Dear Evga , Please understand that you are killing the gamer community by making multiple cards and not allowing us ( gamer's ) to purchase them without jumping through multiple hoops !!! Elite member or long time supporter does not matter to you.I really hope when this 3050 card comes out you will have the stock needed to fully fill all in need.Furthermore fix stock before announcing other cards launch to just have paper launch's . Thanks

WOW well said Bluesman your reply is the way the majority of the gaming community feels but these companies insist on juke us in to believing there with us, but there won't be help coming for years most likely. Its all mining that's who there catering to now and we all know it....

You could always start your own AIB and tell Nvidia that you refuse to make their products because people are salty.

I think 3050 should fall in between 1650 and 1660 Ti. But factoring in the DLSS, performance can be boosted (many of you know this already).

I have the 3050 on my laptop (cut-down version) and DLSS helps a lot when playing at high-ultra settings on some games @ 2560x1600.

On a side note, 3060 12GB is still available online @ bestbuy as of this writing, in case anyone is looking. Caveat - location-specific and it's expensive.

https://www.bestbuy.com/s...454318.p?skuId=6454318

That's awesome to hear the mobile version of the RTX 3050 performs that well.

As for the 3060, 12GB seems high for a lower end GPU since the VRAM is mainly needed for higher res which they won't have the power to maintain such high res to begin with so I think it's a waste there.  The RTX 3050 is a way better buy starting @ $249 for 1080p/60 gaming imo.

Still can't believe how much the RTX 3060s are going for.  Source

Certainly will do better on 1080p with even higher settings. Although a few games might need more than 4GB VRAM the 3050 mobile version is limited to. That won't be an issue with the desktop version thankfully.

Yes, 12GB is overkill for lower tier cards but the market is bonkers right now, many people would buy whichever is available and manufacturers know this fact and are taking advantage.

I'm still hoping for my 3060Ti.  Been in the queue since March 2021.  Missed my chance at a 3060 Non-Ti thanks to my mail collector not forwarding me the email.

Wouldn't be surprised if you could do *some* 1440p gaming with a 3050.  Of course, depending on the game and Graphic Settings. As others have said, DLSS will assist in keeping the FPS up a bit.

If you want a card right now and can't get anything better, I'd try going for a 3050 then initiate a step-up.  You'll be dropping a few extra bucks out of pocket for the whole process (shipping to/from EVGA, paying the difference) but still a lot cheaper than any scalping prices.

Depending upon the card you are actually aiming for, don't necessarily count on Step-Up getting you there.  EVGA has implemented some clearly defined upgrade paths in their revised Step-Up program rules.  The 3050 may not get you all the way up...

Can't wait to wake up on launch day just for the grand total of 5 cards that are produced to be instantly purchased by scalpers & miners using bots.

Guess my 1050 TI will get a few more years of usage.

The GTX-1050 TI is extremely underrated, and no one can tell me otherwise.

This is my first time buying a card through EVGA. I was hoping to get one shipped to a relative in the US but it kept leading me to this site. May I know where the cards are going to be shipped from? I want to know cause I might have relative in that country so I can dodge the tax I'll have to pay if I have it shipped to my country.

This is going to be my first GPU as I only started thinking about getting one in 2021 (sucky timing). I really want this over the AMD 6500 XT but I wonder if it really would be easier to get the AMD one because of the 4GB vram .... wish they had released both on the same day just so I have a choice. My worry is that I can get the AMD one on the release date but by the time NVIDIA releases the 3050 I won't be able to order the AMD one anymore.

PS My only goal is 1080P gaming, which is why I'm really looking forward to both GPUs

In the US, I believe items are still being shipped out of their distribution center in California.

TDP?

might be a solid Plex transcoder GPU with Turing NVENC and 8GB if the TDP is 75W with no external power input.

I'm just praying that EVGA uses a queue system paired with bot protection and manual purchase verification (I.E a real person looks over each and every purchase to make sure it was bought fairly) so everyone has a equal chance at buying it.

This will be the first time I'll (or at least will try to) buy a GPU on launch day. I don't have my hopes very high though given how the last dozen or so have gone thus far.

It's to early to compare the 3050 to legacy card performance that may or may not be equivalent. The value of the 3050 card will be that your dealing with newer components, theoretically efficient and compatible with many applications. We've all had tech that last 'forever' until it didn't OR until it was EOL and no longer supported. Despite supply chains availability the 3050 looks promising for folks looking to upgrade.

Well I wonder if they will do a 3050 ti after the 3050 release. Some say the 3050 will be a little bit better than a 1660 super but who really knows it’s just what I heard. so would it actually be a rtx 2050. Was there a 2050 desktop? Anyways I am sure if you blink on release day you will miss the opportunity to pick one up. I hope they make a bunch of them since I bet a lot people would like to upgrade me being One of them

If the performance is analogous to mobile versions, then 3050 will be neck-and-neck with 1660 super (not counting RT and DLSS). And there might be a 3050 Ti just like their mobile version.

Based on the specs, it looks like a GTX 1660 Ti with RT/DLSS features. Could be good if the price stays reasonable, but I'm not hopeful given the price of the GTX 1660 Super secondhand and at retail right now.

It will be nice if Nvidia/AMD/Intel figure out how to stop their devices from mining. Then regular peeps can buy cards again, and they can still make mining variants that sell for the ridiculous prices.

Agree... mining is killing it on top of the most current supply chain/production.  Hopefully I can figure out how to get a legit chance for a new card without waiting years.  Still on a 1060 here which is barely adequate.

Dear member, please do understand that new products are created by nVidia.  nVidia only gives limited number of chips to each AIB.  Evga has no control over the chip amounts and selections.  Not making new products will NOT result an increase of existing products...

for example, nVidia gives 1000 units of 3060 chips to Evga a month and Evga sells them as soon as it's ready.  Then this month nVidia gives 1000 units of 3060 chips to Evga, and another 100 units of 3050 to Evga.  Are you suggesting Evga not making any new 3050 when the chips are available?  That won't help 3060, it will still be 1000.  You suggestion should be towards nVidia, not Evga.

If not an entry level vid card, it might make a good backup card in case something goes down.

Hi all
First posting here. Looking to get an rtx 3050 when it drops later this month to replace a gtx 1650s that is falling apart.
Anyone have any thoughts on whether this will pair well with an i5-8400 (primarily fps's - cs, valor, etc.)? I've got another rig with an i5-11400 which I know would pair better but for now I'm just upgrading the 8400.
Thanks.
