It has been one messed up launch. From NVIDIA's 30 series, to AMD's Ryzen 5XXXs and, finally, AMD's 6800s...what a disaster of a technology launch season. And I honestly don't believe it is all due to the pandemic...these would have been paper tigers -- to a certain extent -- even without the supply chain disruptions. PC gaming and the enthusiast population is substantially bigger than it was for the last major series of launches. Bottom line.

That is why I now have a Microcenter credit card. And like 10 Raspberry Pis...
I fight the urge everyday to grab a MC credit card lol. It helps i guess that for me its a 7 hour round trip drive to microcenter from Tulsa to Overland Park. Same distance pretty much to the Dallas store but its less traffic going to Overland Park. Last time i went in there back in April to get my FTW3 Ultra 2080 Ti i grabbed 3 of those $19 drones they had by the door as you walk in lol. Got me on that pesky impulse buy lol.

This is affecting everything though. PS5, XSX, a lot of routers, all new video cards, all new CPUs. People are spending more time at home and are therefore spending more on things they can enjoy at home. None of these companies likes not having product to take your money with. People say paper launch but I don't think they know what a paper launch is. I also don't think they've been following the reports of demand for product based on retailer/e-tailer assessment and volume. There is a lot of demand right now for anything entertainment related.
Need to spamtribute 100 posts for Elite status to be able to get a KingPin because Jacob. My apologies in advance.

If 100 preorders were taken, it’s impressive that 94% of us reported the time we ordered. Then again, anybody punctual enough to get a card is also punctual enough to report our time. I look forward to this group dominating the too 100 single card hall of fame :)

Kingpins have efficient power delivery and use the same amount of power or less power than the inferior 3090 models. You should be fine with NVidias recommendation. Edit: I should clarify that this is under normal overclocking with the AIO or hydro copper ock, not with dry ice or LN2.

No, I don't need 1600w for Kingpin. You will be fine with 1000w. The reason I bought AX1600i is that to keep my usage around 50% of it's capacity so it runs cool and quiet. Also it's hands down the best consumer PSU out there and is extremely efficient so wanted to be done with PSU conversation for a while and for my future upgrades

You won't pull more than 600-800W max in the most demanding of games even if you're able to sustain 2200MHz+.

Steve from GN recommends using a non-smart power supply for liquid nitrogen like his EVGA 1600 and I noticed other extreme overclockers shying away from the digital power supplies as well. It could just be superstition though. If you don’t plan on going LN2 then none of that is relevant anyway.
