I cant send you a pm, so i have to ask right here. :-) I've ordered a SR-2 and 2x X5680s - im a Student and i want to build a videoediting machine. Im limited to my budget so i have to overclock to get some performance boosts. I shot on ebay, the Mobo/CPU and 48 gigs of ecc ram for 500€ with 2 cpu copperplates. Lol, wow I just looked back at this thread. I bought my blocks and I believe the board you prototyped on 4 years and 3 months ago. The fact that you still get requests blows my mind. Heck I even got the board and blocks at the "end of life" on the SR2 as the SRX was about to be launched. It's a shame Intel crippled the SRX by not letting you OC though. Wish that EVGA would release another dual socket enthusiast board. There is just something sexy about dual socket boards that don't have green PCB's lol.

Hi nateman doo siding the subject a bit if you don't mind me asking. Wondering why you sandblast your cold plates? Does it make heat transfer from plate to water more efficient? milling my own blocks and looking others ideas. Thought had in mind nickle plating them. Nice work by the way.

wow, didn't realize anyone replied here. one could argue that it creates more surface area for heat dissipation into the liquid. I do it mainly for aesthetic reasons.

Hello, I've been eyeing an sr-2 for a while and finally bit the bullet, I was wondering if you either have any blocks that I could buy, would custom make one for me (don't cut the fins for anything, just channels, I plan on getting it cnced at .5mm channels) or even help me out with files to get it cnced locally.
I'm aiming to reproduce what I did with my old x58 system, which was a 5ghz Xeon, I know this will be harder on the evga board so I'll be binning cpus for it too.

Hi nateman, just finished going through this thread and I have to say your work is amazing! I was wondering if you're still doing SR-2 stuff as I am interested in maybe an aircooling setup for the chipset/vrm. I won't be able to buy for a while but I wanted to check if you still make these and wanted to work out the details beforehand.

Oh wow, nice to see you're back. The timing is both convenient and inconvenient cause I recently got a working sr2 (unlike last time lol), but inconvenient cause I've spent a bunch of money on a number of things. I'll send you an email in a day or two cause I need to think about it for a bit lol. Depending on cost I may or may not jump on it now. Also this time it'll be a normal waterblock I want, not some kind of aircooling setup. lol
