_7ucky_ I could've sworn I read a statement somewhere about how EVGA isn't going to sell 3080s on their site for the very near future until they can make it a better experience. Can't seem to find it now, though.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about and, if so, mind sharing a link?
They're going to try and list ampere cards on EVGAs website next week depending on how revamping the checkout experience goes. Per Jacob Freeman's twitter replies.
Gonna be honest, been eyeballing the Strix or FE, but will buy an FTW Ultra if that's what I can throw my money at first. Elite member here, wanting to upgrade my EVGA FE 1080ti.

I just put in a step up for my EVGA 3090 XC3 (only card available on launch day at Microcenter) to step up to a 3090 FTW3 Ultra. We will see if\when this happens. Surely someone wants a XC3 for size or does not want a flashy card and I want the flashy card so no doubt it would be a quick turn around from them. I am a gamer and use the 3090 to its fullest. I could EASILY scalp this thing i think is ugly for $2,500 and purchase a FTW3 later for $1800 (I sat outside Microcenter for 24 hours, i would do whatever it took to get a FTW3 or STRIX). I am hoping EVGA realizes this and 3090 for 3090 is a good deal no matter what with the current demand. Only time will tell if the Step Up gets going and i get the card i want or i have to go back to sleeping outside to get what i want.

I have a XC3 ultra on its way to my home, but I can’t stop looking at the FTW3 ultra. Is it that much better or am I overthinking it?
I am not looking to OC’ing the card myself, is the XC3 ultra igreat for my needs? Maybe it the fact that the FTW3 ultra performs better thermally and oh yeah RGB!

If you read through the posts I have the XC3 and I put in a step up for the FTW3 Ultra. XC3 is ugly to me and the RGB is not good. FTW3 is usually not worth it performance wise but as more of a show off card. Though why all 3090's are not "show off" models and they make "budget" 3090's is beyond me. I overspend on everything for looks and performance though. My PC sits on a desk in my office glass window facing out.

Do you know what binning is? Not all chips are good enough to be FTW ultras and they need to sell them all to make the money back for the wafer. No one held a gun to your head and made you but the XC3. Most launches the better cards come later as they like to tweak them.

Yes i know what binning is... So you can't have multiple tiers of FTW3 like they already have... FTW3 Gaming and FTW3 Ultra maybe make a FTW3 base model instead of XC3 for 3090's? 100mhz means basically nothing. They could take my XC3 card put a FTW3 cooler on it and it would look 10 times better than the XC3 cooler does. No one forced me to buy it but I wanted a 3090 and waited outside for 24 hours. 7680x1440p Crysis Max settings still ONLY gets 40ish FPS even on a 3090 so my 2080 Super SLI was not cutting it in games that did not support SLI and VR. Binning and ugly ass cards do NOT have to go hand in hand. Just cuz one PCB performs slightly better than another does not mean you have to make the one that clocks 100mhz under the other one ugly as possible and then one with the +100mhz boost capable the best looking GPU around. "Budget" XC cards in the 3090 line should not be a thing or they should have had FTW3's in stores like they did online. Also Nvidia would NOT say anything about if FTW3 would be in stores and ASUS flat out STRIX would not and i can respect that move. Even Nvidia markets it as a show off card. I am not proud to show off my XC3 card I think is ugly. Would be proud to show off my FTW3. Hopefully this step up goes through. If not ill just camp out for STRIX or FTW3 again and scalp my XC3 for $2,500 or more. Good times.

So how long am i going to be expected to wait for a 3090? Would be nice to get one before next year. This has been the worst consumer experience ive ever had so far and its not close.

Supposedly there was some stock of the 3090 FTW3 Gaming card today on Amazon, but it's gone now. I've signed up for all kinds of alerts, but so far no dice (was really hoping for the 3090 FTW3 Ultra). Would be nice to give the dedicated users like those in this forum (many seem to be previous owners/loyal customers) who are waiting for cards - especially the higher end 3090 models - some special priority and first shot. Heck, it would be nice to even have some further updates on availability directly from EVGA / purchases through their web site... Poor communication even makes matters worse! I really wonder how much the hardware instability problems (capacitor issues) are adding to the delay of cards. This has been largely played down by the manufacturers who claim that it has already been solved, but I'm wondering about this in reality... I'm now looking at other manufacturer variants... let's see who can get this sorted out first.

I think that if the worst consumer experience you've ever had--and by far, even!--is not being able to buy a product as soon as you would like... ...well, all I can say is if that's true, count yourself very fortunate!

I am hoping we see some stock availability in the upcoming week for the 3090 FTW3 Ultra that does not sell out in the first 5 minutes... I think I have about decided to pull the trigger on one. But the way I seesaw around that could change again lol.

Seems like the best place to go for updates is EVGA Jacob's twitter. Despite how frustrating this launch is, at least he's putting out info. Seems like all the other AIBs are near-complete radio silence.

LMFAO!... No one asked for RED Trimming! Get rid of it! I don't understand why *cough* EVGA & Corsair *cough* try to force that upon their customers. - EVGA tries to squeeze the color "RED" from time to time, I guess they think "RED" is a superior color for gaming. - Corsair tries to squeeze the color "Yellow Canary" from time to time, I guess they think "Yellow Canary" is a great color for gamers. - We have (( RGB LED )) on most PC components / Peripherals specifically for that, the option to choose the color scheme one prefers to have set.
