It now seems difficult to find new products and there are literally no products available on their website except for remanufactured products or items that are probably lying around in the back of the warehouse.

They haven't confirmed that yet...but literally all evidence points that way.

I'd love to hear any kind of official message on what their plans really are (i.e. timeline on the wind-down).

It's anyone guess when EVGA will close up shop. I don't think will see a return of EVGA online store. Some people have said EVGA sold it's remaining online store inventory off to Newegg.

Can EVGA make enough $$$ from re-branded power supplies sales to keep the lights on long enough for graphic cards and motherboard warranties to expire. Who knows. It's hard to recommend EVGA brand due to not knowing how long the company will be around to handle warranty claims.

It appears as though it is slowly going away.  I am about to do a few builds for friends and none of them will be including EVGA products in them.  I don't have faith that the warranty / RMA system will sustain.  It's sad to see all this.

Re: Is EVGA going to close? 2023/07/06 06:24:08 (permalink)
What it is looking like now, with key staff moving on to opportunities they have a future with most definitely yes sadly. It seems only projects planned before all of this happened are getting released. There was a major layoff at EVGA in Tiawan, Kingpin is gone at least from doing anything R&D wise on new products, motherboard staff is talking about finding new employment sooner rather than later. Not looking good, I really do not see EVGA being around for more than three years and that is being generous. Andrew Han basically said he would let the ship sink than let someone control or buy it. Sadly now the damage done is done. No sane investor would touch it with a ten foot pole, it is now a liability not really an asset. Have been using EVGA since the late 90's to early 2000's, With how things have been ran the past oh decade and some change have been slowly shifting away. The motherboards finally getting right surprised me with Shamino gone. Yet now, my pc in my office as it stands of yesterday there is not a single EVGA product in it, just the living room pc that has an EVGA 3090 TI FTW3 Ultra Gaming, an EVGA DG-85 case, and a wireless EVGA mouse. What's funny is the 3090 TI power link died probably not even worth RMAing, have had multiple high end EVGA psu's the past couple years just die on me resulting in going back to Corsair on both systems.

Things are really not looking good at all with how Andrew Han is handling everything. He is short time mode, and is just going to let the company fade away with a whimper instead of keeping it as an industry standard powerhouse Keith Rotchford made it into.

Ok
After reading the above posts I called EVGA the other day and the response I got was EVGA is making their products available to their retailers...
I took that to mean...They are getting the EVGA name out to the public (this is my opinion)
Reason I say that, is when, I checked online all their products seemed to be available on the
Amazon.ca EVGA Store and Newegg.ca..(some are back ordered but you can also have some shipped immediately)
I said it would be nice if they would make an announcement in the EVGA Forum..
I feel they want to stay in business.

Hmmm, I've got 4 years of warranty left on my 3080 and at least 3 on my PSU.
What's the guarantee that if I need a replacement within that time I'll be able to get one now?
Should ask for my replacement 3080 up front to ensure I'd have it on hand if needed.

They've always sold to Amazon and Newegg. The difference now is they seem to be winding down their own web-store. This is probably a cost-savings effort in their path to winding down the skeleton crew. They're definitely still selling things, and even making some things. These are the items that they had contracts in place for before the CEO made his "head towards retirement" decision. So they'll fulfill those contracts and keep enough people in place to manage that as needed, as well as support, etc. They're not just going to suddenly close the doors and go dark. This is a slow and staggered wind-down.

Hello,

We have seen false internet rumors today regarding our ongoing operations.

EVGA announced back in September of 2022 that it was leaving the GPU market but would continue its other lines of businesses.

EVGA continues to build & sell PSU, as well as its line of Z790 motherboards, capture devices, mice and keyboards.

EVGA continues to support and warranty all of its products to its customers.

Consistent with our prior announcement, EVGA has scaled down some operation and some employees have resigned. EVGA wishes them all the best in their future endeavors.

Postings suggested that Vince “Kingpin” has left EVGA. This is false. Kingpin remains with EVGA.

EVGA’s operations are continuing with no change to our commitment to our customers.

Thank you.

Question then. Why is everything in EVGA store OOS? Is there a supply issue? Or are you closing that down?

Odd now I cannot get on the website with my pc but can with my phone. For a company that claims to sell products the online store is looking pretty bare, with only etailers according to the EVGA web store as having stock. I see newer products already discontinue, not a single psu, motherboard, aio, nor higher end accessory/kb/mice in stock. Have been on this green earth for a long time. Have seen a lot of companies come and go. I smell a diversion from the truth. Why? Maybe to sell remaining stock at etailers. I also know with the latest windows updates some EVGA products are on the fritz and need firmware updates again yet do not have them. Not really putting a lot of confidence out there with the statement made and what we are seeing. Last I checked the shortages from 2020-2022 are over.

Even GN is reporting on seeing between the lines.

way back when am5 launched jacob said they wouldnt be releasing a board for this first AMD generation. tbh, they make OC performance based mobos and there isnt a huge market for that from what i see, everyone wants B650's for cheap so they can run their x3d chips on 6000mt ram...
