I guess it is still cheaper than the 3090, but it does raise the question on if to just get a 3090 instead, since there will likely be a run on 3080Ti for a while.

I'm quite disappointed in the MSRP from Nvidia. They are really squeezing every penny out of gamers right now. The 3080 Ti will only be about 10-15% faster than the 3080 yet will cost $500 more? That's a horrible cost-to-performance ratio.
Agreed. Which is why no one mentions prices of their AIB gpu's until the last second. They don't want the prices and word of mouth to scare off frugal buyers..
I'm actually happy that they are charging a higher price than expected. It will scare off potential customers who believed it was going to sell for $1000 lol.
Honestly me too. It does pushes alot of original potential buyers to the 3070 ti. Personally, I don't care if has a $2,000 starting price point I would still buy it just for the ultimate wireless VR experience. :}

Nvidia and their AIB partners haven't been able to come close to supplying enough 3080s and 3070s since launch. These Ti cards will do nothing to change that. And, AIB's have leaked their pricing for their 3080 Ti offerings at between $2000 and $2500 MSRP. For those who think you'll be able to get an EVGA 3080 Ti FTW3 for $1400 on launch day, please contact me ASAP about some beautiful, prime Florida swampland I'm selling.

It would have been nice if they limited the hash rate even more to discourage miners, down to 20% or so but 50% will have to do. The 3080 Ti is a large chunk of change, ouch.

The mining limiter is only for ETH... other coins are not affected unfortunately....

Hopefully can get away with a 650W psu for the 3070ti
what cpu do you have? With the base power of 290 for the 3070ti and no doubt will be slightly higher for aib cards. Depending on your cpu a 650w may be danger zone or may cutting it close but ok

Yes they have limiters, Nvidia announced that already.
Do you have a link to the details. Because with a limiter the demand will be much lower for the new cards, and old cards will be worth more.
