers. Oh. ARE YOU SURE IT WASN'T AN INSIDE JOB DONE BY EVGA ? MSI ALSO "LOST" 40 BOXES OF 3090 FROM FACTORY. YEA RIGHT .

Sure. EVGA works with the police who are handling their report of the theft from the truck. A buyer who purchased in good faith goes to his own local police, and works with them. That police office will contact EVGA to return the property. EVGA will connect that police office with the police office handling EVGA's original theft case. At no point do Jacob and Peter hop in the Mystery Machine to engage the buyer or confront the seller. That's what the police (and potentially FBI) do. They also don't decide to suddenly tell the police to drop the case, because "insurance will pay for it." Your anecdotal experience with a $100 loss at a bank has nothing, at all, to do with this situation. Now, I'm sure you're an expert on this as you are with all things, so I look forward to you telling me why that's not at all what happens, because of an anecdotal story about the time a friend gave you Bubble Yum that didn't really belong to him.
