Why is this thing so ugly? The RTX 3090 logo does not even light up at all!!!!!!!

it is like the took a 85 civic and put a Bugatti motor in it. My 1080 TI FTW3 looked 3x better and my 2080 Super XC looked 2x better.

I just spend $1,700 and got something that looks like a "budget" card. I hit up EVGA support. Why would the logo night light up? is my card broken? To me my PC is just as much a piece of art as it is gaming beast. Ive been EVGA fan boy but this really upsets me and now ii just want to scalp the card for $3,500 and get a STRIX.

Which card do you have, and which logo are you referring to?

I have the EVGA 3090 XC3 Ultra. At Microcenter they had 8 XC3's and 2 TUF's. I was first in line. And do not like TUF and have always had EVGA though if i had to choose between XC3 and STRIX i would take strix.

The logo i am talking about is the GEFORCE RTX 3090  logo
Here is link to the image to show the difference

On the XC3 cards only the "EVGA" portion lights up.  The GeForce RTX 3090 portion does not light up.

Hellen Keller could have designed a better GPU. Honestly at the 3090 there should ONLY be FTW3 top tier cards. NOOOOOO ONE spending over $1,000 wants a "budget" "ugly" GPU but that is the only option EVGA gave us. That choice is NOT on Nvidia and the design choice is NOT on Nvidia. I have owned an EVGA cards since 7 series and this is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. Performance is amazing but sad EVGA would not give any info on the FTW3 and only released this XC3. I am going to camp out again and scalp this XC3 and get a STRIX when they come out. EVGA has really rubbed me the wrong the way on this one. I would honestly prefer the RTX 3090 logo lit up rather than any of their EVGA stuff. All the previous XC EVGA cards looked 3 times better than this and cost much less than this at $1,620. Just give me a FTW3 for the $180 more that legit means NOTHING when you already spending almost 2 grand. I want the 3 8 pin power delivery, better cooling, and better RGB. EVGA messed up badly releasing a card to day 1 enthusiasts camping out. This fanboy has been fully turned off by EVGA.

Yikes.  I like the look of some of the EVGA cards.  I like their performance more.  I like the company's transparency even more.

I am so torn.
I know I want an FTW 3 Ultra model of whichever card I get, but 3080 or 3090, that is what I am torn about.
I would love to have the 3090 but really having a hard time justifying the huge price difference.
I am coming from a 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra. So with the 3080 I would actually be going backwards in vram from 11 GB to 10GB. But I will probably never need the 24GB of the 3090 for the period of time I have the card.

Or maybe I should wait and see what other cards are released in a few weeks/months.
Plus I do all my gaming in VR, flight and racing sims, so want the best I can get for that as well.

If the 3080 20gb is real and not a rumor then the wait would be worth it for that. I imagine it would be 1k-1200. For me though I am interested in a Kingpin HC 3090

I am absolutely with you on this one. I waited a few generations (running a 908ti Classy), and have started a completely new build. I decided to get an LG CX 55" with G Sync probably around Black Friday (they had decent discount on the C9 last Black Friday), and have a lot of money to throw around. The problem I keep running into is the seemingly little return on investment the 3090 presents. I mean, I have the money for it, but I guess I am telling myself I would not be willing to shell out more money if they did a 3090ti/super in a few months or so. So, I have been torn just as you lol. I may just get the 3090 and say it is an "early holiday present" to myself at this point. Everything else in the system besides the LG CX 55" and Graphics Card are paid for. Just waiting for my indecision and this scarcity....

I have the 3090 XC3 Ultra (though want the FTW3 or STRIX model when they come out but none the less). I have 3 1440p 144hz screens, a 34" 1440P ultra wide, and a Pimax 5k Plus VR headset. Testing running nvidia surround 7680x1440 and 1.5 SS in the Pimax, i was able to use well over 10gb of VRAM. HW monitor left open all day showed 77% max memory usage. A 3080 10gb is a steal for $700 BUT most high end pc gaming scenarios would benefit massively from 16 or 20GB of VRAM. So having a 10-15% faster card with 24gb of vram was worth it for me. A 3090 cannot even running 144hz locked at 7680x1440 high setting in a lot of games.

I think we are still a generation or two out before we can run high resolution ultra wide setups.. Especially at high refresh rates..

Thanks for the info - still chewing over all of this. I think in this case it my be prudent for me to be a little patient. Will see if I am able to LOL.
