Should be approximately equal to 1070Ti I think.

3050 would be great, wonder how the video editing capabilities will be on it

I would avail the purchase of this video card if it did not have the PCIE of the 4 generation bus.
Go to channel "Hardware Unboxed" ==> video "Will PCIe x4 Cripple the Radeon 6500 XT? PCIe Bandwidth Test".

Watched this. Very interesting. I also did some digging of my own afterwards and I can confirm most budget motherboards are at PCIe 3.0, especially the ones I'm looking at like the ASUS B450 Gaming. And given that I'm looking at getting an older CPU, probably a Ryzen 5 2600, it also only has PCIe 3.0 ... But even if I get a 3050 I wonder if I should get a motherboard and a CPU that supports PCIe  4.0?

Side question, do companies add vram to their version of their GPU at times? Is it possible that someone like Asus would release a 8GB AMD 6500 XT? Or is vram one of those things they can't change?

I assume Best Buy Canada will also release at the same time? Just checking as it's another option I might have. Thank you so much for your replies.

I don't know how they do it in Canada but here in US, they only launch an item at selected BB stores. Then maybe even for AIB cards on the same product line. At least for the 3080 Ti, I saw a Gigabyte model that's only available at the same BB store where the FE was originally launched.

Okay thank you. I'll just have to be on the lookout on online sites as I can only order it online. Hope I'll be able to get one. Way too excited to finally go from using laptops for more than 10 years, with my latest one only having an MX150, to finally being able to game on a desktop computer at home. Excited to also build a pc after watching tons of tutorials online for years now XD

Oh wow, that would be a huge jump. I don't want to throw water bottles into your parade but it might still be a little tough to get a gpu in the next few months if your only option is online. It sucks to be outside US as there's only fewer options available and enthusiasts usually end up paying a hefty price. I do hope there's plenty of stock available when 3050 finally comes out and larger number of people can join the EVGA queue.

Now, the AMD Radeon GPU, esp the AIB card, is a bit different story. Some Radeon 6000 series product lines are usually in-stock in most online stores like BB or Newegg. The prices are still high though but I am not sure if you're part of the market that can bear these high prices. AMD will also be launching a new model, i.e. 6500, later this month.

I'm kind of preparing myself that I won't be able to get one, especially since I have a ballpark figure in mind that seems to be low given the recent price leaks. I'm excited to see how the release would go later for the AMD 6500 XT. I want to see what happens XD

If I don't get one I'll just queue up here in EVGA and enjoy my Switch games for the mean time as well as games that my laptop can handle. Currently playing For The King ... and even then that stutters a bit at times.

I'm going from a Gtx770 so pretty much anything will feel like an actual modern video card compared to what I have currently.  I tried to play warzone and it was unplayable :/  Just getting back into the idea of games after a 7 year hiatus so...

You know I think laptop would be your best bet getting a decent gpu, e.g. 3050, 3050 Ti, 3060 at least, if you need one sooner. Most are between 1k - 1.5k USD. That isn't something I'd call budget laptop though and AMD will also be releasing something for mobile gaming. No price yet so keep an eye out.

I've seen the 6500 xt listing from our local microcenter store and it doesn't seem that bad at all. Price range is from $199 - $299.

I considered a laptop before but I want to upgrade to a desktop this time around.

I actually watched the AMD 6500 XT go live and I'm curious, it seems to be only Newegg that had stocks online. I thought Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart would post stocks as well but aside from one card in Best Buy that was already sold out before 9AM ET, they had none posted. Is that what I should expect on the release day of the 3050 as well?

I believe that the US queue will open on the 27th.  Not sure if Elite members will get in one day earlier.

Yes, there's lots of demand on GPU and we're all competing with bots.

Lots of people (and bots) watching BB so that'll be a little tough to get - unless a local pick option is available and is near you.

Amazon is more of a generic e-store rather than mostly electronics seller like Newegg. So you will have better chances of getting one in Newegg than Amazon I suppose.  IDK about Walmart but it's probably the last place I would look for a GPU.

Nvidia is more sought-after GPU than AMD so unless there's tens of thousands available on the first day, 3050 would be harder to get.

No, elite members will not get in one day early.  The release date and time set by NVIDIA has to be adhered to by AIBs.  So when it opens, elite will get the first 24 hours and everyone else then can queue after that unless EVGA alters what they want to do.  It is at their discretion, but the queues will never open prior to NVIDIA's set release date and time.

Did I blink and all the rx 6500 xt were sold out Or did they even start to sell them. Come children gather around the Post apocalypse campfire and I will tell you a tale. Many years ago we use to be able to walk in stores and buy gpus any day of the week shelf’s we’re plentiful with products. Now look at us fighting for scraps on the gpu soup que line. Oh how the mighty have fallen. But yet some hear a whisper of hope that it will rise again like the Mystical Phoenix And good times will be had by all again. We can only hope that is the out come of this pandemic that spreads far across the lands

It started and Newegg had them.  According to this article, PCMag, the price was $279 to $299.  The author did a test and placed one in their cart and it took forty minutes for the SKU to show they were sold out.

So what do you guys think realistically for the price of the EVGA cards?

Will both the black and XC be available to queue for on release day?

The microcenter store near me still has 6500 xt in stock. In comparison, any 30-series nvidia card sells out in just minutes after store opening - well, except the ASUS 3080 Ti strix LC, because it's freaking expensive.

Anyways, glad to see 6500 xt selling at $199: https://www.microcenter.com/product/646340/powercolor-amd-radeon-rx-6500-xt-itx-overclocked-single-fan-4gb-gddr6-pcie-40-graphics-card

I would love to see rtx 3050 at MSRP.

Guessing the 3050 XC Black at $249... unobtainium
Then the 3050 XC at $329... then slowly increased to $349 over time.

I haven't seen very good reviews on this card.  At $199, might be good for some people who need a GPU... any GPU... for 1080p.  At anything close to MSRP and up, no way.  Looks like newegg have a ton listed at $199 as well.  Possibly a ninja price drop by AMD.

That's about what I was thinking but am hoping for a little less on the XC. Just too bad the black likely won't even be available. And now that we can only queue for one SKU of each card type it makes it harder to pick. Before I would have just queued for both and taken whatever came first. But now that we can only put in for one I guess I'll have to just queue for the XC and hope they don't switch it up and release the black cards this time. It would really suck to pick the wrong SKU. But XC is likely the better bet.

You mean the Powercolor card or the 6500 xt? It's been a while since I saw a GPU on the shelf @MSRP so seeing one is like a breath of fresh air.

These days I don't think review matters a lot to most people. They just buy whatever they can get without practical reasons. Just like the toilet paper craze.

If 6500xt pricing is a bit steep, check how much 1050 Ti is going for these days. Bonkers! I remember helping a friend finding a 1050 Ti almost 3 years ago. The prices back then was around $140-160! And he wouldn't buy one because he thought it's expensive at those prices lmao!

Yeah I watched some reviews of the rx 6500 xt today when I got off work hardware unboxed was right about the pci 3.0.. gamers nexus was about the same review as hardware unboxed. The same it goes to show in this time. Company’s don’t even need to put out good products well one that beats in past products. All they just have to do is have a product.

It started and Newegg had them.  According to this article, PCMag, the price was $279 to $299.  The author did a test and placed one in their cart and it took forty minutes for the SKU to show they were sold out.

There were a few cards posted, a few of them at $199. I can't vouch for them as I only checked newegg probably 10 minutes after 9am ET. But there was still one at $299 available by then.
