For now EVGA operations are ongoing.

I guess it surprises me as most of their other items are not really "made" PSU, CLC, Keyboard, Mice, etc. They really don't "make" anything anymore lol. Profit margins have to be pretty poor over GPUs in the long run as they sure sold more GPU's then their other products from the looks of it. I hope Evga stays around but midweek madness seems to be over perm so I have nothing to buy.

Actually that is not really true. Profits made on EVGA PSUs for example seem to be better per percentage than previous GPU sales. EVGA is moving along quite well.

That definitely seems to be the case. Corsair for example could easily have of entered the GPU market place instead they stick with PSU and mice and keyboards as well as SSD and RAM. Nobody seems to be saying Corsair isn't in the GPU market they must be about to close.

Hoggle,

Well put!

Captain Discombobulate,

in 2008-06-03 i bought Corsairs's 1st PSU: the "CMPSU-620HX".

it was a 620W ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 2.91.

i say "was" because, well, read further:

Corsaire picked it to be their 1st PSU because Seasonic made it and ppl would LUV it. And as a result, their foot would be all the way into the PSU-Marketplace-Door.

The Corsair "620HX" (OEM Seasonic) as ppl came to know it, was beloved by all users that used it, including me; because it was an unbelievable PSU. and yes, Corsaire has profited for going on two decades as a result of starting with that one single PSU (OEM Seasonic).

The Corsaire 620HX (OEM Seasonic) was originally in my 2008 Crysis build (with Intel E8400 Wolfdale CPU and BFG GTX8800 Video Card). That PC became a Media Center TV Server in 2003.

And u know what? it has ran non-stop for 10 years! it has always been on. grand total life equals 15 years. (Edit: of the Corsaire 620HX PSU.)

Corsaire moved on to less quality OEM PSUs much of the time so u have to be carefull with PSUs from them. In otherwords u must research who made their PSUs... BECAUSE CORSAIRE HAS NEVER EVER MADE A PSU!!!

But EVGA has continued to improve their PSU line, by using better and better OEMs.

PS
and in the said Media Center TV server ^^, i replaced the GTX8800 in 2003 with one of my two EVGA GTX560-Ti video cards. so it too has ran for 10 years straight. EVGA has much potential to continue! IMO they have plenty of good rep with PSUs alone (let alone all other products of theirs) to counter any negativity coming at them constantly from all directions.

EVGA's PSUs are getting worse, not better.  If EVGA is going to be the next Corsair, things would have to change.  They would have to improve their quality and reduce their development time to match their competition.
EVGA's mice and keyboards are nothing to rave about either.  Those mostly need software and firmware improvement, but also some have quality/design issues.

Yikes don't compared evga to corsairs power supplies lol. Just because they provide power doesn't mean they are on the same level. Also Corsair makes more money on memory then the power units. Corsair has diversified way better then evga has over the years. Example there keyboard and mice actually are good along with their liquid coolers and fans. They have more innovation then evga does in these other category's

I firmly believe eVGAs future at this point rides on redesigning the old SLI line of boards (obviously drop SLI from the name) and launching a more budget enthusiast board on both Intel and AMD platforms. The X570 AMD boards were actually good boards. The X79 SLI I had 11 years ago found it’s way back to me still working.

You call exiting graphics card market and soon the motherboard market moving along quiet well....

EVGA will take a big hit on PSU sells due to no longer selling graphics cards. EVGA latest PSU offering only has a 3 year warranty. Then we have hardware reviewers like GamerNexus telling viewers EVGA is slowly winding things down. That's causes consumers to think twice about buying EVGA products.

With EVGA BIOS team out the door and KingPin looking for new hardware partnership. I doubt will see any EVGA motherboards for Intel CPU's coming out 2H of 2024.

That’s the biggest issue. The talent is leaving. We might just be seeing the end of an era. I actually decided to stick to AM4 on my build this year and will probably be running my 5800X (soon a 5900X) for the next 4 years. I got an X570 eVGA board on the way from eBay. I did buy the Allstate protection thing so yeah. It was between that or the Crosshair X570 Extreme. It’s truly crazy how much longer hardware is relevant now. And it’s sad to see Evga slowing down. Who knows they may not be going away but they surely aren’t top dogs anymore.

I'm still running ASUS Hero Z270 with I7-7700k from 2017. I plan on upgrading when Arrow Lake CPU's come out.

Hey, welcome to the X570 gang. Atleast for the time being you will have a decent AM4 board.

It wasn't quite a year ago... 8/11/2022 was when they sent the payouts for the program, I got 37 dollars lol

Is EVGA going to close? -- Maybe but not soon, they have a brand that still has value before they finish running it through the mud. They will use that brand to sell low quality cheap power supplies for a premium price until they can't... They have been doing it for a while. I first noticed when I tried out the G5 series about 4 years back. Even their support was trying to blame my home electricity before taking the RMA the 3rd time. All 3 had issues and were making noise, somehow each replacement was a little louder. Kinda sad to see EVGA kinda decay like this... really seems like Andrew Han got generational wealth during the pandemic and decided to cut his responsibilities and run what is left into the ground because he's too greedy.

In my opinion it's history repeating itself.  3dfx did the same thing nvidia has done... compete with your AIB's.  The difference with nvidia is that they aren't reliant on gpus for gaming graphics card sales anymore which means they could care less about the companies that helped build and support them.  I'm sure as time goes on more AIBs will drop nvidia.  As for EVGA remember they are a private company and haven't diversified well to weather different economic climates.  I am optimistic though that someone will buy the brand and continue the business model that made EVGA great.  Highend custom electronics built to be pushed beyond stock specs.  If not, someone else will rise to fill the demand.  At worst EVGA will become like BFG, a classic badass board partner that pushed the limits every generation.  Thanks EVGA for great times and helping me learn way more about electronics than I could have ever imagined.

I'm sure someone would have gladly taken over (although far less likely now CEO Andrew Han has all but destroyed the company), however it seems Andrew Han was unwilling to sell EVGA - he's apparently determined to take the company down completely and retire. Why take the company down though? No idea - probably because he's a giant tool. Instead of leaving a legacy of captaining arguably the best company in the business, his legacy is to be pretty much despised by everyone for intentionally sinking the ship.

@nereus  Thanks for info and that's unfortunate.  The little I've heard from industry people years ago about Andrew, was not good.  Sounds like there's a lot of pride messing up a good thing.

Hopefully my EVGA products will run for quite some time without issue...because I have no idea if they could be sent to anyone for repair.  So far so good...and I suspect no issues.  Even with my current BIOS,...all is running well.

If at some point in the future I have to do a new build, I'll have to decide which company/brand to go with.  Which sucks....because I WOULD have gone EVGA again.

If an EVGA item fails during warranty apply for an RMA. If EVGA had decided to stay with GPU manufacturing I would have an EVGA RTX 4090 in my PC now instead of another company.

Do you think shareholders give a $.  EVGA can put their sorry ass right back on map. Hmm..   Copyright, production,.  "Skinner"

EVGA is a private company and has no shareholders.

EVGA is still thriving selling smaller items.
