Hi all! I just purchased parts for a new build and I plan to start folding at night. I have a ASUS P8P67 Deluxe mobo with two EVGA 570 GTX SC HD cards on the way. I see that the deluxe mobo has 3 PCIe 2.0 slots, two for x16/x8 and one for x4, so I have a question. I have an extra EVGA 8800GTX lying around and want to know is it possible to put it in the x4 PCIe 2.0 slot and the 570 GTXs in SLI in the x16/x8 slots, and utilize them all for folding? Thanks! P.S. The rest of my build includes 2x 4GB G.Skill Ripjaw X CL7 RAM, i7 2600k Processor, HAF X Case, OCZ Vertex 2 SSD, WD Caviar Black 1TB HD, OCZ 1250W Power Supply, and a Corsair H70 Cooling System.

Just wanted to check in as a new folder. I hope to contribute whatever I can in the CC ,as well as being a regular folder. I used Jedi's tracker to get going, what a great tool. @ Mystery I would think you could use all the cards, but I don't know. Your going to have a real nice folding rig there regardless.

Not new to folding, but new to the team and FAH. I was doing a few projects through BOINC before my gtx 295 died on me. Replaced it with a 460 and after some OC'ing on the processor and gpu I'm pulling about 22k ppd.

HELLO EVGA FAH! Noob folder here. Just this month have I begun contributing regularly. I got in on a sweet deal at newegg, bought 2 SuperClocked 560Ti for SLI and I'm loving the top-end settings I can play with. Before that I was folding with my single 470 here and there. Now when I fold, the program only uses my bottom card - is there a way to set it up so I can devote more cores to the cause? Regarding the ChimpChallenge .. I have changed my folding name to EVGApes, seems to be contributing points already as I can see. I completed the sign up sheet for the CC and I guess I'm waiting for some key? I really want to get in on the CC and have all my available points count towads winning the Jaded Monkey! Is there anything I missed? Am I all set on the EVGApes, ready to rock out with my **** out!?

Hello, well, I built my machine about the end of summer 2010 , It was kind of complicated to get the FAH GPU tracker working correctly back then. I just tried it again and it was really easy this time. The Auto config worked really well. currently pushing out 60,041 PPD on this beast, looking forward to contributuing to the cause

Howdy all, Just started folding today, will wait until tomorrow to see if I set it up right - seems the standford site only updates every 24 hours? dunno. anyways I'm using the FAH GPU tracker and it seems to be working well. It's certainly maxing out my card (GTX 460 EE OC) and CPU. On that note, is there any way of setting it up so it only uses say 10/20 % of the CPU?GPU? I don't have a dedicated machine, so it would be nice to be able to run it in the background when I'm gaming/working. Plus I really don't like running my system at 100% would be nice to be able to set it to run at 80% or so overnight etc. ( I like to have a bit of a safety margin) Anyways, onwards for a noble cause! Peace out

You can set the number of cores in Configure in Tracker. With your i5, 1 core is 25%, 2 is 50%, etc. The 460 is a bit harder. You have to add a parameter to the client.cfg file (but I don't remember it). The is a gaming pause feature in Tracker's Configure. Don't worry about it. Soon you will start to realize that the more you game, the less points you earn. How else do you explain people like Tank who spends $1,000 on a 980x chip just so it can sit there and fold all day?

well, I certainly don't have that kind of cash lying around just to 'fold' with! I tried setting up the core selection option in Tracker, clicking apply and making sure the applying new config settings line came up, but it kept using all the cores. Also in the setup/configure/heat control there appears to be an option to select 'default GPU usage percent' but that does not appear to work either. I changed it to 50% hit apply, but it continues to use 100% and when I return to the heat control screen the percentage has returned to 100%. strange. Replies may appear at odd times as I am in Australia (9.30 am 26/5 or 5/26 as you put it!) cheers Simba
