Hi! *waves franticly*, I am pretty new to folding, but i am a geek from way back. I decided to do some folding after i got my new FTW card and seen EVGA advertising for it on the install CD. While I won't run it constantly, cause Photoshop and folding is not a good thing, i figure while i am web dinking it cant hurt to let em use some CPU/GPU. Anyway, here I am. <--- as you can see i post often, joined 09 and still new member lol.

Hi, I just started Folding yesterday on my Main pc. I got another PC that i want to fold with, but was wondering if that is against the rules as far as getting EVGA bucks? I ask cause in the rules it says "You must use Folding@Home as an individual, combining as a group will lead to disqualification" Thanks

Welcome aboard!!! as long as the PC's are yours they don't care what it means is only 1 person can collect per household you can have multiple machine either under your own name or under different names at your house - only thing is only 1 person can collect EVGA bucks per household (max $10 for both tiers) so unless you want your family to collect points under individual names (internal competition) or they want to have their own folding stats - their own contribution ie your wife may want her own stats your son may want his own stats - but only 1 person can collect the EVGA bucks - and only for 1 of the accounts it best to fold under 1 account the clause you are referring to is for instances where fellow teammates help other member get to their tiers (when they can't do it) ie... you fold for me or I fold for you - when your short or away... That is not allowed

Hi, just discovered this folding. Glad to find something that I can contribute to doing something big while being the computer nerd that I am. Wish I had known about this sooner.

If I was to do some gaming on my PC that is folding. Would I lose less ppd if I paused the folding while gaming and resumed it after, or just let it run the hole time.... since the game is unaffected by the folding in the background. Thanks.

yes you would lose points A Suggestion schedule your gaming for particular time. 1.select finish on the FAH program well in advance of that time this will finish out any work units and not fetch new ones. 2.once they are all completed you can go play a game even with FAH idle 3 after gaming and want to resume folding select fold on FAH v7 Welcome aboard

Woohoo started folding for EVGA. :D I only have a small rig for EVGA to start with. My gaming rig is being used to quickly get to the top of my old team since barely anyone is folding there anymore, then I'll dedicate it to EVGA. The gaming rig gets about 50k-60kPPD. Eventually, I will build a dedicated folding rig so my gaming rig can be the gaming rig again. I did like 3 hours of World of Tanks this morning, and those 3 hours I lost folding time. I am folding because: My barber I knew for almost 15 years died of cancer. My GF's cousin, at only 21, had cancer. My GF's uncle has lung cancer. Although he was a heavy smoker. It will benefit everyone in the long run. I want some EVGA bucks! Come on everyone does lol.

Hi Flybye Nice to have you on board,, if you fold using you forum name it makes the EVGA bucks a bit easier to set up and also for the Milestones and Millionaires threads :) I just checked, you used your forum name before so just change your team number to 111065 and it will work just fine :)

Hi Ali Nice to have you onboard Just foldaway, to get the EVGA bucks you need to have your folding name the same as your forum name (we can get around this but it takes the EVGA staff a few days to resolve) If you are a new folder, our team stats can be found here: http://folding.extremeove...ry.php?s=&t=111065 After you have completed a few work units, in the link there is a "name search" option drop your user name in there and you will get your own stats within this team - just bookmark it. If this is Grandma and sucking eggs stuff, sorry Any help or just answers you need, post up someone will be able to help. We also have a milestones and millionaires thread - you post up your milestones (1,000,00 points or first 100 work units any thing you feel an achievement about) we'll add you into the millionaires thread as and when you post up the first million :)

I just completed two units for the GPU and am now completing the second for the CPU. The difference between my folding name and my forum name is that my folding name has no gaps in between i.e. 'AliMan', whereas my forum name is like 'Ali Man', so if that could be sorted out by someone then it would be great :D Afterburner

Heya Have been sniffin' around this folding thing for a little while, fantastic consept. So I jumped in. If I can do some good for science, while even help out the team for fun, I'll be more than happy to give my share. In my work, I have a little "Pool" of computers. My office computer is mainly running 24/7 so it will do some for the long term. My home computer with a pair of 690's should also be able to do some folding. (People say I'm a fool for having two 690's, now I can say I use them for science lol) I'll see if I can hook up a couple more. Happy to contribute together with the EVGA team Oh the folding counter hasn't showed up yet, perhaps it needs some time?

Just noticed some new people joining our crew and just wanted to add my Welcome to the Team to you all! Orange, having two 690's is never foolish 'round here where you are surrounded by people that go all day long about hardware. I have a 690 too and love those GPUs. They aren't king Folders amongst the top producing GPUs, but will do a lot of good work and are beastie on games. They also look really cool too, but I don't hafta tell you that. So, (2) 690's? Oh yeah that's class and style in my book!
