Can someone with a RTX 3050 check something for me? While just sitting at my desktop, with nothing running, gpu-z is showing a high memory load.

You will have to download gpu-z. https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-gpu-z/
Curious if this is normal for this card?
BTW: When I first noticed this, I thought maybe something in Windows 10 was causing the issue. So I did a fresh install of Windows 10 and it's still the same.

Why do you care?

staypuft, thanks for posting your results. Wonder why this card has such a high memory controller load when doing nothing?

Because it feels like you're trying to make a good forum member look bad. staypuft is a great member and I happen to know that he sold his 3050 Black at his cost + shipping to another forum member. He could have easily at that time dropped it on eBay and made a decent return on it. I offered my 3050 Gaming to the same person at my cost + shipping, but staypuft had the card he really wanted because of the lower price.

My apologies if it came off that way. That's not my intention at all, I would never assign ill motives to anyone without all the facts. I simply asked a question, he answered and I thought it was interesting because I knew he got rid of it.

I have found staypuft very helpful and I enjoy his contributions to the forum. Even if I tried, I don't think I could make him look bad!

Yeah, it seems weird.  Doesn't bother me too much since it is sitting at a nice low idle temp.

The card itself is a bit underwhelming, but I plan to test it out some more using games that will be played on the budget 1080p build.  One thing to note, I was able to undervolt this one and get it down to 100W power draw and peak of 56C in a micro ATX case with one tiny 80mm intake fan and a decent rear 92mm fan (meaning, meager airflow).  Will do great for the intended application.

I haven't done any gaming testing with the 3050 card. It's just for running my LG CX 55" 4K OLED TV for it's HDMI 2.1 features.

Still bothers me that the memory controller load is so high though.
