Yay! Now, if you're brave enough, you can try adding back the info you had before and see if it will take it.

Ok fellas I have another question. Will running the GPU client at the same time as running SMP have an effect on how fast my TPF is on SMP?

I see you got the kinks worked out already Each gpu client slows down your smp, as the gpu needs some cpu cycles as well. How much, I can´t tell. You can even try to fold on only 6 or 7 cores and leave the rest open for your gpus and other tasks. Ancheck what gives you the best overall system output.

Yeah it took while but I think we have finally figured most of it out haha. Is their a way to assign the different cores to fold and leave one or two for other things besides adjusting the percentage?

yep, in your shortcut, where you have the -smp .... make it -smp x(where x is the number of cores you want to use) -advmethods -whatever else the screen I´ve posted earlier with the tpf is an i7 950 running -smp 6. To leave me 2 cores for gpu, browsing and everything else

K thanks. I set it to a 6 and it did lower my total CPU usuage from 100 to 92 or 93 percent or so. Resource manager does show the two cores are not as stressed as the others but they are still up around 80 to 90 percent. I suppose that is the GPU client and other resources using that.

Probably, but mine looks the same. Running -smp 6 or 7 won´t give you as much ppd as smp 8, but leaves you ressources for other stuff. It´s up to you to find the best compromise.

K guys I have a another question. Right now I am working on a 15000000 protein and I am averaging 460 ns/day....this is odd because an all the other cases I have been observing the 20000000 units and most of the time the 10000000 units I will average 240-250 ns/day...is their something about the different unit sizes that may cause this or what do you guys think is happening? Thanks, R3V

Thanks, R3V From that post (showing ns/day) it looks like you are opening the viewer, is that correct? Avoid this at all costs. The best thing that can happen is your wus slow down. The worst thing that can happen is your system crashes. Everything you need to determine how well your setup is working is contained in HFM.net.

use Precision under config it has a option to see gpu load you will see the gpu at 90%+ load if it's ok less thing 85% then smp is taxing threads i havent seen what your system's spec's are so i don't know how many GPU's your running but i have done more points with a i7 and a 260 solo in a day if you PM me i can setup a full set gpu and cpu smp for you so all you have to do is click and go (if i do you will need winrar to unzip as it will have a password it will have HMF setup to)

I don't know if taskmanager will continue to keep the affinity you set once the fahcore shuts down and restarts with a new wu. The other programs will always ensure the fahcores are running on the right cpu cores.

Any clients you are running can be displayed in HFM. Same setup as SMP just point it to the folder for the client you are entering and it will get the info.

I tried to add it using the add client feature. It doesn't seem to be detecting it. I put in the log folder as the GPU client folder in my program files and I assume the CPU frequency I put in for the SMP will be the same for this. Anything I'm doing wrong?

Do not point it to the Program files directory. Each GPU should have a directory of its own under users\(your username)\AppData\Roaming these are the directories you want them to point to.
