ASUS Rampage X299 Apex is reall LN2 board... only 4 DIMM slots and 2x 8 pin for CPU and now keep some world records.
Apex have something attractive maybe even more than Rampage Extreme...

i was just looking at that board, that thing is sick looking and asus always throws some extra stuff with their top end...

None of the Asus boards have the extra six pin on the pci-e lanes for extra voltage. Still leaning towards the EVGA Dark it just looks mean!

Extra voltage you probably don't even need. Anyone that buys X299 for daily real world use, they won't need it.

None of EVGA boards offer the same premium audio features ASUS does. That is something people will actually use everyday.

Not for me overclocking and bench marking first gaming second. I had the same audio on my X99 Classified and it sounded great through my headphones. I've had very good luck with EVGA mother boards not so much with ASUS two dead boards. The customer service was not so good from ASUS. Support is way better with EVGA......

i have had really good luck with both, i can pull out my asus NF500 amd board now and it will still boot right up, and its going on something like 14yrs old now and my x58 e760 is still going strong. for that matter i did just boot my even older gigabyte KT400A deluxe with my old barton core cpu, and that one i bought in like 2001

I have been looking at all the X299 boards. I have MSI right now it's been a great board. The only reason I have this board because I wanted a second gen board with OC socket and EVGA did not make one. I really like the DARK because it has everything I need and no LED's. When the full spec's come out I will make my final decision between the EVGA Dark and the ASUS APEX.  I have not seen any other board I am interested in at the moment.

I don't know how someone could pay so much for board near ASUS Rampage V Edition 10.
That's best board for X99 platform.

Look board for you...

This is new holder for M.2 ROG DIMM.2... looks like they go near RAM and two M.2 could be installed on RVIE, and 4 on Apex.

Rampage VI Extreme have little LCD on heatsink/shield and CPU Frequency could be visible.

Preorder for I7 is on 19th, so will be able to preorder X299 on 19th Also?

They're still not listed on the product section of the website, and they still haven't released the spec sheet or manual. The original announcement from May 30th is still all the information they've given.

I really like the look of the X299 FTW K. I think it might look a little better with a dark gray/black chipset heatsink and IO, though. Though, I assume EVGA chose the gray color to better match the shroud for the 1080s? If I do go with X299, its a toss up between this and the Asus X299 -E Strix.

Don't looks for $130 motherboards on the enthusiast platform.. You won't find it. I am pretty sure the cheapest I have heard is around $250, and I want to say that was asrock.

If you have a small budget, do not look at X299 platform. Go with AMD Ryzen or Intel 270 platform.

As stated in another thread, EVGA has not released prices on their boards, or any info, so do not buy from a sham site that just does whatever they want. Buy one once EVGA lists them and reveals an MSRP.

Yes, he understands that.. he said "It is all about the Preorder for the CPU not the Motherboards", and you replied "Not true, i have cpus for quite some time now, about 3-4 weeks, full range to 10core"..

Basically, he said you can't preorder EVGA motherboards, and you fired back that you have had Cpu's for a few weeks.

So, he asked you again, where were the motherboards, since you misread and responded to his post. Now that he restated the same problem, you are saying the same thing he initially said.

Just a moment of confusion is all.

There may be some from asus or gigabyte or one of the lower teir manufacturers but they will be pretty sparse.

Re: New X299 Series Motherboards 2017/06/20 18:47:59 (permalink)
I recently preordered the new x299 Micro and the i7 7820x (Mindfactory actually is one of the biggest Warehouse in Germany, so I'd say its not a ripoff nor anything. I always got CPUs that performed well better than 99% of the people i know. they also have the most time the lowest prices within the EU)
a hefty price increase though as the x99 micro2 was half the price as the x299 micro on launch
however, I couldnt help myself on the purple color scheme - sucks to own a 1080 Founder Edition and its green logo now

still waiting for a decent Gskill quadchannel kit

That is RGB lighting. It can be set to any color you want it to be. it just happens to be purple in the picture.

Since you ordered and don't mind the price, I have to ask.. Why did you order something the manufacturer hasn't even fully announced?  The MSRP hasn't been posted and the motherboards haven't had a launch as of yet.

As you can see here: https://www.evga.com/products/productlist.aspx?type=1 or here (for EU) https://eu.evga.com/products/productlist.aspx?type=1 there isn't a single MSRP or x299 motherboard up.. Just curious why you wouldn't wait for the board to be announced at least.  You do realize that IF EVGA does a pre-order, it is going to take even longer for mindfactory to get your pre-order filled, correct?  EVGA EU always takes a least 2 weeks after US launch to receive their first stock, and then it could be weeks after that before mindfactory gets their first board.

I am mostly curious if it is worth the wait and possible extra cost for something that isn't launched.

have you ever thought about stockings? just because they havent set the launch OFFICIAL doesnt mean warehouses dont have them. actually price is set by EVGA, so Mindfactory cant change anything. Mindfactory was about 3weeks ahead and one of the 5 warehouses in EU that sold AMD Ryzens at their launch
dont lynch me for the leak, but there is actually a warehouse that also sells a delid tool who have the new Intels in stock and I know right

oh yes, I do know its RGB, but I really like the purple cobweb scheme

edit: actually I dont know EVGAs politics, however, GPU and mainboards always shipped out on official launches. I also know people who carry business of whom share the same experiences.
