I updated my socket 2011 system from X79 to X99 3 weeks ago.

The parts I installed NEW were Asus Rampage V Extreme, i7-5930K, G.Skill Ripjaws 4 32gb (8gb x 4) 2666MHz, 4 x Samsung EVO 256GB RAID 0, eVGA supernova P2 1200, eVGA Red sleeved cables, Phanteks PH-TC14PE_RD + 3 Corsair AF140 fans.

My old parts were a Seasonic 1000watt platinum power supply, 2 Hitachi 4TB 7200RPM drives, Asus Xonar Essence STX sound, Intel 10GB Fiber NIC, Corsair 600T Case, eVGA 980 GTX FTW video, a couple of burners and  Tesoro Red LED Mechanical keyboard

I installed the new eVGA P2 1200 2 weeks after everything else and it was the last thing I put in the system. All my issues started after this.

I am just at my wits end trying to figure out what happened to my stable machine.

For the last 2 mornings I come in, turn the monitors on, log in and the keyboard input is going nuts now. I press keys to input text and programs start launching and charm bars start appearing randomly.

The mouse seems to work fine. No amount of unplugging the keyboard or trying a different port helps.
The "Load Defaults" below and BIOS reset clears this issue up as well.

Now add this to my previous issues. When I power the system down or restart my RAID 0 array disappears. I cannot get it back until I load defaults reboot, change the AHCI back to RAID and re-enter all my settings.

All this started with me swapping out my Seasonic 1KW platinum with this eVGA SuperNova Platinum 1200.
I had no issues at all before I put this power supply in a week ago.

OMG, do I rip out all the tied down sleeved wiring from 2 systems to put the Seasonic supply back in or just send this thing back?

I upgraded to the latest 1401 BIOS yesterday and it seems to make no difference.

I have left the CPU at stock speeds today with the exception of RAM voltage. I will see what I have tomorrow morning. If the results are the same, I will return the eVGA supply for a refund and buy something else.

I think it's the MB myself. Swap the seasonic back in and report back if you're still having the issue.

Do not start by ripping out your wires that are tied down.  Simply open the front side of the case, disconnect all of your current wires and leave them in place.  Set the Seasonic in front of the system, and connect everything with the wires just neatly placed where you can connect everything.  Just try it without taking the old one out of the case.

And like Sajin said, it doesn't sound like the power supply at all.  it sounds like a finicky motherboard issue.

I have been pushing to get clients work done today so I will have some time to work on my own gear.
This issue will be easy to replicate, just put the old Seasonic back in and do a simple overclock and shut the system down a few times and attempt to power back up and/or restart. If it's fixed then my Boot array will stop disappearing.
Stay tuned, I will update in a few hours.

Whatever is going on with this motherboard, it is not likely the power supply.

I have the old Seasonic 1KW Platinum connected now and I am still having issues.

I am having to load default settings at least once to maybe 10 times to get the RAID array and even the Intel RAID OPROM to display.

I am wondering 2 things as try to find some pattern to this madness:

What BIOS settings could cause the RAID array not to be shown as a HDD boot device?

Could either my Intel NIC or Asus Sound card be stepping on the RAID OPROM address?

I've seen USB keyboards give really weird output when the keyboards internals are messed up, and also when the port itself has flaked. Have you tried with a different keyboard?

As for BIOS settings, it sounds like something is corrupting your CMOS settings, but this is going to be exceedingly hard to pin down. Asus may be your best bet to assist further with that.

This keyboard has been nothing but reliable. I put what ever is going on squarely on the motherboard at this point.
OK, disabled the xHCI BIOS settings as per Asus ROG forum support recommendations

Also I removed the Intel E15729 x8 10GB Ethernet card and went back to the on-board NIC to see if my RAID array would remain visible after a restart and a cold boot.

