does anyone know what time of day and timezone the 3050 will be released on Jan 27?

My best guess…because it is a NVIDIA launch day (as opposed to just a EVGA new model launch)…is 6 am PT. Again, Jan 27 should be for Elite members and non-Elites should be able to sign up on Jan 28.

I think you meant "without an NVIDIA GeForce gpu since late 2020." If it was just any gpu, Radeon 6000 series and a few Nvidia RTX/Quadro are always in stock if you really need "a gpu."

I herd that evga is going to have a Chuck Norris Signature series overclock 3050. because evga 3050 will kick more a ss than other 3050s. 😃 have a Good Friday all joking aside I am sure it will be a good gpu they make Quality stuff that’s why I buy evga components

(I can't afford to buy a flipped GPU)

If true, would be nice to see the 3050 reviews come out BEFORE the release date. But then again, even though I'm not in the market for 3050, I sincerely hope there's enough stock at MSRP (or close to) on the release day.

I'm a new member and will soon be an elite member once the PSU I ordered for my new build gets here, will it be possible for me to get a 3050 on launch day at 6 am or will I likely be pushed too far back in the queue?

Wait there is going to be a 3050 ti?  That is one too many.  It breaks the camels' backs, in my opinion. I am out of here.
 
If you are interested in the 3050, if you are Elite -- Jan 27...likely at 6 am; if you are not Elite, Jan 28.

I'm a new Elite Member as well! It seems like if your PSU arrives before the launch day you should have a decent shot at one. At the very least you'll be at the top of the queue!

I got lucky on best buy and newegg yesterday. 2x 3060 and 1x 3060ti... the 3060ti is evga.

Look at you Mr. Fancy pants with 3 video cards! Lol

We have some first benchmark results of the upcoming RTX 3050 desktop entry-level GPU. 
In 3DMark Time Spy, NVIDIA’s latest card can offer up to 24% more performance than AMD’s Radeon RX 6500 XT. Interestingly, the AMD card is just a few percent slower than RTX 3050 in FireStrike, which favors powerful rasterization engines, such as AMD’s RDNA2 GPUs.

 

 
Of course, 3DMark scores are no longer as important for gamers as they used to, especially when new technologies are in places, such as raytracing or DLSS. However, they still serve well for SKU comparisons, especially under the same architecture.
One should notice that RTX 3050 performance should be on pair with NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti, the most powerful non-RTX Turing from the previous generation.  This card lacks ray tracing and DLSS support, and yet it retails at a minimum of 480 EUR. Hopefully, this is not an indicator of RTX 3050 ‘actual’ retail price.

The card launches on January 27th, but the first independent reviews drop a day sooner. The card will retail at 250 USD/279 EUR and it should become available on the same day it launches. It has already been confirmed that the RTX 3050 is not good at Ethereum mining, so maybe, just maybe this time around it will be easier to buy NVIDIA’s newest card.

In these types of tests you cannot see the real performance if what you are looking for is to play with it, since the rtx 3050 has a more modern architecture which will give it a possibly superior performance in gaming if that is what you are looking for.

With the gtx 1660 super something similar happens in 3D Mark, is below the 1660 Ti but when it comes to playing, because the 16 Super uses a newer architecture ,is better in gaming.

Sure glad rtx3050 has poor mining performance - with the recent Crypto market crash casual gamers can get a decent card, let's hope at a decent price.

What kind of black magic did you have to pull to get 15x 30 series GPUs? I can't even get a single card lol 

5 from best buy drops, 4 from newegg shuffle, 4 from bestbuy in person drops, 1 from teamevga twitch (channel points), 2 from evga queue (kingpin HC and 3060xc passed on kingpin hybrid and 3070ti), 4 from b-stock. 2 pny bestbuy overpriced 3060s. That is 22 cards since april, not including the 1080 and 1650 b-stock cards. Some of these cards have gone to other people in computers that I have built.

It should basically be analogous to 1660 Ti and 3050 performance on laptops, i.e. 1660 Ti edges out the 3050 a bit in most games and benchmarks although close.
 
IMO, pricing may be mostly above $250 especially for AIBs but should not reach the RTX 3060 and AMD 6600 prices. EVGA 3060, for instance, retails at 430 USD. But the pricing on lowest tier card from nvidia @250 is already absurdly high (based on history). Any thing more than that is a total rip off.
 
TSMC is said to be raising their prices 10-20% despite the record earnings. Market continues to bear these high prices, despite knowing the negative side of it - which eventually will become the norm.
