Yeah, I didn't know the base the step up on the card you are sending in. It seems to be that way at least.
I don't know if they take into account what card you're stepping up from or not. Just trying to rationalize it somehow in my head. Hopefully this is our week!

Looks like this queue isnt moving much lately. I wonder if they were building 3080tis instead of 3090s

Yea most likely. They also have a different sku to fill from the same GA102. I think the queue will be a little slower from now on.

Journey almost complete. Congrats. Sent card this morning w/$400 insurance and it should arrive Friday.

Judging from what people have posted here, it takes around 1 month to step up to a 3090? If so that doesn't seem that bad at all. I may consider doing this. I was under the impression that it would take 4-6 months with how hard it is to get cards now.

...depending where you are living. In NA, tru story... in EU, definitely much longer. I'm waiting for two months already and this is not even long though there is no listing for an EU 3090 stepup queue...

Did the step up program change at some point? I recall that the price charged for the step up was the difference between the price of the step up product and the price you paid for your original product. And if the price you paid is higher than the step up product, then rather than EVGA crediting you the difference, the step up cost becomes $0. That is, the main benefit of the step up program is that it allowed users to purchase an EVGA product from an authorized retailer without having to worry about an inflated cost as that inflated cost could be used towards a step up/flagship product

That... doesn't make much sense... If the retailer is charging double the MSRP, the retailer gets all the money while EVGA would be losing hundreds on each cards... The original goal of Step-up is to give the ability for users to upgrade to a newly released card when they had just bought a GPU. So you would buy a 3080, then a month later the 3080Ti comes out and instead of being f'ed, you can upgrade directly from EVGA to the 3080Ti.

The thing is, I recall that is how it USED to be and that was the main attraction, for me at least, of the step up program; one would not have to necessarily worry about over-paying as that amount could be credited towards a higher end card
