These aren't really "my blocks" they are DD blocks with a custom top on them. The only block I can call my own is the ACB (Air cooled block) in my sig. I really look forward to the Delrin versions I am going to cut soon though... that should look sharp!

Gratuitous ... watercooling an sr-2 as your first watercooling rig is basically like learning to drive for the first time in a ferarri. fun as heck, but dangerous if you scratch it.
I almost Fell out of my seat laughing at this. I applaud your analogy :) only because I honestly Used the SR-2 as my first major Water cooled Rig. and Ive been in my bosses ferrari ( alas not driving, but still fun ). My only suggestion is Don't buy Used Parts like I did... errr. Buy them with caution and test the living crap out of them before you put them into production. I got ~10 fittings from someone and all of them were 45* compression fittings and they leaked at the base when pressure was applied to the loop. asides from that I never had any problems with my setup and that was because I tested everything thoroughly. Buying New and Custom parts made the Build a Blast and a thrill to work on and show off once it was done. So jshaynes don't be too worried about messing it up. Honestly it is quite hard to screw it up. Heck I'm sure There are things I could do better but Watercooling is just like a gun, Respect it and it will respect you. People have choices but almost all the choices are good depending on what you are shooting for, some are just better than others. Thats just my take on it.
Rig specs coming soon...

sadly i think the ratio is more like 70% patience 30% finances for me lol but I'm still collecting good parts just over a much vaster amount of time then i believe many could cope with, been looking at individual pieces for at this point nearly a year and still unable to even power on yet because of the parts still on the list to pick up >.<

Gratuitous the setup on either ek system or nates is basically the same, watercooling an sr-2 as your first watercooling rig is basically like learning to drive for the first time in a ferarri. fun as heck, but dangerous if you scratch it. a little bit of common sense and general mechanical inclination are necessary. Just read up on how to plan your loops, pumps, fittings, and above all leak test completely before you power anything. Hah, yea I have been gathering that same impression. Wish I had kept up with the water cooling world earlier, but didn't really need to until now with the workstation. Ah well, like ya said plan it out and take it slow . . . Gratuitous i think nate is in the middle of his run, if you want to wait a few weeks extra for us to build and test my new cpu tops with the bridge, you will be able to get away with 4 less fittings for a much cleaner less cluttered tubing run. nothing like the joy of custom:) That sounds pretty sweet. That would be combining the upper CPU block with the mosfet block? Are we talking few extra weeks meaning more like few extra months, or really not that long? =)

well...I plan on having a prototype block on my rig around 2-3 weeks. of course this mostly depends on nates schedule. at that point if we did our job correctly, then nates standard turn around time would apply. the original cpu block took about 2 weeks for design and cutting and we nailed it perfect on the first run. murphy does poke up his head from time to time and nate and I actually do work for a living and have families and such so no promises. the cpu will bridge to the mosfet block on cpu 0 and bridge to the chipset on cpu1. the chipset and mosfet blocks will remain unchanged so they can still be used without the cpu blocks. I am going to try to make the cpu blocks able to migrate to the srx so that only the new chipset and v-reg sections have to be purchased when you upgrade, but without having an srx yet and from only looking at the pictures, I can only say I will try to make it happen. may need a third revision once the board is in my hands upon release. the goal is backwards/forwards compatability.

absolutly:) remember, this is not the air cooled combo block that nate makes. just a kickass custom top for the m6.

you are correct. forgotten was thinking of a differant project nate was working on that he wants perfected for his build.

It would be great if the water & Air project could be incorporated into this design. then you would truly have a totally new technology that could be patented and sold on open market with your business & i could see it even being sold at some point to a major distributor for a cool mint.

Nate if you see this, sorry for not replying to your PM. I've tried to a couple of times but looks like my PMs aren't being sent. They don't show up in my Sent folder, even though they say "Sent successfully" when I submit. Anyways, I'm definitely interested in a water block set. I'll see if I can get this PM thing ironed out with one of the Forum admins.
