got ya. I was debating because my brother is building a pc too but he already got a GPU so I was thinking of giving my i5 to him and me getting an upgraded one since I want to do some animation stuff. i7 or i9 in that case if I give my bro the i5?

Crazy market conditions. Who knew you could be happy with still having an "old" GPU somewhere. You're out of luck when it breaks. Then you need to pay a crazy premium in order to get een decent system going (or just wait). I'm currently water cooling my 1080Ti while waiting for a 3080Ti or 3090 FTW3 to become available. Well the Nvidia Keynote was along the lines of the 3080 Ti starting at $1199 and the 3070 Ti starting at $599... then you can factor in the general price differences we usually see and/or scalper prices.