Yes I think it's motherboard too.
I immediately know that PSU 99% can't give you such problem and easiest way is to replace him and if everything work normal with Seasonic to send 1200 P2 on testing in EVGA. Whole G2/P2/T2 line is reliable and best models arrive later as 1000/1200 P2, 750/850 G2 and 1600 units.
I'm aware that Rampage 5 have maybe most problems of all, I mean on Rampage III and Rampage IV and Black Editions...
At least customers say that. I expect more than only 3 stars on Newegg for 70 reviews for best motherboard X99 and I should upgrade for 1-2 weeks. Usually top products are with 4 sometimes even 5 stars. Example G2/P2/T2 PSU, Classified graphics, Rampage should be same in motherboard class.
ASUS had everything to build perfect motherboards, and they didn't make many models, they are concentrate on X99 Deluxe, Rampage and X99-E WS... GIGABYTE have 15 X99 motherboards.

Re: Issues Issues Issues since I installed this SuperNova P2 1200 power supply 2015/04/20 09:22:13 (permalink)
    I have a SOLUTION finally!!!!!!!

    It was the network card.
I am using a Dell RN219 PCIe x8 NIC. This is basically an Intel 10 Gigabit XF SR fiber optic NIC.
It has PXE Network boot firmware.
I had it installed in the bottom slot.

I removed the card and everything returned to normal. No more freezing during restarts and disappearing Chipset RAID array

    I went to Intel's site here: http://www.intel.com/support/network.../cs-008212.htm

Download the firmware Flash Utility. Look inside the archive for the DOS based ..\DOS\BootUtil.exe
Put this on a DOS bootable USB flash drive and install the NIC in a PC and boot the stick to DOS
    at the C:\ prompt ENTER

BootUtil -NIC [gets the port number of the NIC I want to program. In my case the onboard was 1 and the Dell was a 2]

Enter the following at a C:\ prompt

BootUtil -NIC=2 -FD [Disables the PXE Network boot firmware. YAY!!!!]

Enter the following at a C:\ prompt
BootUtil -NIC=2 [Displays the current condition of the NIC and any options set]

Put the NIC back in the Rampage V but placed in the 2nd full length slot from the bottom.
Powered up and entered BIOS, disabled onboard NIC. 10GbE Dell NIC is no longer showing in the boot menu. Awesome.
Saved and restarted and went back into BIOS like 5 times saving and shutting down or restarting.
Before the system would have frozen by now or the RAID array would have disappeared.

    I am claiming success

All my overlock settings from before work fine once again. Most things are on AUTO except the memory voltage. I have that at 1.25 volts. I also have TURBO turned off in the CPU power settings.
I am so happy I stayed in the solution. I was ready to do a refund on this board today.
I can remember 3 different eVGA Classified x58 motherboards I had that were all finicky as He!! when it came to addin cards with OpROMs.
I have no idea why it worked as long as it did before it started acting up. I am just relieved at the moment.
Thanks to all who chimed in to help!!!

So then "Issues Issues Issues since I installed this SuperNova P2 1200 power supply"
Should Be "Issues Issues Issues since I installed this Dell RN219 PCIe x8 NIC"

Glad you are back up and running.

That is what was so puzzling. The NIC has been in the system the whole time. All was good for 2 weeks of OS and application installations. The day I put the new power supply in it started acting up. Go figure!
This power supply was so well reviewed I just could not imagine how it could cause these issues. I am not sure if it was moving the card to another slot or turning off the Network Boot firmware that did the trick. I am just glad to have my main rig back stable again.

I would say with the Bios Update something changed that caused a conflict is all I can think.

It turns out I have/had a sticky "WINDOWS" key. It is the last key I press to lock the console at night (WINDOWS KEY + L)
I move the mouse in the morning and type my password. It is like the WINDOWS KEY is stick depressed. Unpluging and using another port does not work because the key acts like it is depressed.
For right now the solution is the press the WINDOWS KEY 5 to 10 times. This seems to unstick it and other keys work fine by themselves from that point on.

    This a Tesoro Durandal Ultimate
    http://www.tesorotec.com/durandal-ultimate/
It should be near bulletproof. This is the third issue I have had with it. It was sent back with firmware issues in the first couple of months. Every so often keys stick and repeat across a page.
This is my daily driver, I think it might be time to look at the Corsair RGB keyboard.
